I finally have caught up on ALL of your amazing Ordinary Adventures, from the beginning till this great video, it took me 6 months!! This is the first vid of yours I’ve watched in real-time as it were. Thank you both for everything you do. I especially enjoy Peter’s cinematography, Kitra’s editing skills and the stars if this channel… Pixel & Gizmo of course. 😂 I just visited this wonderful exhibit last Thursday, and many thanks for doing what you always do so well!
So glad you guys went back and filmed this video. I was hoping you would. Really amazing to see all of those original Disneyland items and so well preserved! Great job, as always. Thanks for doing such awesome and fun content! I would get the People Mover poster... Such fond memories of riding that with my dad when I was a kid. That Main Street Electrical Parade window display is awesome.
Thank you guys for going back and filming at this exhibit! It’s so freaking coo! My boyfriend and I do that same game of what we would buy at these kind of auctions. For me it would be the Tiki birds (favorite ride). Love you guys and happy belated birthday to Pixel!
😯😯😯 Memories... had that 1958 map and lost it. Wow, it;s been a hot sec since I had that map on my wall for decades.🧐😎🤠 I also had my Davey Crockett racoon skin cap and Indian headdress until they disintegrated.😓 Yea, I had the creepy Donald hat... squeeze his bill and and he quacks. I saw it last in a box long gone.
Wow we just finished watching.. this took me back.. the first time I went to Disneyland was in 1980 i think.. 😊😅. Great now we are watching Dislyfofours.. our other faves.. 😊👍
22:41 "American The Beautiful" was a Kodak 360 viewing room. Where you would be put in the middle of the action. It consisted of Disneyland Parade, Grand Cannon, various national parks and so on. It went away around the late 80's and NOW Buzz Lightyear ride that occupies the space and also encompass the late "Journey Through Interspace" ride that disappeared in the mid to late 80's and became a Temp showcase for the Mars rover mission.
Thank you so much for filming this and showing all the stuff up for auction! This was so amazing to watch! I remember tomorrow land being that way, and going on the sky buckets with my dad when I was a kid! So awesome so many memories! ❤❤❤
This is Déjà-vu a couple of years ago there was another auction with the same stuff for auction (at least it looks like same stuff) Mr Cheezy pop covered it. Its amazing how much was collected! 💜💜💜😍
I was wondering if you guys would cover this or not, as being in your backyard, it seemed a given, but it was looking less likely as more time passed. I grew up in So Cal and visited Disneyland several times a year growing up, and this collection takes me back. I wish I would have been in the area to see it in person, but the catalog online was super detailed, so that had to fit the bill. So many great collectibles, some I knew about, tons I didn't, but just an amazing walk through the history of the brand and how great and amazing things used to be.
@@OrdinaryAdventures Thanks for going that extra mile, as I'm waiting on my wife to get home so we can watch your video together later today. I've watched several of these so far, some even with Joel talking about some stuff. But seeing you guys talking Disney stuff is always a treat.
Truly a Disney fan’s dream to own such awesome memorabilia! All the HM stuff… so much history and SO cool. Loved the Tokyo Disneyland memorabilia, esp that opening day guide book, very cool! Thanks for another great vid, guys! ❤
Just purchased my first Bies travel Luggage!!! Thank you Peter and Kitra! Looking forward to using the luggage when I go back traveling with my family!
Such an amazing collection of Disney memorabilia and so glad that you took the time to go back and film it. Now where’s my cheque book for that Doom Buggy 🤣🤣
Captain Hook’s Galley (AKA: Chicken of the Sea Pirate Ship) - I not only ate there numerous times (the Tuna Boat and clam chowder were my go-tos), but as a Custodial Bus Boy CM I worked there cleaning the tables. I loved it because the tables were in a grotto behind the pirate ship and next to Casey Jr. and the area had lots of trees so it was shaded during hot summers. It’s kind of fun sometime to watch many of the Disneyland (and Disney World) bloggers saying “I didn’t know about this or that”. I first went to Disneyland in 1959 at age two, Disney World in 1978 so these things are all memories for me. But it’s also frustrating too when some Disney vloggers often will get historical facts totally wrong - Not you guys that I have ever seen, but a certain vlogger who likes to “Bake”. I’ll leave it at that….
That Alien Encounter ride was no joke! I went on it when I was 13 and it scared the crap out of me!! 😱 So weird that it was a ride at Disney World lol. Thanks for the cool video guys!
Really loved this video, so glad you went back and filmed! My top item for sure is the Main Street Electrical Parade sign. We have some vintage attraction posters (reproduction) hanging up around our house, some of those on auction really caught my eye as well... like that Primeval World one you highlighted.
That was so cool to see. What an amazing collection! There was a blow mold machine, like the one in the collection, that was at the Eco Tarium in Worcester MA. It made dinosaurs when I was a kid. I had a couple of them. I think my parents threw them out when I first moved out years ago. At any rate, so cool to see. Thank You for taking us on your adventure! 😁
I went to WDW when they had the alien encounter ride, I was about 16 I think, and let me tell you, that was a ride that freaked me out. The way u sat in the chair and couldn’t move and it would “touch” you and u could feel it breath on you. Yea.. a memory I never forgot lol
Not only did the Space Mountain vehicles glow but there were cut outs in the walls in the queue where you could see them going around in the dark! I miss that
Alien Encounter was SO scary. My brothers and I were little and went in it with my dad. We got so scared we slipped out of the harnesses and ran…leaving my dad. 😂
OMG when the alien would appear in the tube and then they acted like it was escaping and made it pitch black in there. Then the speakers in the seats would make you think it was right behind you and then puff air on you as if it was breathing on your neck. I was 13 and forever traumatized 🫣
I once bought a old suitcase from a thrift store and while cleaning it I found a old paper ticket to Disney land inside it. I forget what year it is but it’s really cool and I still have it.

So I used to drive those mini Jungle Cruise boats at the hotel. You could sail by parts of islands where things like a fire would break out and an elephant would squirt water to put out the fire. Or you sail past a gorilla and it shakes the wooden bridge that some explorers are on. Very fun. THen when they moved that to Rainforest Cafe they didnt bring any of the gags with them. Quite boring. I also at at the Capn Hook chicken of the sea restaurant. Wow I'm old.
I recently went to a antique shop a few miles from me in Connecticut and I found a 1943 copy of Goofy goes camping. It’s not in wonderful shape but that is WW2 era art.
Wow! That's such an amazing collection! It'd be so cool to see all of that in person. I think they had some of it at the D23 Expo last year- I remember seeing the Hitchhiking ghosts. The tram to the Disneyland Hotel was not replaced by the monorail. When I first went to Disneyland in 1994 both were in use, and I rode the hotel tram for the last time in 1995. The OG hotel trams didn't go away until construction of DCA began and the OG parking lot went away. Some trams continued during the construction, going the long way around from the Harbor side of the esplanade and going down a path parallel to Katella and back around through to the Paradise Pier/Pixar Hotel. After that, those trams were retired (I think - the path certainly was) and the current tram system began its evolution with the opening of DCA 1.0.
Hi I hope you guys are doing well and that everything is going well for you and that you're having a fun time on your trip. I also hope you guys have a happy weekend and a happy Saturday.

Oh, I wish I knew about this before. It ends tomorrow and I loved the large public auction display a couple years ago. My wife is a huge Dumbo fan and I was able to buy an original animated cell from the Dumbo movie for only $75.
Thank you guys. If you are going to the auction, it would be really cool to see what all these items sold for. That would be awesome. If you can't record, probably not, just do a video saying the final sale prices of them.
WOW what a life time of collecting in one space! This is really cool to see so much preserved. I'd love to have the little devils. And maybe you guys will add to your own collection if possible?
We visited this past week! So impressive! Blown away by this collector and his dedication! I felt sad a bit wondering why he is auctioning these pieces! I have gone to Disneyland since 1971 and I recognized some of the items! Loved your video and the history behind the items! Did you purchase anything? Haha! I purchased a Tinkerbell Sketch. Love her!
10:50 that poster is from the 60s, California had desegregated a little more than a decade prior, I was wondering how they had Louis performing with the other stars without causing a ruckus before doing a quick google search 😅
It's so wild to me. Parking was $0.25. Now, if I remember correctly, minimum wage was $0.75 an hour around that time. So $0.25 was certainly a lot more than what we see it as today. But, it is worth noting that it cost a THIRD of an hour's wage to park back then. Modern parking prices are certainly higher than a third of even the highest minimum wage in the country.
I recently found this channel and I love it!! You two always have such a bright and fun outlook at life and I love it. Keep making videos, it brightens my day when I get a notification 🫶🏻
Thanks for doing this video! As someone who lives very far away, it was great to see footage of the collection. There were so many cool items. Did you guys bid on anything?
I used to work the canoes as well. I remember having the worlds longest V suntan on my chest. Also yes those shoes were horrible and pants did stain. I loved the hat though.
I LOVED Alien Encounter! It was so unexpected that it genuinely was scary the first time I went on it. I don’t think the seats can be called vehicles though, since you don’t GO anywhere. It’s just to keep you in place.
@@OrdinaryAdventures Could you just imagine NOT tying people down there? Oh my god, what amazing chaos that would’ve been! Children and adults screaming. Some redneck trying to beat the animatronic to death. Everyone running in different directions in the pitch black. And one dad still sitting, grumbling, “I paid thousands of dollars for THIS?”
I have been trying to figure out what the ride was that scared me as a kid when I went with family and you showed that alien encounter thing and omg you figured it out! So crazy I have been trying to figure this out for years now!
Ill be back to edit ❤ honestly having that painting from haunted mansion would be sooo cool! Definitely love that and the tower of terror stuff the most. Now i wanna see what alien encounter was like…?
Im so happy you decided to film this. Its insane, incredible and creepy all thats owned by 1 guy. Shady things must have occured to have some of this. 😂 JK But seriously those tall paintings were awesome, the cars ooooooo. I could be in there all day just staring at everything. 😱
Thanks for doing this video! As someone who lives very far away, it was great to see footage of the collection. There were so many cool items. Did you guys bid on anything?
We don’t think we are going to.
I used to work the canoes as well. I remember having the worlds longest V suntan on my chest. Also yes those shoes were horrible and pants did stain. I loved the hat though.
🛶
I LOVED Alien Encounter! It was so unexpected that it genuinely was scary the first time I went on it. I don’t think the seats can be called vehicles though, since you don’t GO anywhere. It’s just to keep you in place.
True
@@OrdinaryAdventures Could you just imagine NOT tying people down there? Oh my god, what amazing chaos that would’ve been! Children and adults screaming. Some redneck trying to beat the animatronic to death. Everyone running in different directions in the pitch black. And one dad still sitting, grumbling, “I paid thousands of dollars for THIS?”
There’s a Disney 100 museum in London opening October - don’t know if it’s in the US first for you to check out :)
Very cool
I have been trying to figure out what the ride was that scared me as a kid when I went with family and you showed that alien encounter thing and omg you figured it out! So crazy I have been trying to figure this out for years now!

Well if I wasn't jealous before (I was) I'm definitely jealous now! My purchase would be all the Tower of Terror items!
That door was cool
@@OrdinaryAdventures Oh gosh yeah, I'd have it as my bedroom door in a heartbeat!
This is like the ampm of auctions… Too much good stuff.

What do you mean?
@@OrdinaryAdventures ended up looking up what made that ride so scary haha 😂
Im so happy you decided to film this. Its insane, incredible and creepy all thats owned by 1 guy. Shady things must have occured to have some of this. 😂 JK
But seriously those tall paintings were awesome, the cars ooooooo. I could be in there all day just staring at everything. Yeah the trash cans are really cool. Seeing all the maps layed out in different pant throughout the years so beautiful. Thats super cool, wonder if he owns the Buzzy animatronic.
Thanks so much for watching. I don’t think they ever recovered buzzy
I had that Donald Duck hat when I was a kid! 😂
