How does someone get to use a car for 16 months for free? Makes zero sense! It’s so annoying when judge Mathis asks a question then don’t let them talk and yells over them then yells his judgement before they can even finish arguing their case. No other judge would have ever let her get 5k back when she used the car everyday for 16 months! Thank god she don’t have to actually pay the 5k judgment n the show pays it!

I agree that he should not have given her the money back because she used the car but I understand he was only enforcing the last written agreement they made. My position is that why didn’t she just give her the account number? all she had to do was follow up every month and make sure she paid it on time. I think that the payment probably was 250 and not 350 and she was making her a little pocket change and did not want her to know. Paying parking tickets have nothing to do with paying the car note to the finance company. And the defendant still has the car so obviously, it’s not being repossessed. sounds like a messy azz friend got in between them about this car. Not sure about that part.

Actually, I think the problem started with their agreement about the car from the beginning. He did exactly what every Judge will do when there is a written agreement. This is a pure example why people should stop doing Hood agreements! I worked in the legal field for over 16yrs….it’s always the same thing! We agreed verbally! No Judge is going to take a verbal contract. Always put it in writing….even through a text, email, on a napkin or even toilet paper! And if you make a new arrangement/agreement, put that in writing also! When she said okay, I’ll give you your money back that was the new amended contract. This is a good lesson to learn! Here’s another free lesson for you…..if a person puts the car in their name and then gets mad and wants to take it from you….that is called an illegal repossession! You can sue them for ALLLL your money back! You can not repo a car unless the payment has been late at least 90 days, thats 3 months straight, in a row. Example: if I pay you August, and miss September and October, then November, then miss December and January, that is still not 90 days straight! And also, if you let someone move in with you, and you decide to put them out……you must go to court to evict them. You can’t just get mad and say get out! Nope! That’s called an illegal eviction. Best things are do not give cars to people without a written contract….and if you let someone live with you do not allow them to receive mail at your house. Write a month to month contract! Okay…..there’s your free legal information. Stop practicing Hood Law‼️😮

why would she not give her the account number to pay direct to the finance company? All plaintiff has to do is contact the finance company each month and make sure she’s paying it on time. The payment probably was 250 and not 350. that’s probably why she didn’t want to give it to her. she bout was making her an extra $100 a month pocket change off that car. Her paying tickets had nothing to do with giving her the account number to make car payments. I am surprised Judge Mathis gave the defendant money back as she used the car. They should’ve never made an agreement to give them their money back and exchange for the car, she should’ve just gave that girl the account number and let her paid directly. Like I said the payments probably wasn’t even $350 and she didn’t want her to know. And it couldn’t have been on Repo list because she still has the car.
