    People use the term "that escalated quickly" a lot, but this escalated so slowly that every step genuinely takes you by surprise.
    Reading this was like riding an escalator to nowhere.

      It's a pretty twisted ending right. So clever how he turns lexington from a boy to a pig. That's why I had to say PG in the title and description.

    • @JimiBegbaaji
      @JimiBegbaaji 6 місяців тому

      @@lewiskirk8289 I didn't see the PG advisory. He was such a pure character. Life robbed him from the beginning to the end. The world literally eats up good people.
      I'll look out for the advisories. I really love your narration. Even if I have to steal myself, that's better than not listening to your readings.

      @@zSpirall well, is clear that the boy was cooked at the end. His Aunt always warned him against eating meat and it was his love of meat that killed him. The meaning I think the OP reacts to ascribe to it is probably one of go vegan but I don't think it's that deep.

      @@zSpirall What I got from it is that rural life symbolized love and kindness, and the city deceit, greed and murder.

    • @wulfricc
      @wulfricc 6 місяців тому

      @@zSpirall The story shows a lot of the dark side of humanity.
      But what really hit me is how well-meaning protection from guardians can bury a child in seconds once that protective shield is lifted.
      The world may be cruel, but overprotection might be the worst form of love.

      I decided to read the plot first on Wikipedia since he said not to read it. But I am so confused
      I don't know what kind of business this is, what society is at play, what meaning the story is trying to convey
      Lexington dying just comes out of nowhere
      Is it all supposed to be an allegory for the way pigs feel when they're butchered?
      What was the point of the nanny being Scottish? Why were the cops Irish? Is there a point in saying Lexington was 12-days old when he became an orphan? Why did Dahl include that comment about the parents kissing?

    Here's one last comment i wanted to leave: This kid's fate made the kids in "Series of Unfortunate Events" look pretty lucky; lost parents to corrupt policemen shooting, lost aunt from seizure, and lost his own life from being slaughtered in a special way that terrifies so much i won't say it. If that isn't worse than what the 3 from the Lemony Snicket series got, i don't know what is. Rest in peace Lexington, you were a real one🫡
