I absolutely love Recoil and so much looking forward to this. Alan Wilder has become such an enigma. I'm always starved for any news on how he has been. He left such a monumental impact on the world with his contributions in both Depeche Mode and Recoil. He is my musical idol.

I'm not that big a Recoil fan, but I've bought physical and digital copies of all the work to support Alan Wilder.
Alan Wilder said at the time: "I'm not a great composer. But I'm good at sound design." That says it all why Depeche Mode worked so well back then - everyone had their job in this band. Dave and Martin are good as composers/lyrics, Alan made the beautiful unique DM sounds...
Is Dave really good as a songwriter? No, he is not at all. He is amazing frontman/ vocalist/ singer/ showman. Martin is a great composer/ lyricist (a bit retired now) and a singer as well.
Great timing! 😁👍 I recently came across a post stating that Daniel Miller attended Vince Clarke's album signing. Daniel mentioned that Alan is nearing completion of his new album, which is expected to be released early in 2024.

I don’t listen to Recoil very often, but as a production nerd I LOVE it whenever I fall down the Recoil rabbit hole
Maybe by then there is more (or a denial) on the rumor new material on the way.

I know this will be about Recoil only. But I would love you to talk about his epic intros and outros he created for DM some day. And referring to Recoil... just listen to the intro of "Control Freak". Still gives me chills. It's THOSE kind of cool, dark, moody and yet so subtle sounds that I miss in Depeche Mode. NO ONE else than Alan was able to create such electronic landscapes. But maybe I'm just too retro....

Hi Vaughn George! I've been waiting your Recoil reviews for "decades" 🤭😉. I'm pretty concious about the fact that not so many fans from DM Alan's period can't digest his solo project but I really love his work as Recoil (specially Bloodline, UM and my fave one Liquid) and I'd like to hear your opinion about them, they have this dark & cinematographic appealing all over them. It's such an experience going through Alans' soundscapes.
We need to put Allan in the spotlight so he will make music for us again!!!!!

YES! Great idea, I love Recoil, especially Unsound Methods and Liquid and it's such a dhame that they never get any coverage. Can't wait.
After that, you could also do a review series on the 23 studio albums of Jean-Michel Jarre, you would have new content for the channel for the next 10 years.😂

I just hope that before release the series, you’d have time and the opportunity to listen at least Recoil Collected on a very good sound system, talking about something like Mcintosh or Mark Levinson minimum to really appreciate the sound quality and sonics that mr Alan imprinted on his music and that is far from the knowledge of most of the people in the music industry today.
I agree with so many here. Alan Wilder has become an enigma for those not in the know. But in case this information matters to some of you, Alan Wilder placed his Sussex mansion on the market around March 2023. He is leaving his home of 20 years and downsizing. He likes the Sussex area and will continue to stay there and look for a home with the same amenities but smaller. 🥰
He is married so don’t get any ideas. I know I did. I was thinking of visiting the Sussex area next time I’m in England. Stalker much? I most likely wouldn’t do it because I have pride. But it sure crossed my mind. Unless I can find something to do in Sussex then I can include the “accidentally run in to Alan” agenda, too. 😂😂😂
He is still a handsome man, I’m sure. But he won’t look like the Alan of Depeche Mode, 1994 or even Recoil. He doesn’t seem like the clichè type of older man liking much younger women. I’m not much in to older men either. But for Alan Wilder I will make an exception. It wouldn’t hurt to meet him and have a chat to see. 😝 I have never wished anyone to be divorced. But I secretly do with Alan Wilder. 😩
He probably doesn’t like Californian ladies. He likes Sussex which is not like California at all. Aside from the politics and some of the people here, California has spectacular beaches and weather. A girl can dream. 🤪
The world's one of the most ignored musicians ever. Why..? Because his interest was only his music. I'm 54 and, 42 years following Alan Wilder/DM and his/it's beautiful soul. Nobody came this surface better than Mr. Wilder. Thanks again for sharing your works with this world... at least we listened and grew up with them. And thank you God, for gifting us Alan Charles Wilder, in our life time period.

Not a fan of Recoil, to be honest it was too samey for me, throughout it had something missing? possibly Martins genius writing...Alan could interpret Martins work musically in Depeche brilliantly, but with his own solo stuff Alan lacks something which he could only amplify in Depeche.
