Sasha is a very respectable character. Despite his short temper, he wants nothing more than everyone on his plane to survive. As someone with intermittent explosive disorder, I find Sasha a very relatable character. Even the most extreme anger doesn’t necessarily stand between someone and having good intentions.
I grew up watching this movie and it came out when I was in kindergarten and I really thought then the world would end in 2012 lol, When Yuri told Tamara that “You think I didn’t know about you and Sasha?” I had no idea what he even meant by that as a kid and hated Yuri for leaving her there but as an adult, now I’m pretty sure we all know what he meant by that lol…….
The mere fact people are still going out of their way to rescue endangered animals in addition to people despite the disasters is uplifting - especially since it’s CHINA of all nations that’s doing it.
@@2011X-w4ractually, it’s the AN-500. Why it’s got a Soviet-style livery is beyond me. The movie is set in 2012 (duhh), and the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, which would have been 21 years beforehand. If the Antonov AN-500 did exist at that point, it would have been painted up with a yellow stripe and a blue stripe, symbolic of Antonov being under Ukrainian ownership, which is how many AN-124s and even the ill-fated AN-225 were painted.
