Hello guys,
With a release of Gran Turismo 7 I want to show you complete history of one of the best if not the best racing franchises. This game has been flagship for the Playstation console and its highest selling franchise on same. What made Gran Turismo so special are graphics, vehicle details, customization and accurate driving physics, hence the name "Real Driving Simulation". Interesting thing about Gran Turismo is that cars were made with more polygons than any other game, so for example, Gran Turismo 4 cars 4000 polygons which is insane for that time. Thats why with emulator older Gran Turismo titles still looks beautiful. 25 years ago Gran Turismo changed racing games genre.. In my opinion it still does. Hope you like it.

In terms of graphics, the jump from GT2 to GT3 is huge. GT3's graphics were way ahead of its time.

Gran Turismo 4 is a masterpiece during PS2 days it's was way ahead of it time way before PS3 and PS4 were born

Gran Turismo Sport and Gran Turismo 7 sounds are a huge step up

Good times. Very impressed by the visuals and the fixed camera angle on GT7.
These games have really progressed nicely.
Granted GT7 isn't as big a jump of course, but I am so pleased with the physics and additional features.
Hopefully they get this 1.07 update mess resolved ASAP

I remember when GT5 Prologue came out, while I was in middle school, and I absolutely lost my shit. My friends and I were blown away by the graphics, especially the in-car camera view.
Oh man, I hear you. I tracked the release of GT5 religiously. It was the biggest reason I was so hyped about the PS3. I loved loved loved GT4 so as soon as I saw my first screenshot of the GT5 Prologue and eventual gameplay, I was hospitalized for losing my god damn mind. It was Chrismas on cocaine for me

I’ve only played GT4 and 7. Both are amazing!
GT4 was a huge leap forward in the world of racing games at that time, and is unmatched to this day. no other game can jump that far, now the competition can only be similar...
The the more dynamic chase cams from GT4 and before were definitely more wholistic and fully encompassing of the real life driving experiece. The Fixed cams they later adopted may have been more true to actually putting a chase cam onto a real life vehicle, but made the racing experience feel stiff and basic. I remember after GT4 and before GT7 it felt like racing remote control cars, except they were stationary and the road was just green screen in the background.
Graphically it's always been amazing though. GT 4 still looks the most impressive to me by today's standards compared to when it was released. GT2 & 4 will always have a soft spot in my heart. But definitely enjoying GT7 on PS 5 more than I've enjoyed a Gran Turismo game in over 15 years

GT 5 & GT 6 are only available on PS3 and GT 7 is the only GT I know of available for PS5. GT7 is on both PS4 & PS5

3 and 4 are the best in my opinion and I’ve played them all except 7. But the sounds in 2 were immaculate for its time.

GT3 and GT4 are still the best of all time ! But I spent most time with GT1 and GT2
Despite all Gran Turismo are PlayStation only, the developer always Programmed it with a PC for sure.
Gran Turismo 1 & 2 was designed to run on SDR RAM, likewise PS1 machine.
Gran Turismo 3 up to Tokyo Geneva was designed to run on DDR1 RAM because that's the base model of PS2.
Gran Turismo 4 & Prologue was designed to run on DDR2 RAM because that's an uplifted hardware in PS2.
DDR3 RAM was released to public for the first time in 2007. However PS3 was released in 2006. PS3 itself was already using a prototype Version of DDR3 RAM before it was released for public/end user. Therefore the Gran Turismo HD concept was running on Prototype Hardware from both developer's PC and PlayStation itself.
So up to GT5 it was designed to run on DDR3 base model.
GT6 was on PS4 and it was running on uplifted version of DDR3 RAM.
DDR4 RAM prototype was released in 2014, but final product was released in 2015. However all versions of PS4 has no DDR4 version. Hence why you see the limitations of GT7 on PS4.
PS5 might be the only console - along with XBoxSX - to receive hardware uplift from DDR4 RAM to DDR5 soon. Thanks to AMD.

@@nerd2544 gt6 wasn't on ps4, ps4 used gddr5, PS3 uses a mix of xdr and gddr3 ram. Ps5 uses gddr6 ram not ddr4, don't know where they are getting hardware uplift to ddr5. Ps2 uses rdram not ddr1 or ddr2. Yes I'm aware that ps2 got a slight boost, not major but gt4 would always be built for base ps2, ps2 slim slightly faster clocks and extra edram so their comment on the ps2 is just wrong

I wish we had a GT mobile game called GT B-spec where your direct the driver rather than drive like the B-spec mode in GT4

Thats poo, Id rather drive myself, and I also wish for a GT mobile game even though they'll never do it, theres no good racing games on mobile, sure theres rr3 but the physics are poopy, assoluto is okay but gets boring and is hard to earn.

I own all three and enjoy all three. GT can be addictive at times, we'll see after this update. It's unfortunate how Project Cars was review bombed. It's not being backed by a multibillion dollar company, so excuse the lack of photo realism. it has great physics, and looks good on Ps5, anyway. Was it a bonehead move to not have tire and fuel wear?, big yes. Catch it on sale, you'll love it. Good games, good time to game.

I like Gran Turismo 5, 6 and Sport.
These must be run on some sort of emulator because the old games definitely didn't look this good.
Back in the day you just didn't have flat lines represented by many polygons, there was no anti-aliasing at all on the PS1 or 2 and it was barely used on 3. Just search GT1 screenshot and you'll see what it really looked like. Even GT3-Aspec is not at all how it was in reality.
3rd person camera was so much better on 1 and 2
rally in rally track in gt3 is really fun. but it's start to unplayable in gt4 strange physic...
Gt4 had much better gameplay imo but gt3 look so much more beautiful.

I played GT1 GT2 GT3 and GT4, then I stopped buying consoles. I wish sony would release these games on pc so I can experience GT5 GT6 and GT7.
Possible, God of War, Horizon, and Uncharted got late PC ports. This game is perfect since tons of sim racers would love to go back to GT.
If it wants to compete in E Sports, then it should really consider porting it. I'm sure the Devs and Sony know so I'm hopeful this time.

I like Tourist Trophy because motorcycles are more interesting than cars both games have a steep learners curve compared to Forza which is easier because of the drivers assists.

If you want to show the real evolution of the GT Graphics, you should honour the original settings and not do it with the emulators setup with way higher resolutions (and filtering in the case of PS1) because the PS1 GTs actually look way better in their original settings (320p, no texture filtering) than in "uprezzed" emulation due to PS1s bad vertex handling (the wobbliness) and the textures being made for a device without filtering.
