However its only 100 cheaper plus those extra features are very appealing to me. After I've got everything then I'll just make it the lite my travel/out door console when it goes on sale I'll play my favourite games or use it as extra storage then again I could just get more SD cards and possibly thinking about the PS5 in any case I do want a switch more.

I just traded my og switch for it. I absolutely love it. I actually like this more tbh. I'm always on the go and dont have time to always be on the tv mode. Its so lite weight as well. I would recommend it.

@@adj6957 if multiplayer offline, then you will need seperate joycons which costs like 80 bucks not including the charging station. If online, then you can still use the lite as long as you have a Nintendo online subscription

I think what’s amazing to me about the switch lite is that it is essentially a home console turned portable. Granted the original was a hybrid home and handheld console, but the switch is the main console of Nintendo’s current line up and for years I’ve wanted a handheld console that wasn’t stuck with either watered down versions of home console games or exclusives to that specific console. To me it’s almost the equivalent of of Sony announcing a handheld ps4 that used the exact same discs as the original at 2/3 the price. Some see this as a downgrade from the original switch, but I see it as an upgrade to Nintendo’s handhelds a true merger of handhelds and home consoles. For once players don’t have to choose between portability and quality games. Of course the same things could be said for the OG switch, but this is still the first time a dedicated handheld plays the same games as the company’s home console.

Switch lite made total sense to me when I first heard about it. I had wanted to play some console exclusive games as well as some smaller games (stardew valley ftw) in portable mode, but already had the much more powerful PS4 for bigger games on TV. So I thought why not. And I don't regret it!

I would like to get it. It's a very good video gaming console at a great price! Even though it doesn't have some good features, but it's still a good console.
If you don't mind it only being in handheld mode, the joycons not being detachable, and the screen being smaller, (though it's the same 720p resolution) then it might be good for you, it also more portable and durable, you can use wireless controllers with it too.

The screen is honestly SO durable. And the buttons, triggers, etc, is literally impossible to take off and break. So I mean this is honestly perfect to give to a child. If you drop it it’s 100% not gonna break lol.

Going through all these videos to learn about the Switch Lite, it feels like a lot of reviewers maybe missed the point? Like, the entire point of looking at the Lite (and it seems the reason they made it) is specifically because I’m specifically interested in mobile gaming and I don’t wanna lug around the weight and size of a dockable modular system if I’m *never* gonna use those functionalities. It doesn’t seem to be competition for the normal switch at all 🤷♂️

Exactly! The main selling point of the Switch is to play graphically demanding games on the fly. Think 3DS but with better actual games. The docking feature should be an afterthought and a bonus point.

In the UK it’s £200 for the Switch Lite BUT for the Switch it’s £280 with a 2 year warranty. I think that you may as well pay £80 more for the switch as you have so much more coming with it and so much more you can do with it and on top the 2 year warranty

PSP & PS Vita had so much potential, but price was expensive at the time and Nintendo already had an established market in handheld gaming.

Im still using my psp go from 2011 till right now, theres just so many underrated gem for me to let go of this thing.
PSP GO is amazing but also expensive, considering the used price goes pretty much on par with the oled vita.
@@GLDragon93 Fun fact PSP kinda flopped in the western market, but the psp EXPLODED into the japanese market, psp has been neglected for ages but in japan it thrives massively with constant new releases and such... which is why nintendo made the switch in the first place :P they wanted to ease the massive psp userbase into their console, and the switch lite is a way more obvious example of them trying to cash in on the psp market :P

Both psp and ps vita are some of the best console for vn, unfortunately here in the western market only otome games came through and got localized, while male oriented or non romance got totally snobbed, I'm still pissed that Golden Time Vivid Memories didn't got a translation(like Toradora portable on psp), nor there's a fan project D:

Got my switch lite last Christmas and I absolutely love it. I bring it to school with ease. I play alone since no one at home plays a lot of games so there was no point on getting the OG version. I have small hands as well so it’s way more comfortable for me. He forgot to mention there’s a regular gray colored lite too (I bought that color). The only complain I really have is the memory storage, only 32 GB.
Can you upgrade the storage? Like, buy more or something?
