Thanks for the video. I just changed mine for the first time and this video prevented me from breaking something. The process is ridiculous, they even leave a switch with a short cord to ensure a high repair cost. I had to do it twice because I found a red clip on the floor after it was in.
Thanks, JD! Just replaced ours with a HEPA plus Activated Carbon. 👍🏼
Right on!
Outstanding video tutorial. Thanks for saving me the money by having the Ford dealer replace that filter.
Good Morning Big Truck & Big RVs
Good one handed work with camera in other hand. Haha. I needed this video. Quick and simple. Thanks.
And now you can breathe a little easier. As always your directions are informative and top shelf. 😊👍👍👍
You are king of demonstrating one hand installs lol
When I changed mine and it was not that dirty, I took a shop vac to blow out the dirt. The next time I replaced at my next oil change.
Seen some guys on you tube compress air the area while the filters out or wipe with a damp cloth.
Funny, I just did this same maintenance with the same filter and around the same time. Go figure. Keep up the great content.
My old 2014 fusion was almost the same for the cabin air filter replacement. I did it myself after the dealer wanted $400 to change the oil, engine air filter and cabin filter, I went off on them. Paid $40 bucks for an oil change, about $30 for the filters and no time at all to change.
Outstanding!!! I have one on order, good old Amazon
I change all my vehicles myself because I got tired of the dealership charging twice the price of the filter just for installation. Every new year it's new windshield wipers, air filter, and cabin air filters.
Thank you. I just did it following your video. Keep going 👍
Wow, Ford made this filter location and remove/replace way more complicated than they needed to. My '05 Honda Civic, and 3 Tacoma's ('99 Ranger and '05 GTO don't have a filter from the factory) take half as many steps to reach the filter location, no screws need to be removed, a couple of plastic glove box stops pop loose and access is immediate. I replace mine once a year, yearly mileage is usually less than 10K miles. Filters range $12-$20, the amount of debris the filters collect is astonishing: cotton wood seeds, dead bugs, miscellaneous seeds from other trees, finally all the dust, dirt, pollen.
Yep! My 2019 F350 Super Duty has the exact same set-up as yours JD.
Had it replaced when we got the oil change just after buying it last spring.
Easy-Peasey!!😁👍
But next time I'll do it myself.
Has to be easy to do if you,(someone) can do it with a camera in one hand...LOL 😂
If it’s that difficult then what else has been poorly engineered? I can replace the CAF in my 2016 Ram in 90 seconds start to finish.
That's what I was thinking while watching this.
Took me all of 90seconds i dont see what the big deal there is about it being difficult 😂
I like to write the date changed on the filter or better yet, note it on a blank back page of the manual if there is a printed one.
Good tutorial. You sure show how easy it is.
I added a k&n to my 2019 super duty and love it
Good data. Shorter intro would be nice, but good video overall.
I do my cabin filter in my ram once a year. Dealers want $75-100 to change and its a $15 part
Thanks for the video! I think I got a dead rat stuck in mine 😂, got to tear it down and see if I can find it.
Thanks JD 👍
Way to soldier through that 1 handed. I'd have been like okay we'll be back in a minute........
If only I could get my F450….. still waiting 7 months after ordering it!!!!!
Same. I ordered a 22 f450 lariat, on rapid red/stone grey. I gave up on waiting, and picked up a 18' f250 with 20k miles. Put airbags on it and tows great. I'll still yake the f450 when it comes but couldn't wait any longer.
That's why I'm it getting rid of mine yet
The air fin was bent slightly up. Which made installation a little difficult
I did not change my cabin air filter for 120,000 miles and my truck had weak air flow no dealer new the issue
That filter almost looks like what my class 8 International takes. The sleeper air filter is different.
Thank you so very much
Wish my 2016 F450 had a cabin filter, my 2002 gmc HD2500 has one. Ford dropped the ball. Best I could do was install FrogzSkin material under the intake of the cowling. Limits most of the debris from outside, no way to filter recirculated air.
Should mark the filter with the date/mileage/hours on engine.
Replaced mine twice I bit of a pain in the ass but cheaper than the dealer.
Superduty is super easy lol but it is very easy
Wow! Thanks for doing this video. I thought I read somewhere that our trucks didn't have a cabin air filter. The joke is on me. I'll get on that right away. Of course Ford had to make it as ridiculous as possible to change it.
Why go to dealer for an oil change. The oil changes on these trucks are easier to do then the cabin air filter. The amount of time you spend driving to dealer you could have oil changed in the truck in under 30 mins.
I replace my cabin filter every 15000 miles on both my truck and my wifes suv
Per normal, Ford has taken something that should be very simple to do ( with better design) and made it a 25 step/15 minute process. You shouldn't need ANY tools to replace that filter. My wife's honda takes about 2 minutes max to change the cabin filter. No wonder dealer service is so expensive. Any under hood repairs on that diesel are a nightmare!!
It looks hard to do with two hands and you do it with one.
