You got to do "Ain't No Little Girl," the official video. Am I Not Pretty Enough is the unsure girl trying to find her place in the music industry while Ain't No Little Girl is her coming into her own. She is so smooth like honey in it but strong at the same time.
I got those on the list, I just had to clear my schedule a bit to make a day just for music reactions! I've got some Ren and Chinchilla coming first, but Kasey won't be too far behind!
I'm with you, not a big fan of country music, but Kasey Chambers is one artist I will listen to. You just know it's a good song when you have to listen to it for a second or third time. Her voice is mesmerizing.
Okay, I'm in shock. Lol. Dusty doing country. Never thought it. 😂😂 If you want to expand your horizon's, try Aussie Pub rock, and have a listen to Cold Chisel's Bow River. (Cold Chisel Bow River Ringside 2003 Epic Version 4k remastered by Dr Kap.) Along with ACDC, Cold Chisel is the best of Aussie talent. This will blow your socks off. Jimmy Barnes owns a voice like you never heard. And check out the harmonica!! The crazy Aussies will flock to watch. Cheers mate. (Oh, and no need to pause.)
Dude, in 7th Grade AC/DC was EVERYTHING to me lol I wanted to play Guitar like Angus (which I just saw a tiktok and dude's STILL rockin his schoolboy outfit! haha!) I ended up growing out of them as my favorite band, but they still hold a special place in my heart for classic rock! I think I have that Cold Chisel down, so maybe I'll give that a listen next time! Always good to see you, Arch!
@@DFQreacts Cold Chisel, Bow River, Last stand concert live was the best thing til Lose yourself, easily as good maybe better. Beauty is in the ears of the beholder after all.
You hit the nail on the head. The reason Kasey wrote this song was to show she wasn't going to be pigeon-holed as just a country artist. This song was released in 2001, when she had a great following; but as mainstream radio stations didn't know how to get their heads around her style of music, they failed to hope onboard the Kasey train. In 2017, Kasey released a song which she had written several years earlier but found the confidence to sing at that time; the song is titled "Ain't No Little Girl" which many believe answers the question raised in"Not Pretty Enough", it has a bit of blues/jazz influence but takes no prisoners. I would like to recommend you react to Ain't No Little Girl, the video of this song tends to show the blues/jazz aspect more than a live performance; her performance at The Caverns is also exceptional.
Check out her cover of 7 Nation Army probably the one that she did in Cleveland. people will also recomend Aint No little girl from the Tennessee underground which is good but I actually prefer the official video. Kasey has a huge catalogue with 12 studio albums she changes genres from straight country to bluegrass to country rock but her unique voice always remains the same. I saw her once a few years ago supporting the Eagles on their last Australian tour just before Glenn Frey passed she was amazing and obviously so were they.
One of my faves of all time. Have you seen The Loved Ones? I know it was in that? I actually quite like a lot of country what I don't like is nationalist country which I think is what a lot of people think of when they think of American country. Kasey's voice is so interesting to me because yeah, there are points where she almost sounds childlike but there's almost a rasp there too?
I haven't! So idk where I would have heard this, maybe just once on the radio long ago? I get what you mean though, and unfortunately it seems to have been overran with the maga cultists who use it almost like worship music! Ya that rasp I bet has gotten more spotlight as I think that might be what separates her from other artists!
Dusty ! This is fair play. Cool gal cool song and a perfect choice for a Swifty like me lol. Added to play list thanks. Oh btw i have another artists in the bag of your journey that will blow your mind for later. If you build it they will follow. See ya next week for more Renniverse.

That will be my next Kasey reaction for sure!
Ain’t no little girl and The Captain which was used in an episode of The Sopranos. I love your interpretation as well as the video

Gr8 thoughts and respect for quality mate!.👍
thanks for watching, Zeb!
This song was used in the 2009 movie The Loved Ones.
hmm, I haven't seen that though, so I must have heard this in passing or maybe on the radio a long time ago? idk! lol
Check out Ain't No Little Girl. That's my second favorite after Lose Yourself.
I think that'll be my next Kasey reaction!

Mesmerizing is a great word for it, there's just a quality in her voice that you just get the urge to relisten to!
I was in the movie The Loved Ones (2009). For her voice strength you have to give a listen to "Ain't No Little Girl"
Oh, VERY cool! Its one of my dreams to make a movie! That process must've been so fun!!! (And I got that written down, thanks!)
@@DFQreacts OMG, my bad typo. This song was in the movie The Loved Ones. That was supposed to be "It", not I. 😳

I'm glad she finally got her time! And I think Ain't No Little Girl will be my next one!

I love A’int not pretty enough by Kasey. To me, it’s like another genre she sings. Maybe not, just feels different.
You should react to her live performance of The Captain at Paste Studios. It was in The Sopranos so you may also recognise that one.
Unfortunately I've never seen the Sopranos, but I do have that down and just added the live version next to it! Thanks for the recommendation!

Nice! I got that down, so I might just have to do that next time cause I LOVE that song!
This was not her breakout song, this is from her second album. The captain from the first album was the break out song,
ahh ok thanks! I've got The Captain written down, but I think my next one when I revisit Kasey will be Aint No Little Girl!

Kasey's middle finger to the record industry. You are watching movie clips so yeah, it was in a movie.
oh that was from the movie? haha I just assumed it was the music video! lol

if you haven't yet, DEFINITELY check out her cover of Lose Yourself! It will ABSOLUTELY blow you away!
@@DFQreacts hmmm where my Ren recommendation come from lol ? No worries
It was commentary on radio stations not playing her or other not mainstream artists
got ya! Such a strong message! And look whos still standing!
This song was targeted at the music industry executives who ignored her first album i,e, not pretty enough
I hope they feel like the fools they are!
Jackson Robert Martin Gary Thomas Mark
are they the band members?
is music react a permanent thing?
yea i agree, dont sound like country. it's sounds similar to skater boy/love story to me?
Based on the reception: YES! lol
