@@loke801 they also neglected to add the grease gun the whole time, while adding three prototype SMGs that never saw service, including a prototype bullpup, which I don't believe ever got past a few prototypes. There's also the Cooper carbine, in which gun historians cannot even verify if it had a empty mag bolt hold, because there's not enough available information about the hyde carbine

Mp 40 is really one of the best designed and built submachine guns.
Nice video and nice MP-40! I'm very happy to have one myself. Mine is a rare early production "slab-sided" one. Made by FXO (Haenel) in 1941. "Slab-sided" means it doesn't have the ribs on the magazine-well. I have "slab-sided" magazines for it also. It costed a fortune, but I needed the thing for my WW2 gun collection.
Love the clack-clack of that gun when it fires!
I've wondered what that, "resting bar", was for around 20years. Gratitude. Ur a font of knowledge!
It's not just for vehicles. Very useful in urban combat too.
you can flip that bar to hook in the Weapon of Panzer´s

*It would be cool if someone invented a belt feeding mechanism for the PPSH and the soldier would wear a bag attachment/backpack 🎒 where the belt ammo could be stored and fed out from.. I wonder if anything like that is even possible?

So gorgeous. Some guns are timeless.
Half of those guns are German.
MP40 - hands down the most iconic submachine gun of WW2. And the reason is.. it is very controllable and accurate. The lower rate of fire combined with a long slide and barrel mean that your bullets go where you want them to. This is 9mm pistol caliber so I wouldn't use it past 100 yards and pen power isn't something you can bank on. Fires from an open bolt.
Before this video, I always imagined mp40s as that basic cheap infantry weapon for the “evil guys”.

It's Polyoxybenzylmethylenglycolanhydride, better known as Bakelite or plastic.

A couple of funny things about the use of this model in IJATRoTLA. One, the gun wasn't in use yet in 1938. Two, the Nazis held the gun with their secondary hand near the top of the magazine, which could have resulted in unintentional ejection of said magazine, while the local thug who fired on Indy in the alley, positioned his hand under the barrel, which is the proper way to hold it.

My brother in law made his own 9m grease gun just by looking at some blue prints on line in his garage with no gun making skills to speak using stuff he got from Lowes. It was very well done and worked fine we took it out in to the woods and shot it several times . Worked fine. Full auto. He sold it about 4 years ago to someone
