  • The side sweeping fringe is timeless so it's important as stylists that we understand different ways to cut side bangs.
In this video, Sam Villa Education Director Andre Carruthers shares three different ways to approach cutting fringe depending on their hair type: fine hair, medium hair or thick coarse hair.
The recommended shear for this technique is the Sam Villa Signature Series Reversible Blending Shear since it will create softness and additional movement throughout the ends.

We recommend using the Sam Villa Signature Series Short Cutting Comb for this technique.

I am always impressed with the artist that taught me a lot about cutting. Amazed with the knowledge and diversity of cutting not just a fringe but overall haircutting period. Love watching Andrew work, one of the best in my book.

EXCELLENT!!!!!! I kinda learned what you explained on my own through the process of trial and a whole lot of error. I wish all cutting tutorials were this well explained and easy to follow.

@Em is spot on! Usually, the hair at the very top of the head isn't really adding density to the ends when you have fine hair so adding an it of layering to the very upper surface should give you something to add some fullness without compromising the density on the ends.

I really like the Sam Villa videos! I ordered the shears today. I’m good with cutting my own bangs, and want to graduate to this asymmetric, angular style. Thanks again!

You are incredible. I have searched for self help hair videos for quite some time, thank god I came across yours. I first watched your video on how to remove bulk from side fringe and I was soo impressed that I decided to review more of your videos. Your amazing. A true life savor for someone like me who does not have the time, money, or trust for constant salons. My side fringe and upkeep look great now because of you! ♡♡♡♡
