Last video of 2021!!! Thanks for an incredible year. Happy New Year!
HAPPY 2022!! HAVE FUN
Man, a W12 Phaeton is on the car ownership bucket list. Literally the cheapest way to get an experience as close to a Bentley without Bentley pricetags.
Or u could by a 2005 bentley continental flying spur for like 44k
@@starsaber2002 yeah right, because spending 10k is the same as spending 44k. 👌
@@y4nnickschmitt or if u want a bentley not close to a bentley
@@starsaber2002 He wants a Phaeton to have the Bentley experience on a Budget. Suggesting something 4 times as expensive makes no sense
But you'll have Bentley maintenance costs!
Tedward, have you driven the Phaeton? That’s almost a legend.
HE MUST TRY IT FOR US!!! I demand it!! Lol
Why is it “almost”? Probably because it’s a luxury sedan from VW of all brands.
A 2018 vehicle with the same interior as one from 2006. It doesn't need screens everywhere or LED strips but when companies like Jaguar, who use to rely on keeping things as classic as possible, are moving forward it wouldn't kill Bentley to do so.
I like the manual gauges, personally I see the full LED screen gauges as another part that'll break and cost a ton to fix, but I think infotainment really needs an update, the screen looks the same as the old screens with the terrible touch screen that takes years to respond. Definitely needs a few updates to it especially for the price you're paying in comparison to other manufacturers
I love the led strips tbh
I feel you on that. As someone who has a deep disdain for the modern trend of plastering every vehicle in screens, I was kind of shocked to see how dated the interior of this thing is. I appreciate the attempt to keep things analogue and classic but it screams 2006 as you pointed out. It would certainly benefit from some modern appointments without going overboard.
@@MK4vDubbin It did get updated. This is the 2018 model, the current gen has a much more updated and attractive interior
The new flying spur has all that this is a 2018
You bringing up the W12 being a pain to service is a great point to think about when buying a Bentley. I've always wanted a big engine Bentley but now I'm leaning towards the V8s now. Great video Tedward!!! I hope you have a happy new year!
Happy New year!!!
even V8 is expensive to maintain lol.. but I live in Europe so maybe in US it's different
@@bayharborbutcher8132 every Bentley is expensive to maintain..
Ready? This Car is actually 2" Wider than the Mulsanne. Which makes it Ideal for cutting through that Everyday Traffic and those inconsiderate Double Parked Assholes !
Tedward with the best adult sized MatchBox cars. This Rolls is almost ALMOST stealthy-for a Rolls.
That’s because it’s not a Rolls Royce, it’s a Bentley.
@@bartwatts1921 no duh
Some might say the interior feels a bit dated for a 2018 car, but I don't know I like that more classical feel. It's not cutting edge technology like an a8 or else but I wouldn't want more from this. I like that that sweet v8 and gear changes like not effort. Give it a brighter interior and a deep blue, where do I sign (if only ahah) happy new Tedward as always thanks to you for sharing!
*And they made sure to put B's on everything*
You better *B* elieve it
I love how you can tell the engine from the badge, the red behind the B meaning V8 it’s pretty cool, also as a Lover of Breitlings watches it’s a special thing to see them in such fine cars as the centrepiece clocks
love it! quiet and smooth for the long haul and then a little V8 bark and handling when you fancy a boogie. I agree Tedward a fine line between involvement and cut-off.. I do love B's..
I can see through the video that this bentley is fast and handle well and it is beautiful a really nice car
Happy new year tedward next we gonna see more driving, happy year people 🙏🏾👊🏾
i have been waiting for this moment. This car is my inspiration.
Awd V8 Iconic British Brand with German refinement. This definitely seems like a car to get one day as a daily.
Uses 4.0T from Audi which is known for its reliability. And great mpg.
Now do a Phaeton :-) Love mine, '07 individual with full (And individual) options, 4 seater.
Happy new year!
Honestly, the interior looks pretty dated; I feel it could pass in something from the late 00’s/early 10’s. It’s not that it needs to have giant screens everywhere, more so that the screens that are there look very old.
My dad owned a 2004 phaeton, it was amazing
New Tedward video 🤩
It's such a weird sensation to see a POV Bentley video on UA-cam driving down the same roads I am on every day...
Call me old fashioned, but I do really appreciate a big analog speedo and tachometer! 😃
Honestly, that car is louder than I thought it would be. Either that, or your microphone is very sensitive. I definitely like the car much much more after the redesign. It just looks right, inside and out.
Love that you review older cars.
My favorite car UA-camr!
Tedward, your channel is a gold mine. If you used different thumbnails I guarantee you’d get a lot more traffic.
Happy New Year Tedward! If you ever get the chance, it would be interesting to see the new Hyundai Ioniq 5.
I have a 2014 W12 Flying Spur. Not perfect cars, but they do have a personality that is hard to match.
Thinking about buying one, what don’t you like about them?
@@PatKaz98 You shouldn't complain if you have one, but the gas mileage is poor to say the least. It is built like a freight train and everything is very solid and heavy, which I like. Also if possible, find one that has the NAIM audio system. Our Bentley convertible has it but the Flying Spur does not. Big difference in sound quality. You will get more attention driving a Bentley.
Love that it has the same rearview mirror as a Jetta :)
Happy new year bro thanks for another good year again this Bentley is the perfect way to end the year
This is just 4.0t A8L with Bentley logo on it. That motor is reliable af good move by Bentley
not forget to mention everything that looks metal in and on the car is metal. :)
Awesome vid man!🔥🔥
Ok
I love ❤️ your videos man please make snow driving videos i miss those bmw driving in snowing blizzard videos 😂
Still no snow yet this season
When you can't bench your own body weight, pretend your all powerful by buying this car.
Weird that the gear selector isn't electronic
Happy New Year’s Eve
How does this Bentley compare to a Mercedes W221/W222 S500? I always wondered how much better a (v8) Bentley is.
Thank you for all video's this year!
Well a friend of mine has a pre-facelift W222 S500L with the 4.7 V8 Bi-Turbo engine and 7G Tronic transmission it is ridiculously comfortable with the massaging heated and cooled rear seats, and rear-seat entertainment, the ride is really good but it's not a sports car in any shape or form, from the lights it starts in 2nd gear instead of first, the engine is good, really smooth with 457hp and 700nm of torque, but compared to an Audi S7 with "only" 450hp and 550nm it gets beat even without launch control that the S7 has, what I'm trying to say is the Audi 4.0 tfsi platform is quite a bit more sporty especially with the 7-speed S-Tronic double-clutch transmission, I've never driven a Bentley but I think if you're going for sportiness in that class go for the Audi S8 or S7 if you want pure comfort the Mercedes and for a strange yet exclusive feeling mix of the two the Bentley.
Happy new year Tedward!
I loved the Continental, when they announced the Flying Spur it took me a little by surprise. Its a nice vehicle, but I never quite got around of fully liking it.
Maybe its the way the rear end is designed and it just didn't quite match with the front-end design. Then again, there are more car manufacturers that do the same thing with their models when they enlarge or lengthen their models.
Personally, its a 50-50 thing, still is, to me, for this car. It's a cool ride, but somewhere its a bit off-putting, not ugly, just not my cup of tea.
Happy new year!
Check out the new flying spur for 2020 and onward.
Beautiful car!!
If this is based on a phaeton, does that mean it has the 6 speed auto, or does this have a 8 speed?
And it didn’t break!
I don't think you're old enough to drive this car!!!
Dream daily
Lol im in mass you gotta hook me up with a ride lmao
Verstappen 2021!
Tedward this Bentley flying spur was 201.000 3 years ago
That gen Flying Spur looks so outdated, it looks likes it from 2011
wow
I own Conti GT. It is more comfortable, than Flying Spur.
Nice car 🚗 for sure, but I still love 💘 my old_school Bentley , Brooklands better, so much personally and calm. Sadly 😥 lacking in the new version of vehicles. My 1995 car will soon be in the classic class of Bentleys. As they say ,they don't make like that any more, and never will again.....
I to have owned a 1994 Brooklands and now own a 1991 Mulsanne S, and like Bentley always said, "Horsepower is sufficient. " So like Tedward said, the v8 is enough and more reliable and less fuel guzzling, because it is a car you don't buy for mileage.
Why almost a brand new car and has lots of play in steering wheel? Definitely not my favourite part.
It was pretty direct
There is no way Tim Dillon fits in this
he does. He is not Brian Shaw or Eddie Hall size.
yeah maybe im not old enough yet but this car does nothing for me. the 2 door Conti is way better to me.
It’s The companies own fault that they weren’t Competent enough to make the brands work. They chose to sell to Germans. Any animosity at all is misplaced.
kinda. i think all the smaller manufacturers are being swallowed up by the BIG groups. VW, Ford, GM, FIAT etc all own the smaller guys. Makes sense really. I have no issue with it as it gives them $$$ and freedom to do what they do best..
The interior looks shockingly dated for a 2018 product.
Compare a Bentley with a Volkswagen Passat..............no way.........................prefer the Bentley !!!!
The Continental is for chumps and rappers. The Flying Spur is the real Bentley you want.
You lost me at the British pronunciation of aluminum. Idk why it bothers me but i couldnt watch top gear solely because of it, haha
I was legit being sarcastic and making fun of it. that should have done the opposite of lose you.
interior looks seriously bad for the money, you might like it if you're in your 80s, jesus christ
first
Appreciate the support!
I hate bentley
is this in use?
