My daughter just bought a Lincoln LS, coil pack had to be replaced that fixed a mis fire her horn or cruise control doesnt work and her air bag light is on, so looks like I will be busy on this car for a bit, thanks for the video, I know to do the clock spring, now I will look for the o2 sensor how to video
+mifanointed1 Yea seems kinda odd, I will check it before I replace it, make sure thats the problem, she said they needed to be replaced but didn't say who said or why it needs to be done.
+mifanointed1 Wow I just got thru talking to my daughter to see where she got her info, guess what, that's the code that came up when she took it to Autozone, just came across your comment about the same time, we are pretty limited here, its a small town but we do have Autozone and I don't know if the town can support it but they are building a O'Reileys right now.
Thanks for the video. I bought my mom an '01 LS v8, and the airbag light stays on, so it looks like this is what I need to do. Part is about $150, but my labor is free. From your experience, do the spark plug coils go out often? I've heard they are a common problem on these cars.
The lincoln ls eats coils for breakfast lunch and dinner. Even through regular maintenance you might have coils and plugs go bad on you. Symptoms are check engine lights, misfires, dead cats and other problems if not taken care of properly. When changing these you might as well change the valve cover gaskets to prevent oil getting in the wells which probably damaged the coils in the first place. You should also change the spark plugs while you are at it, and remember to use good quality coils and plus otherwise you will have problems soon after you replace these. Be away that any jerking, stuttering, or shaking can also be symptoms of a vacuum leak or bad pcv on top of the coils.
Getting ready to swap my clock spring out, My 2002 V8 130k miles, I've swapped out 4 so far since I bout it 10k miles ago, once you do it once it's easy. 20 minute job now. There expensive and hard to tell which are newer and which are originals. Didn't want to swap out good ones how expensive they are. So used, so far repairs have been, passenger window motor and track, O2 sensor, 4 coils, plugs, alternator, and finally clock spring. Like the style of the car. It's not a car for someone that's going to pay for repairs at dealership!
Can someone tell me the part number for a Gen I clockspring.i get mixed results when I google. Thanks to anyone that'll help me. Nice video bro will be using it when I get a new clockspring.
Hi, I have a lincoln LS 2002 and the cruise control and horn are not working, also some times (not always) when somebody is seated on passenger side an annoying noise (5-6 beeps x 3 times) start up several times, is this a clockspring issue too?
@@PeterMurrayj it stopped it from idling high. But I don't know what caused it to do that. Few months later I bought a Lincoln MKZ and put the Lincoln LS in the garage. Was still running good when I put it in the garage with 308,000 miles on it.
mifanointed1 Not sure, but they say the piece it comes out of is like holding a bomb. Anyway I don't do wires and stuff. The window regulator I will try from watching UA-cam and I just need to see if I can put on a fender, bumper and headlight.
this man looks and sounds just like cleveland brown from family guy love your videos but its just when u say lancoln instead of lincoln makes me wanna vomit
Thank you sir. Informative and to the point. All videos should be like this

+Richard Rathman I usually go to mechanic shops that do free inspections. Auto zone and others will do a free scan. I'd see what codes come up.

My cruise control is really touchy and my airbag light is on too. What did you end up doing? ('01 LS - V8 here)

Mine is a v6. I have 224,000 miles on mine and mine has never gone out. I don't know if those things going out is normal.

What was wrong with the car that you needed to replace the part?

not sure. see if you can get a free inspection
This might help someone now.. air bag on the seats have wire harness that wears out. Shorts out EVERYTHING!!
Can the clock spring be the cause of my stereo not turning on at all? I've checked the fuse and it's fine.
My cruise control quit working. And air bag light came on. But my radio worked.
@@mifanointed1 Got the same issue, this ended up fixing it I assume?

the horn and steering wheel buttons dont work on my LS. Does that mean I have to replace my clock spring?
I'm not sure. But the probability is high.
Why did you replace the clock spring?
I just noticed your question. I replaced it because my horn and cruise control stopped working
What could be the cause of my radio not working then? I disconnected everything and reconnected it and it still doesn't turn on.
Did you check the fuses?
I had this problem. I cleaned my battery and everything it came back on.
TehRubiks After a day or 2 with the battery cable off my radio worked.
Hi where are you located and do you have an email address where I can ask you questions about my lincoln ls my car runs hot at least 2-3 tines a year
Manuelisfound@gmail.com
They say the airbag thing can pop doing this
J Black I never heard that. Maybe it's true. I wonder if disconnecting the battery will prevent the airbag
