Probably was a soldier who got shot . Most times guns were left with ammo in it. The alive soldiers didn't pickup dead soldiers weapons very much.

I was kinda just waiting for them to say “unfortunately we are unable to keep this.” And when they didn’t say anything about it I was kind of relieved
