Sometimes regular maintenance can be fun when you do it with Moostang! Thanks for watching guys. Make sure to hit subscribe if you haven't already, we are so close to 10,000!!
Great video brother 👊. I wanted to know if you could make a video on how to change out the whole fog light assembly for my 2018 F-250 6.7 diesel. The clear plastic has cracked and allowed water to get in. I also want to change the bulb to LED like you did. I look forward to hearing from you.
Hey Shawn...Just wanna shout out to ya from Green Bay buddy. Thank you for the instructional video. You saved me $60.00+ I'm not mechanical but you helped me replace the cabin filter in my truck. Thanks!
Brother, I think this was the fourth video I watched on replacing this filter, and let me tell you, it was by far the best! The manual is very vague on this filter. They give you the part number and tell you it is behind the glove box, but other than that.....not much else! Anyways, you earned another subscriber! Thanks
I’m in dirt all day at work. My air isn’t blowing like it should be. Now it blows like new! It’s a 2018 f250 4door longbed 4x4 gasser. Thanks for the video!
Just had my truck serviced. I have a service agreement for oil/tire rotation. They tried to sell me the cabin air filter. No way!!! Keep up the great videos I don’t know if your saving me money. Sometimes you are. Other times my wife asks if I really need the upgrades. She just doesn’t understand trucks 😁
I watched a few how too’s on this and yours was by far the best! My K&N has been sitting in the garage for 4 months because I was a bit intimidated until I watched your video! Thanks so much for your help! More F250 vids please!!
Shawn, finally had to change my cabin filter. Only have 16k on my 350 and when I kicked on the AC fan, racket big time. Thought something blew up. Watched your video again and played it step by step. 👍Turns out a mouse made a nest in the filter and the fan chewed him up. You make every video easy to perform.
Always enjoy your great videos! Never have changed out a cabin air filter, but after seeing your old one, will do mine when it hits 20,000 miles. My wife’s car has 65,000 on the odo, and never have replaced the air filter, but will get on that asap! Appreciate the time you put into these and look forward to the next installment!
Thanks for watching Rick! Take care of the Mrs car and I bet she will not ice a difference. Thanks for recognizing the time well spent making content for the world to see. I will have more to come soon!!!
I changed a friends cabin air filter on a truck F150 that had 100,000km (60,000 miles) on it and was 5 years old. OMG what a mess. He never knew the filter existed. When he saw me pull the filter out with 2 inches of dust and crap on it, he was floored. Once I replaced the filter, he couldn't believe the difference in heating and defrosting. His local garage who does his oil changes never checked it or replaced it.
Just finished the job. Took about 30 minutes. First, my truck interior is solid black and my lighting sucked. Second, the wires on my truck were a lot shorter than yours, so I carefully pulled a bit and had to lift that panel up, instead of dropping like you did. And, third, I just used a flat blade screwdriver since I didn't have the plastic pry tools you have, so I moved a lot slower to not scratch any surfaces. I would have given up without this detailed video. Thanks.
Just wanted to stop by and say you gained a subscriber. Very friendly, and knowledgeable. I work at the Kentucky Truck Plant and plan to buy one this year. Thanks for the great content and hopefully I can do some of these mods when I pick my new f250 up as well.
Man thank you for the kind words Campbell!! You keep building awesome vehicles and I’ll keep nodding them and making videos. Thank you for your subscription and viewership brother.
I love your videos man. You make such good content that no one thinks to make and it’s always entertaining and not dry like a cabin air filter video sounds like it would be. You really have a knack for this vlogging thing. Keep it up!
Thanks man I really appreciate the kind words! I love making these videos and always like to hear that people enjoy them. I am glad that I am not boring and was able to keep you entertained brother!! 👊🏼
Really enjoy your videos, I’m doing maintenance I never even attempted before. Didn’t come from a mechanically inclined family but getting there thanks to you!
That is awesome to hear James!! I am glad my videos gave you the confidence to grab the toolbox and get to working on the truck. Will have more out very soon of the ol Beast!
Thanks for sharing the knowledge. Just change mine. I have f250 6.2 , do you know about the fuel filter on this engine?? Where is it? How often do you replace it? Thanks again. Oh, how you clean/maintain a kn filter??
Nice job. Just had my second service at the Ford Dealership today (18,000 miles with a big trip pulling a 10K 5th wheel coming up) and they broke off one of the ends to the top fuel pump (very left hose) and got diesel fuel all over there floor. Very sloppy work. Cost was $177 for the fuel filters. They also told me my 2018 doesnt have a cabin filter and after watching this video I am going to go exploring to see if thats true or not. I have done all my work my entire life until now (I'm 60 years old) and took the extended warranty since getting into a diesel kinda freaked me out a bit. But watching your excellent videos makes it look very easy and wont be a issue at all. I was just concerned about them potentially not honoring warranty work if I do it myself.
So today I go into the glove box area and low and behold there is my cabin air filter which is filthy. (Thanks again for the great easy to follow video!) So the guy in the service department at the Ford Dealer told me I didnt have one in my car. This is exactly why I have done my own maintenance for the last 40 years because of the trust factor. I just figured getting older and in retirement I could have treated myself. Looks like I will be doing the work again for the foreseeable future on my Super Duty until my body completely fails. At least I will know that it will be done correctly.
Great step by step video! Dealer tried to sell me a new filter and "AC evaporator cleaning" service yesterday, the sum of which approached $160. Seems to me if you change out the cabin air filter the need for an evap cleaning would be very rare. Upper glove box is a good place for wrap around sunglasses that don't fit in the overhead console. Also they stay cooler in that location. Finally, love the maintenance log. I've kept one for years. It's a great selling feature if you sell the vehicle yourself. In my log I keep fuel purchases in the front and starting from the back page keep all my other maintenance and accessory installs. Two thumbs up!!
We have almost exact same truck. Have you considered katskin seat covers? I absolutely love mine and most people like the look of mine over the stock leather. $700 well spent.
This is a shot in the dark but can you unplug the air bag switch off? Mine must have been installed wrong and doesn’t have enough slack to “let it hang”.
I stumbled on this and never gave it a thought. I hope my '03 250 super duty is not going to be too much of a challenge. thanks for the educational video
I do the same with maintenance notes but I input them in my notes app on my phone. Saves to the cloud so I’ll always have the info if I lose it. Nice videos even though I don’t have a Ford.
You put the K&N in upside down. Read the instructions. The “shelf” as you called it goes at the bottom. Figure 9 in the K&N instructions shows you that the V# and the “K&N” logo will be legible when installed correctly.
@moostang We have sunglasses and safety glasses and protein bars that we keep in the truck, so that is what we put in the extra compartment. Thank you for the video. I used it to change the cabin filter a few days ago. I will have to look into the washable filter options. I like using genuine parts when I can, but we are also into investing in sustainable/creation caring products where it makes the most sense. Thanks!
Great video, however you might be in error on one thing the way your filter might be upside down. I called K&N Tech Support and they informed me that after you install the filter you should be able to read the K&N logo, Made in the USA, and Filter model number which in our case is the BF2049 as normal not upside down. In the instructions and on their website it shows it to be installed the way I just explained.
Thank you for watching and for the kind words. I love to share the information I have found to make it easier for others to learn and grow from. Happy to see it recognized and to know it is working. 🙌🏻
3:25 What do I keep in there? That's our "Covid 19" box as we call it. Facemasks hand sanitizer and wipes. Not too long ago that wouldn't have been a thing. Oh the times we live in...
where did you get the pry tool ? Why on earth did ford make this so hard to change , lol.. Hardest of any vehicle Ive owned to date but yet to tackle as I just hit 20K on my 250. Sitting here waiting for the fedex truck to come today to deliver my custom fitted Carhartt seat covers. takes about 2 /3 weeks after ordering as they custom make these. thanks for sharing the videos.
I subscribe to u channel Cuz got a lariat 19 ..learning from u how to do my .maintenance.. Question u ever made how to change the engine oil ? On the 6.7
I keep a pair of mechanics gloves for loading/unloading, etc. and a couple of microfiber cloths for quick dash/console wipe downs. Not too useful for much more.
No additional noise under hood, dash reading .5 - 1 better mpg. I did Not get the optional corner foam piece they sell that the OEM filter has glued on. For the cabin filter make sure you use the correct cleaning kit from K&n.
Ty took little longer . Turns out who ever did filter last never put back that rubber nub , bent the plastic tabs in back and never put Bach the safety strap .
I put my insurance and registration in the top compartment so I do not have to open the glove compartment where a gun might be and freak a policeman out...

Thank you for posting this. (4:19) Same rubber part fell out on mine. This video helped me put it back where it belongs.
Almost a year now, have you cleaned the filter yet?
How does it look? Wondering how well the K & N filter works compared to the paper filter?
Just did mine in less than 10 minutes! Thanks for an excellent video! Old one was diiiiirty!

Thanks, man. I'm sure you just saved me a few hundred bucks. New K&N installed.
In that little compartment above my glove box I keep a few chain repair links some pens and reg and insurance cards
Stop spending my money now I need this.
Hahaha!!!! This is how I feel every time I crack open the owners manual.
I do the same with maintenance notes but I input them in my notes app on my phone. Saves to the cloud so I’ll always have the info if I lose it. Nice videos even though I don’t have a Ford.
Always run the blower after installing the filter and filter door before reinstalling everything else to make sure there isn't any blow-by
You put the K&N in upside down. Read the instructions. The “shelf” as you called it goes at the bottom. Figure 9 in the K&N instructions shows you that the V# and the “K&N” logo will be legible when installed correctly.

Great video! I really appreciate you explaining everything in detail,it made the process that much easier! ❤️
Still using the K&N cabin filter if so how’s it holding up?
What is the part number of the K&N cabin air filter?
What's the HP increase switching to a K&N? Got to be at least 200 hp
Its 348 hp increase so 440 stock HP plus 348hp comes out to 34,977 hp.
Joking lol its probably 5-10hp increase if that
@@dickfitswell3437 haha well probably 0 hp since its the cabin air filter.
That was super easy. By the way, The little compartment above the glove box is where I keep Koozies!
Thanks for the video. I skimmed thru and did it in less than 5 mins!
The enginerd that thought it would be a good idea to bury the cabin air filter without having to take apart the dash should be FIRED immediately!
They do this so you'll pay someone else to do it!
I use that compartment above the glove box for my glock mags and ammo. Lol. They fit pretty well.
Great video, however you might be in error on one thing the way your filter might be upside down. Awesome job on all ur links, very helpful, nice to see someone that likes to do quality work.
Thank you for watching and for the kind words. I love to share the information I have found to make it easier for others to learn and grow from. Happy to see it recognized and to know it is working. 🙌🏻
Do I really need the filter? I’ve been having visitors move in and use the filter as a mouse house.
Just changed it. Now my AC blows full blast!
How’s it working now?
Have you changed it again? How does it look?
Phenomenal video. Installed my filter in about 6 minutes!! Thanks much!
Can you get to the evaporator temperature sensor using this procedure??
Does the F250 super duty have a cabin filter? 2015
Nice information. it took me less than 10 minutes to complete the task.
Could this cause the ac to barely blow air when it’s on max if filter is not changed?
3:25 What do I keep in there? That's our "Covid 19" box as we call it. Facemasks hand sanitizer and wipes. Not too long ago that wouldn't have been a thing. Oh the times we live in...
Same
just ordered my filter this evening. looking forward to the install. thanks for the info
What about 2016 F250 diesel??
where did you get the pry tool ? Why on earth did ford make this so hard to change , lol.. Hardest of any vehicle Ive owned to date but yet to tackle as I just hit 20K on my 250. Hey man here is the pry tool! Thanks for watching the videos. Ford is crazy with location of this. Lol.
Plastic Pry Tools - amzn.to/2GLiKk1

Question u ever made how to change the engine oil ? On the 6.7
how many miles were on the truck when you replaced this filter?
Hey Shane it was right around 24,500 miles.
Well done video! Big help for this task.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks ...part # ?
I keep a pair of mechanics gloves for loading/unloading, etc. and a couple of microfiber cloths for quick dash/console wipe downs. Not too useful for much more.
My company truck is a 2018 4 door 4x4 and I keep pens, markers, and small random work stuff in it
Great job on explaining the process!!
Where is the washable
filter information ?
Just put one in along with the K&n for the 6.7
Jay were you able to hear anymore turbo sounds or engine noises with the K&N Filter under the hood?
No additional noise under hood, dash reading .5 - 1 better mpg. I did Not get the optional corner foam piece they sell that the OEM filter has glued on. For the cabin filter make sure you use the correct cleaning kit from K&n.
I was hoping maybe from outside it would make the engine sound a bit tougher. Yes sir I will use K&N specific cleaners for the filter. Good Call!
Sean, thank you for sharing.
Thanks for doing this video. It took me less than 10 min,
Great video. I just ordered my filter on Amazon.
but what is better blow more air or what
Better filtration, it’s cleanable and reusable.
Great video, I just replaced mine with your help.
Ford 350 diésel es igual? 2017
I keep spare sunglasses and business cards for takeout, towing, service, etc.
Geeezzz they can make it any harder to change cabin air filter the hell !!!
15 minute job....... Thanks for the tutorial!!!
You forgot to oil the filter
I keep hp Guage in there and truck air chuck
Did you happen to have a rubber smell after install?
Top glove box, cigar and lighter!
Thank you this was very helpful
Love these trucks just saw a video from power strokes they say these diesels get tired around 90 thousand waiting on 2020 great video
neilpro18 No vehicle gets “tired” at 90k miles of regular use, otherwise the company wouldn’t be in business
Next purchase for my truck
Awesome thank you
I’m going to hire you for my thumbnail model 😉😘😍
I charge a lot!!!! LOL!
I pay well ...
Thanks
Anytime Nick!
Ty took little longer . Turns out who ever did filter last never put back that rubber nub , bent the plastic tabs in back and never put Bach the safety strap .
My small compartment keeps my safety meeting snacks organized.
Great job!
Thanks!
My top glove box i keep my plow controller
I’d buy a used vehicle from this guy any day
SunGlasses in the upper compartment
I put my insurance and registration in the top compartment so I do not have to open the glove compartment where a gun might be and freak a policeman out...
Thank you sir great video
Great video
Time for Katzkin leather
My interior in my xlt (katzkin leather) is in my opinion nicer than the lariat leather. Must do you won’t regret it
Derek C how much did you pay ??
