Duck bill rock and the Utah hoodoos
This was so hard to watch and I honestly am not surprised, yet it's just heartbreaking.

As devastating as mother nature can be, nothing compares to the stupidity of human beings.
Forest fires were much worse before us. Thanks to our massive deforestation efforts, forest fires arent as bad! Yay us lol
@@alexandercanella4479 Define worse--because before us there was no property damage, no loss of infrastructure, no costs associated with extinguishing the fire, etc. Whereas, before us, mother nature was just doing what it does so I don't understand how it could've been worse when the damage isn't comparable.
Or are you implying that forests were more vast and resulted in larger fires? I don't think that qualifies as worse because, again, the severity isn't only measured in size.
@@inmyruins Exactly, severity is measured by the relativity of damage to the size of what was damaged

Need to add a special category for the "influencers" who feel their social media accounts are more important than preserving fragile environments, monuments, etc. I swear we're like 20 years from being full on Idocracy.
I really think that we're there now. We're definitely living through the stupidest period in human history.
And there is no restriction on them breeding.
I've experienced more stupidity in the past 10 years than in the 58 years preceding.
Not you calling people stupid and then spelling idiocracy wrong 🤣
@@lizskateschicago lol, 100 % did 🤣
Ultron spent 5 minutes online, and instantly wanted to destroy all humanity. These people are some of the reasons why.
And my friends wonder why I've lost all faith in humanity.
I don’t blame you
Those natural wonders were so beautiful, that is, until they were desecrated by people wanting to be bold and daring. 💔💔💔
Your way to kind … bold and daring not at all lmfao🤣
Their actions ruined the fun times for us! Now we cannot take tours on places like Uluru because of their stupidity!
Their ignorance destroyed landmarks that most of them had no purpose ever setting foot near! That's the good ol' human race!
And yet it turned out they were idiots!
The loss of those magnificent falls was really upsetting.
I suppose on the plus side it's probably possible to restore them if the dam is ever removed....
I f*cking despise people sometimes. As a avid hiker and photographer this video did nothing but infuriate me over the selfish uncaring nature of so many people that I swear gets worse every day.
Do you use gas to get to your hiking spots?
@@alexandercanella4479 maybe they do but I’m sure they don’t intentionally vandalize landmarks that people are intentionally trying to preserve 😒

It breaks my heart as an animal lover.
not a biologist, but this hurt to watch idiots destroy nature

I'm sure our Creator is sadden by the virus humanity has become on His earth
As an electrician, this hurts my heart too.
As a biologist-enthusiast, the ever-growing pestilence of humans on this planet is breaks my heart, and will be the death of us all.
Here in Florida we had a methhead burn down “The Senator”. The worlds largest and oldest cypress tree. They were doing meth under the tree and caught it on fire... I live near that park and remember seeing the smoke and the sky going grey.
You gotta move outta Florida. It's getting weirder every day there
At UBC in Vancouver, there existed a row of very old red cedars, if anyone knows anything about them, as they age their base hollows. An arborist deemed them unsafe and cut the whole lot of them down. There are trees in nature that grow hollow, I wonder if that arborist will want to cut them all down as well. That arborist that had the red cedars cut down should give up his degree and go back to school.
@@ricahaurymn Sharks are potentially dangerous. Maybe there's a marine biologist somewhere that thinks they should all be annihilated.
Thank you for mentioning the Senator. I live in central Florida too and that stupid druggy burned it down before I even got a chance to see it.
Luckily there are still some other ancient and breathtaking trees at Big Tree Park but supposedly not as great as the Senator.

The “activist”who made cuts in the golden tree should’ve had it fall on him.
That would have been karma.xx
While the chainsaw cutting his legs off, he cut the tree down so it would be a fair trade.
What was he protesting?
Yes, he was one of those fake nature lovers because if he actually cared about nature he wouldn't have even breathed hard at the tree let alone cutting it in any fashion. Should have gotten major prison time for it.
Well, he "disappeared" on his way to trial and "hasn't been seen since". Euphemism maybe?
Yesterday, I went to a local park which has peacocks. While photographing these majestic birds, I saw some clowns stoning these birds and laughing at them while they were running...
Humans should be ashamed to call themselves Earth's caretakers.
While in Maui many years ago, I saw people holding sea turtles under water so they couldn't surface for air.
I went to an aquarium where they had stingrays that you could feed and they would let you touch the top of them. Of course some jerk was slapping them. We got him kicked out but I hope he got some charges on the way out the door!!!

My attitude towards bath time.
One of the saddest photographs I've ever seen was the aerial of a section of desert in some western state. The topography was so geologically stable that the tracks left by a wagon train in the 1840s were still clearly visible. Unfortunately they were being obliterated by dune buggy tracks which crossed them indiscriminately.
Ah, I know a place like that. They have a roadside pulloff where you can still see part of tracks, but surrounded by dune buggy tracks. And down the road a couple of miles is the county dump.
Every time I watch videos of turists climbing Ayer's Rock, I imagine Aboriginee tourists climbing Western churches, taking selfies from the roofs and hitting the bells in the bell towers.
In 1995 I visited Uluru. I could feel the spirit of the place. When some members of my traveling group tried to force me to climb up, I told them this: I would be upset if some freeclimbers where climbing the Colon Kathedrale (I'm german) and breaking down the fragile ornaments on the towers. Not respecting a holy place and damaging it. They looked at me, like morons do. Not understanding. Oh, and they where Americans.
@@juttalio1664 Genau!
Ayers Rock is a natural formation not owned by, and not due to the labor of, anyone.
Aboriginals may or may not regard it as spiritual but they didn't create it and their emotions have no priority over anyone else.
@@lauriekeats8538 So, with this attitude, if you and your local folks had, say, a natural well that was considered sacred, I had all the right to p*ss into it because it was a natural formation, not a man-made artefact?
Besides, the aboriginies have a prior 50,000 year claim to Uluru, so you'll have to wait your turn anyway.
A holy place is a holy place, no matter if it's build by nature or by man. Learn some respect, please.
@@sneakyfox4651 re: " So, with this attitude, if you and your local folks had, say, a natural well that was considered sacred, I had all the right to p*ss into it because it was a natural formation, not a man-made artefact?" Depend what you mean by "had. If its on land I do not own then I do not have exclusive rights to it, so whether you can piss into it is only a question of whether pissing into a natural well is against the law; if its not, then whether I consider it sacred or not is irrelevant - you can piss in it to your heart's content. If I own the land however, then its private property and obviously you can't come into it and piss into the well.
Uluru is not owned by anyone, its public property, and therefore for the enjoyment of everyone. If a small minority choose not to enjoy it because of some make believe that's their choice, but it shouldn't override the majority's enjoyment of it.
Well...I think we know by now that being a scout leader is NOT a guarantee of good character.
The U2 Joshua Tree in the JT national Forest. That iconic tree on album cover was destroyed by some idiots. Quite sad

A lighthouse keeper in the 1800's sent his naturalist friend in England a strange bird his cat had killed.
The naturalist realized this was an undiscovered species found only on this island. The bird was flightless as there were no predators on the island before the arrival of this one, single house cat.
The naturalist set off at once for the island but by the time he arrived he was unable to find a single example.
The cat had killed every last one of the birds before the naturalist arrived.
so sad, the cat doesnt even know what it did
@@cadietuc Of course not. It was a cat. It was just doing what cat's do.
This wasn't the cat's fault.
Sad but it was just a cat being a cat. They're hunters. At my last apartment complex there was a rodent problem in the building we lived in. Our apartment was the only one that never saw one. Other people had cats or dogs but still had problems. We had cats and a dog. We never saw one mouse. Not even a single dropping.
Not to say I miss the empty streets during lockdown, but gotta say, I do not miss tourists doing stupid sh!t in my city…
You forgot the last official European wilderness in northern Europe, currently being destroyed for windfarms & mining for rare earths to build them. In fact every wild space in Europe is now in danger of being industrialised for windfarms, many have already been destroyed, including the seas.
B.S.
@@kevinth66 I have toured the last European wildernesses in my campervan, in Finland/Norway & Sweden (all twice) & seen the destruction for myself, have you? I went up to Nordkapp (top of Europe) & down the old Mannerhiem line through Finland, also up/down route 17 in Norway. I also visited most of Sweden including the North of Sweden where the iron ore mining takes place, have you ?? No you have not left mommy's basement.
this. here in america liberals want to put wind farms everywhere when a singular nuclear reactor will do the job of 400 turbines (and that’s if the turbines are spinning at maximum speed 24/7) not to mention NPPs (which have between 4-8 reactors, so between 1600 and 3400 wind turbines worth of power) only take up about 1.3 sq miles on average and are every bit as clean as wind. The ONLY drawback to nuclear is the waste, which we have already figured out how to turn into usable fuel and are working on streamlining that.
@@westoneuler4065 Yeah but too many uninformed people have an irrationale fear of nuclear reactors so the liberals have to turn to wind and solar as clean energy alternatives. In politics people often push for the stuff they can get away with, not what is best for the people (and that goes for all sides of the political specturm).
Or not. Windfarms are not a major danger to anything....
The three sisters at Goblin Valley are simply stunning. If you ever get the chance to go, go. I know everybody raves about the national parks in Southern Utah, but the state parks are something special too.

The Aral sea is the saddest one😔
Agreed
The destruction of the Aral Sea was worse than the rest of these combined.
It also seems like the easiest to fix since it was caused by diverting two rivers. Those rivers could be diverted back to their original path. It can't bring back the extinct fish, but it would cause the ecosystem to otherwise repair itself in time.
Once again, this makes me agree with Thanos a little bit more.
That thumbnail is hilarious. Dude's just so proud of himself.
The only tree for miles- how the HELL can you hit it on accident?
Another reason why humans don’t deserve to be ‘caretakers’ of the earth.
Not to be that kind of person but... Even if God or the Universe assigned leadership of Nature to humankind, it's a blasphemy and vile deed to defy Nature with these destructive behaviors. So yeah, these ignoramus don't deserve to be caretakers of Nature.
"According to Dante's Inferno, Art and Nature are daughters of God and violence/defiance against these is condemable to the 7th circle of Hell - Violence"
Were not caretakers of anything. Natures gonna do what natures gonna do. More species have gone extinct than the amount that are around today. A majority of those species went extinct long before humans were even around. But, we can certainly try. Its not a question of preservation, its a question of how we attempt to preserve. Idk a lot about conservation. But, i’ll use an example as it pertains to U.S forestry. If we cut all the trees down than they cannot burn. But, obviously we wont have any trees if we do that. The opposite perspective proposes that we don’t do any type of management to our forests, and leave them be. Unfortunately, forests WILL burn (with or without humans) and we still wont have any trees. I think that the best solution is a marriage of the two. We manage, we log, plant, make firebreaks, isolate old growth, eliminate tinder undergrowth, etc etc. Humans need natural resources. Forests are like any crop. You cannot grow barley if your fields are not maintained. I think people tend to forget that there is no such thing as irreversible damage as far as nature is concerned. If we destroy our resources than we will either perish, or severely diminish as a species.
@@paperdo Not to argue with you or anything... But the rest of the sentences you've just implied opposes the very first sentence you've said. Being caretaker of Nature is more than just preservation, it includes manipulation of what won't and what will be. Species go extinct, yes that's nature of things... Only for better one's to take place and we humans are much evolved and logical than other animals, which is why we survived for so long.
But you're right on lots of points, our relation with Nature had to be like a marriage, mutual and benefiting both parties. We preserve trees, wilderness, and more and we benefit from it like food, shelter, and more. Like to a spouse you love, you'll get that love back. Hurt it and it'll bite back tenfold.
Afterall, you can't spell caretaker without "care". And certainly, the lizards didn't care because they're just mass of flesh without logic or mind of it's own, just instincts.
Again, not invalidating your point.
@@paperdo This is me, responding to your first paragraph.
You're defending those people depicted in the video own stupidity and lack of common sense.
Many animals and plants have become extinct over the years simply for sport.
How many animals have gone extinct because a zoo wanted a live specimen or museum wanted a display?
As for what you stated afterwards, we to do more.
Now why would they light toilet paper on fire that's just totally stupid
The same happened in Corsica.
Had someone saying a group of nuts, driven by the panic over Covid, had filled a local barn with toilet paper. When restrictions were reduced they decided they didn't need it anymore and decided to set it on fire IN THE BARN. Cue barn burned to the ground and clean-up efforts to deal with the debris left behind.
Let's not forget about the Bioweapons the Soviets developed at Aralsk-7 in the Aral Sea
In Oregon, a 15 year old boy from Vancouver, Washington, decided to light off fireworks in the Columbia River Gorge in 2017. At the time there was a burn ban, and he and few friends took the fireworks, lit them, and dropped them into a canyon. The lit fireworks then started a fire, but soon started a large blaze in the gorge. By September 28th, 2017, the fire had consumed 48,831 acres of forest, and the fire was officially pronounced the fire 100% contained on November 30th, 2017. The fire threatened the Multnomah Falls Lodge, but was saved. The fire also burned Oneonta Tunnel and Canyon, burned parts of the original Columbia Gorge Highway, and burned more historic sites. After the fire was put out though, the damage continued. Due to the unstable trees, they had to be removed, and due to the heavy rain and snow falling, soil dislodged off the mountain and caused huge landslides. The fire was named the Eagle Creek Fire in October 2017.
This is why we can’t have nice things

There is an historic site close to our home in Wyoming...
Sheltered by a rock formation...there are circles of large rocks/stones... These rocks/stones were used by the Arapaho people... They placed these stones around the bottom of their teepees...as anchors...to keep the wind from toppling their teepees...
I visited the site in July 2017... I had traveled to Wyoming to visit my son’s family... Fortunately, I photographed the entire site...
A few months later...my son texted me asking if I had photos of the teepee circles? I sent him all of the photos...
He used the photos to restore the stone circles...that some ignorant person had scattered and destroyed... Ugh!!

In southern Albert in the Milk River Valley, is a park called Writing On Stone. The soft, sandstone walls of the badlands canyons were used for thousands of years, by First Nations, to record events and stories as carvings. One small mesa, a sort of grand gallery, with a wooden walkway circling it, has been overwritten with crude, modern vandalism, starting with settlers in the late 1800's and proceeding to the present day. Apart from a few inaccessible examples, the entire surface has been defaced.
