  • Studies on a tiny lake in Southern Ontario are showing dramatic human impacts on the environment. The Crawford Lake research project, which includes input from the Canadian Museum of Nature, may help designate a global site for a new geological epoch: the Anthropocene. Museum researcher Paul Hamilton describes how microscopic diatoms in the lake’s sediment are part of this important scientific story.
