Im going to believe that this was romantic. The two holding hands was a choice, that wasn't needed for the scene if they were just two friends having a conversation. Also, they were holding hands as they were watching Kim and Tommy have a romantic goodbye, probably allowing them to relax their inhibitions as they don't know if they will survive the final fight.

I think it would be awesome if the PR Prime comic continues this continuity and gives those two a chance to shine. Matt, and Aisha to some degree well. As much as I love seeing a ton of rangers, it's time to go back to spending time with just a core team for awhile.

This finale is horrible. They wasted 8 years and over 100 issues by ending it like that. There's not one single character who gets a satisfying conclusion to his/her story. And I'm not talking about happy endings, but there are main characters that we barely see in this issue, especially after the "final battle". The main 7 rangers don't even share a final panel together. So much potential that led to nothing. I could continue for hours but I don't want to ruin this comment section because you, Deoxy, don't deserve so. Thanks again for covering till the very end with passion and dedication. I'll be looking forward to see what you'll do next.
I got the impression that whatever the Death Ranger did in those few scenes helped the vessel escape later on. I could be wrong but that’s what it looked like to me
I think we have too many characters and not enough time for this finale to be satisfying. There were some threads of a character arc set up for Zedd's generals in Eltarian war, especially Goldar. I would've loved to see more than a cameo for them from this finale
The glaring flaw in darkest hour is that zordon’s body shouldn’t have been able to get the zeo crystal in the first place, having no will, he can’t be pure good or have enough good to grab the crystal
The spell that protects the Zeo Crystal only wards of evil intend. You even see that the spell DID affect his arm and it was turned redish, like a burn.
I am surprised Rita didn't show up in the last battle. I guess she was truly giving up and staying in the dumpster. It would have been nice if she was part of the final defeat of Dark Specter. I'm still shocked that Matt kept the Green Ranger Powers all the way to the end.
I just really hope we get some more additions to the story. Like there’s a lot still missing. Like what happens now with Jason Trini and Zack now that Trini and Jason said they still Love each other. Or the Hyperforce team like did they ever get their timeline repaired? Where is their Zordon? Is Billy going to repair the timeline fully ? Like there is so much more.
Yeah I felt this ending was a little underwhelming, I mean a lot of action had taken place pretty early in this spam of comics. I do feel that the last few issue felt slow which is good if you had a impacting finally. I was hoping for Lord Zedd teaming with Rita to take on Darth Specter. Well it wasn't too bad I enjoyed the story but It could of been more.
I'm really mixed on the whole Billy, shattering the Grid thing and then taking presumably years to fix it. It seems like a plot hole and a very little inconvenience at the same time. All it seems to have done is erase Coinless Trini, Kira, and Grace from existence. Which suck but is that really all shattering the Grid did? Also, if the timeline changed and Grace died, how did Matt become the Green Ranger? Plot convince ig. Billy also makes it seem like the events of the other seasons still happen in someway. Though how the events of In Space happen with Dark Spectre being dead is confusing. What is the point of shattering the Grid if it didn't really affect anything?
I read this two times, not because I thought the final battle was rushed...the ending was. It felt more of the start of Billys 10 year journey they were talking about with "Power Rangers across the morphin grid" The ending is leading into that Im sure. I actually really liked the final battle and what they all put into it. Regarding the Death Ranger, he wasnt fodder. Yes Dark Specter dispatched of him really quickly but Im certain that he helped the Vessel to take controll for that one important moment. Without him, this would have failed. I would even go as far that Rita knew the Death Ranger could be used as a fail save. Doctor O Talking with Tommy is something I REALLY wanted to see. Candice returning to help Earth and Skull was awesome and gave this battle even more weight. The entire issue just felt great reading through and with Billy narating it all. Like I said the ending felt rushed and was more a "to be continued" than a true ending to it all. Many things left unsolved Still I enjoyed Im excited what the future holds with Power Rangers Prime!
13:41 this scene here in the background I started playing the Stan Bush song The Touch from the Transformers and it kind of fits the narrative for this finale. Ranger Prime, pulls out the Morpher Matrix: "Now everyone let us light our Darkest Hour." And if I'm being honest I feel like this could have gone a little bit longer like wrap up everything a nice little bow in a aftermath kind of special sort of way. But be that as it may I'm happy with what we got.
Considering how many storylines they needed to wrap up, seems like they could have spread this out into two issues so that they could provide more closure. Like you said, mixed feelings on the ending

I watched Turtle Den's hour long video on how the old run ended. So I'm up to speed now. Confused like someone understanding Kingdom Hearts lore, but I'm up to speed.
While I am mixed on the finale, I did enjoy the writer going all in on all the other series. Even giving hyperforce some serious spot light. A more Tight epilogue would be nice but I like the open nature of it since we have once a Ranger to reference and cosmic fury. Read comic long enough to know the was going to be mixed ending since you can’t always satisfy everyone. 7/10. I liked getting here and hopefully for PR Prime

Melissa has been prioritizing waaay to many side plots and characters, and here we are at the end and its all rushed, definitely needed to focus on the team more
Wow. That was lame. Way to not wrap up anything for any characters. We need an issue or two on after the battle wrapping up everything with all of the MAIN characters
On the plus side it was great to see rangers from fan favorite series working together. Good character interactions, even Bulk and Skull got a moment to be heroes (similar to their scene on in space) The team Morph to defeat Dark Specter was cool & a fitting moment. But on the bad side, no Rita (I was kinda expecting her to help out even maybe turning into Mystic Mother) no Drakkon, & shockingly Jason & Tommy didn’t even suit up! Zeo Gold was there & if that was Jason they should of done a team up with him and Black Dino Thunder Tommy!
I just cant believe the the series finished with Jason remaining both sidelined and beng cucked. What a disrespect for the character, rushed ending or not.
There was a reason why Jason stayed on earth and couldn't morph. It's like fans either had selected reading or understand the arc the character went on.
@Deoxy360 Yes, there was a reason, that doesn't justify ending the series with two of the main and most popular characters being relegated to civilians who don't even get to face the big bad. Even Zedd got to do that for Pete's sake and he's a villain. That "arc" of Jason deciding to give up trying to regain his powers and going back to take care of his Dad again never made sense. It was clear that being a ranger and helping people across universe was part of Jason's core character. He wouldn't stop trying to do that. His dad didn't want him to stay home and take care of him precisely because he knew Jason was using it as an excuse not to go out on his own. There's no explanation for why his dad is suddenly okay with it. I understand that the ending had to be rushed, that doesn't change what they did to the character. What's really surprising is that they did it to Tommy too, especially considering that he's the golden goose of the series.

I really didn't like this finale (and was shocked to learn that it was a finale) so many plot lines left open, I don't think Zack had one line (why he wasn't in the scene with Trini and Jason is a mystery), no idea how this fits in the overall plot and what the idea was of shattering the grid. Dark Spector just lost all of a sudden, the original MMPR Rangers didn't interact, the new MMPR rangers didn't interact. It just felt empty I hope we get something more than just this because as an ending it was just plain terrible.
What an unsatisfying ending. You can tell this was rushed because of the cancelation and not an organic ending. So many story threads go unfulfilled, character arcs unfinished, and we dont wvwn know what the state of the world is at the end.
@Deoxy360 You're correct that there's no official declaration of the cancelation. That said, it's clear that it was canceled precisely because of how suddenly Boom announced that this was the final story when it was more than halfway done. If this was always going to be the final run they would have announced it at the very beginning, not when it was almost over. Add the huge amounts of unfinished plotnlines, story threads, and character arcs and its pretty obvious what happened.
I had to go re watch your video as I saw it last night and didn’t really clock the adam & Rocky thing, I guess I kinda agreed with you that they had been through something together. But I woke up today with MMPR online fandom melting down that Rocky and adam have been made retroactively gay. Which is incorrect on many levels. Surely men holding hands isn’t enough to launch a coming out party for them, and even if this is hinting towards a Rocky/Adam romance that’s totally fine in this alternate version of the story, why is everyone so mad? Well we know why but it’s disappointing. On second thoughts I think personally the writers are saying they would have explored a Rocky adam romance, and in a modern retelling of a story I’m all for it.
Regards Deoxy! I do believe that maybe some scenes or scripts were cut off. Spoiler cover variant shows the Psycho Rangers… which we don’t see again. Cover from 122 shows Rita, kind of telling us she could be back for the finale battle and maybe this is where Death Ranger plays a part. Also final form from DarkSpecter (Maligore) the one from PRiS was teased on many covers. I missed Jason on the final battle, I hoped him to become Gold Ranger and play a part. I was expecting after Grace dissapesreance from existence, all reality was going to start changing meeting the original series as a reboot kind of finales. Old man Billy final scene seems him to be in some kind of apocalíptic future? Is this because of the grid splintered? Hope to have more info

Even if it was a bit rushed and a bit anti climactic, the ending was decent at best with several characters having their last moments together.
That ending was Wild Force AF but without really wrapping anyone up, almost Super Megaforce-like in finishing the present day on the battlefield

What an unsatisfying ending. You can tell this was rushed because of the cancelation and not an organic ending. So many story threads go unfulfilled, character arcs unfinished, and we dont wvwn know what the state of the world is at the end.
The comics weren't cancelled. Click youtubers are spinning that because they don't read the comics.

@Deoxy360 You're correct that there's no official declaration of the cancelation. That said, it's clear that it was canceled precisely because of how suddenly Boom announced that this was the final story when it was more than halfway done. If this was always going to be the final run they would have announced it at the very beginning, not when it was almost over. Add the huge amounts of unfinished plotnlines, story threads, and character arcs and its pretty obvious what happened.

I had to go re watch your video as I saw it last night and didn’t really clock the adam & Rocky thing, I guess I kinda agreed with you that they had been through something together.
But I woke up today with MMPR online fandom melting down that Rocky and adam have been made retroactively gay. Which is incorrect on many levels. Surely men holding hands isn’t enough to launch a coming out party for them, and even if this is hinting towards a Rocky/Adam romance that’s totally fine in this alternate version of the story, why is everyone so mad? Well we know why but it’s disappointing.
On second thoughts I think personally the writers are saying they would have explored a Rocky adam romance, and in a modern retelling of a story I’m all for it.

Regards Deoxy! I do believe that maybe some scenes or scripts were cut off. Spoiler cover variant shows the Psycho Rangers… which we don’t see again. Cover from 122 shows Rita, kind of telling us she could be back for the finale battle and maybe this is where Death Ranger plays a part. Also final form from DarkSpecter (Maligore) the one from PRiS was teased on many covers. I missed Jason on the final battle, I hoped him to become Gold Ranger and play a part. I was expecting after Grace dissapesreance from existence, all reality was going to start changing meeting the original series as a reboot kind of finales. Old man Billy final scene seems him to be in some kind of apocalíptic future? Is this because of the grid splintered? Hope to have more info
The spoiler cover did have the psycho's who can see in the background for the final battle. But not all covers hint at stuff that might happen
