I thought this movie was great! I love this scene, when LA is swallowed by a huge chasm. Cusack's character cracks me up. Just don't take any of it seriously. 😂
I think the saddest and truest reality of this movie is that if something like this were to ever happen, and only a select few knew about it, yeah maybe something like this scene would play out.
I always felt bad about the little old ladies dying. Sure they were out of their element, but it reminded me of my sweet grandmother, who wasn't a great driver but a sweet old lady. In fact all the innocent people dying was really disturbing. :(
@Frankie2012channel I don't even think they knew how bad it was. They probably figured it was a small earthquake Giving the movie more than two seconds of thought is disturbing. Billions of innocent people died, including children and more elderly, and all of human civilization was washed away Noah style. That can be lost with all the disasters and following one family across the world
If this really happens i would be scared to those people because it could happen at any moment with out warning i would be crying seeing those people dying, i saw this movie at theaters almost at the end when people were running trying to get in the chip and when people were falling i got dease and almost vomited my older brother too when my mom pick us from theater and ask us if we wanted to eat i said no mom but she didnt know why but we told her
earthquakes of magnitude 10 or higher are not possible. The largest earthquake ever recorded was a magnitude 9.5, which occurred in 1960 near Valdivia, Chile.
The magnitude of an earthquake is related to the length of the fault on which it occurs. It's doubtful that there are any fault lines on Earth large enough to release a magnitude 10 earthquake.
The magnitude scale is open-ended, meaning that scientists have not put a limit on how large an earthquake could be. However, there is a limit just from the size of the earth. For example, a magnitude 12 earthquake would require a fault larger than the earth itself.
In all honesty, when they took off on the plane, height was the only thing they should have thought of. Not what this movies shows, obviously over dramatised for the movie. Good I'd hate to see a movie that is totally realistic.
While most earthquakes are 7's, scientists are saying the big 10 is coming for California and it could be soon. So saying this would never happen.......all I can say is sometimes fiction becomes reality.
@@SilentObserver2009 Then they'll cause a "physical reaction" even though they extremely rarely interact with matter. @Switcheroo4542 East Siberian Arctic Shelf (Natalia Shakova + husband are researchers of the area for over 20 years...listen to her on YT). This is a tipping point 1 of many...but a hugely significant one as the underwater permafrost has now failed during the Summer months and methane CH4 can be seen being released with he naked eye). This movie has a special place in my memory because back in highschool this was the first movie i watched in a theatre with my group of friends
You picked a great movie for your first time in the theater. Also, your cat is cute.
Still cant believe we've all survived this
Yea, What a catastrophe!
Omg is true... dificult year...
When they say dont panic , thats when you run
I love how Gordon was pissed at Jackson hitting his car than being concerned about his familly's survival with all the surounding collapsing.
7:11, 7:55 Lily is left having a breakdown because she feels terrified on what she's seeing or what she saw. Poor girl. 😭
I know this is an absolutely ridiculous movie, but when they are in the plane, with the ground dropping out from under them, my stomach kind of churns.
This movie delivered.
I love hyperrealistic action films.
This movie falls into my "so bad it's good" category.
Why
But it's not bad
It’s not bad, it’s really really bad
Most people don’t know it’s a comedy.
When I have grandkids I"m going to show them this movie and tell them I survived that.
Nice white lie
I can’t believe you would lie to your future grandchildren

I always thought Lily, said "my house".😂😂 02:20.
Lily: My house.
Kate: I didn't know you paid, the mortgage sweetheart
my house!
*_house destruction noises_*
Actually she said ”my hats!”. Later in the movie her mom says that those hats always made Lily feel secure or safe.
she actually said my hats cause she a text to hats

Richter 25.8 earthquake be like 😅😅
It was more realistic and better made and better shot and better edited than The Hurt Locker.
Those are some tires.
3:18 Kinda sad really
There’s actually something disturbing and sad to see those old ladies be killed right after making a throwaway joke with them
Real

It's even more amusing that people make those dumbassss cliches!! 😅😂
You can thank the wonderful Gavin newsome
Very nice movie
I did not expect that earthquake to happen 💀💀💀
When it comes to these kind of movie's I feel more sorry for the 🥺 children and critters than the adults!!!!
I am still wondering how the tires are not flat after all the cracks on the ground lol
the world is not going to end up like this

This would never happen in California. Earthquakes along the San Andreas Fault are historically around 7.0.
You don't watch this movie for actual science
But what if the neutrinos. . .mutate?

.. I thought this was going to be video about Gavin Newsom!
I enjoyed this movie when I first watched it now I feel like it might be the stupidest movie ever made
The Gavin Newsom experience but with a mother nature twist..
They partly ruined this movie with over use of stupid special effects WAY OVER DONE.
But that’s what makes movies great WTF😂
That's the stupidest clip I've ever seen.
My opinion hasn't changed... The dumbest movie ever made that defies all laws of physics and common sense thinking...
that's because it's a MOVIE. It's not REAL.
Climate Collapse will make this scene look like a garden party...better batten down the hatches.
How
"climate collapse"?!! 🤣🤣
