I’d say in a pinch the wash is fine.

@@DanCBearded decided on a Bossman kit including their beard jelly, beard balm, and beard conditioner. Settled on some Everyman Jack beard and face wash. Restarting my beard due to shaving it for a family emergency. My mother was going downhill and asked me if I would shave so she could see my whole face again. Well, you can't say no to momma. Now that she's at peace im setting off on my bearded journey once again. I used primarily Beard guyz before, simply because I live right down the street from a Walgreens and was comfortable just using the beard guyz stuff. I honestly haven't tried anything else before, so I'm excited to see the difference. Thanks for all the knowledge. Stay blessed.
This "beard" product line was the very first brand I tried for my first time beard. At the time I used their beard serum product & wash. Back then I didn't know these products were garbage, I was clueless. Needless to say, today is a different story. I attribute a lot of my beard knowledge to Dan's channel!
Dan c I have tried beard guyz i used there products for a year.In that year i had the longest length and fullness a have seen with this product . The most unfortunate thing i remember going throw is shedding beard hairs all over.Where at that time i don't not think anything of it . Now that i have been looking into the beard world more over the years i have been introduced to a number of companies from Drug stores like beardbrand, Bulldog everyman jack all seem to full my need and make my beard full great thanks for the informative videos that you provided New beardman And beardman that have been around.
I use their beard conditioner which is the best I can find in the UK. The options for beard conditioners is extremely limited here, unlike the US. Positive experience though with the beard conditioner. I don't use their other products nor have I ever used them.
As a new beardsmen, this stuff is horrible. It was the first oil I tried, and I was very disappointed. The ingredients is scary, and has things I’ve never even heard of. I will never use any of Beard Guyz products again. They got the first and last $12 I’ll spend with them! Your review was spot on👊🏻👊🏻
About 4 or 5 years ago, I tried the beard butter and fell in love! The smell was great and it made my beard super soft and thick. The ingredients were probably bad but I liked it. They did change the formula apparently and the next batch I bought was garbage.
I see this so often in the store and wonder, hm, what is it? Thanks for another great video. Only you could use the words despise and disgusting in an honorable way that is straight on true, but not disrespectful. Gracious, entertaining, and informative.
When I first started my bearded journey I used the Beard Wash and did not mind it at the time. Now that I know what quality products are like I can see how this product really fell short. I have not tried their oil and butter and really would not even touch it now if I wanted to.
What’s tough is the first 1 inch of my beard, I used beard guyz, because it was easy to get. After personal use, I can NOT recommend this to anyone.. Just because it’s easy to get, does NOT mean it’s easy on your beard. I can tell a huge difference between Copper John’s, and almost every other product I’ve tried (I’m only 5 1/2 months in, so I haven’t tried many different washes) I can’t wait to dive into the other products you’ve reviewed and find what’s perfect for my beard 🤘🏼😎 Thanks Dan! You’re the bomb! I’ve started a tiny beard club in my town, it’s growing daily (no pun intended).
I've had a beard for about 15 years now and never used any products on it, just always kept it trimmed super short. I've just started trying to use products to try and keep it clean, take care of it and style it as its growing out. I've been using beard guyz beard wash and tamer and their beard balm, it has helped in look a little better on the outside, but it seems to have made my beard feel like a bale of hay when I touch it, dry and crispy. I think my beard is looking better simply because I am trying to style it as its growing out, not because of their product. If anything, I have the feeling that their product might actually be doing damage. I purchased beard oil made by a different company, Average Bros. Mostly because I really like the smell. I think I got lucky picking this one up because it only has 5 ingredients. Sweet Almond oil, Jojoba oil, Vitamin E oil, Cedar oil, and Sweet Orange oil. Looks like I'm going to have to make a stop after work and find some new beard wash. Picking out beard product is tough for me because the smell is important to me, as I do not like the smell of most beard products. I do like being out in the forest, but I do not want my beard to smell like a forest. Thank you for the video.
@@DanCBearded I picked up a can of Average Bros. Beard Balm. It's the same as their oil, simple to understand ingredients, but it is a little tough to work with, it's very firm and I struggle to get it out of the tin.
Morning Dan .... thanks for the video-- b4 i found you...in fact i think i may have mentioned it too u b4....I actually used beard guyz wash-- my Goatee felt so brittle ...what orginally caught my eyes ...was that it said grotein ..which i thought was good.. I was clearly wrong-- and u proved it again YOUR THE TRUSTED TEACHER
I’ve never used their beard oils or beard butter. I have used the wash you reviewed and their beard “2-in-1 wash and tame” beard wash. Not bad, however I’ve always used a different brand co wash after. Growtein was a little much for me to believe... I have been waiting for this review for months. Thanks Dan C!!!
Thank you, thank you for this review. I am new to the beard game and that shampoo was the first product I purchased. I Will be throwing it away and looking for something better. Love your reviews, keep doing your thing beard brother.
Haha this is great man, I love all of your videos. I am also a teacher as well. I have been subscribed and watching for about a year. I used this as my first beard wash, because of your videos I knew that this stuff was just not quality, and was honestly drying up my beard mode, thanks for making all these videos, it really helps us beardsmen!
Beard Guyz was the first oil I purchased. I started growing about 2 months ago. Not sure how old your oil is, but my bottle is less than 2 months from purchase. My bottle is not plastic, but the typical glass eye dropper bottle. It has about 6 carrier oils starting with almond oil.
What are you talking about ? There website plain and simple shows there massive list of straight garbage ingredients in there oils. Get your facts straight kid
This was the first beard wash and conditioner I ever used. I must say I didn't think it was worst experience, but I didn't really know what to look for. I really liked the smell of the wash. It has a light lemony smell that just smells clean. Having said that, fast forward 2 years of beard growing and listening to Dan C. and Scuba I am a firm believer of Scotch Porter, it is the only wash and conditioner I use. I personally think it is the best out there. I have used some other products but they just didn't leave my beard as soft as Scotch Porter does. I will use it for the long haul.
Thank you for this review. I have watched your videos in the past and have wondered about your objectivity. I have used this beard butter with good success, I use it every evening. Your reaction surprised me, which makes me question your objectivity of other products in other reviews. I now have a baseline from which to measure your recommendations.
@@DanCBearded Dan, I tried a different butter (Detroit) and have had good success. The butter you reviewed worked for me (being 60 years old) and having a drier beard at night. However, as my beard is growing longer I find that it is too much. Detroit products are working well at keeping my beard more moisturized. Thanks for making me move out of my comfort zone!
I use Beard Guys' beard balm and, while the smell is ok, it's strong and just a smidgen off putting. It makes my beard feel kinda greasy and I'm looking for a different product to replace it with. The funny thing is that I went to their ingredient list a little bit ago and, I think they don't list all the ingredients on the physical packaging of their product. Because the ingredient list was longer on their website then I remember it being when I bought the beard balm.
Dan C!! This video is AWESOME! Funny but as always great information. Ive used this and asked you about it awhile back and now the grand review!! I totally agree with everything you say. At our Walmart they have this one, Wild Willies and Honest Amish. Obviously I have way better choices than Beard Guyz. I threw my Beard Guyz away. Thx again for another great video.
Not even gonna lie i used this product when i first started growing. It was the only thing i could find in stores before beards became a trend. Now u got more variety in stores and online.
I am a new beard grower and I have the balm from these guys and the smell really bothers me but it holds my beard in the style I want for work so far I haven’t had anything wrong but after this I will rethink using it , but all my oils and butter and wash I use is from Mad Viking
Well,Dan I have to say this is the first beard wash I used (budget) and I will not give song and dance but I didn't have any complaints but at the same time I have used better than them.
Thanks for this review and your other informational videos!! I have been using beard guyz and steady looking for others. First clue of not good is my wife don’t like it she rather beard be dry then feel the way it does. I just ordered me some whiskey n hardtack stuff and hoping for the best. Learned about them from another video. I’m only 1.5 years into my first beard
I can agree with a lot of the people who have commented, these are not products one should be putting in a beard. Sadly I used the wash and and their balm. Back when I started out I had no clue about anything, so I used the wash almost every day. ha ha ha I was so clueless. After watching this I remembered I still had an empty tin of the beard balm. i opened it up to find a little bit left. it didn't smell good, and then I rubbed it between my finger I got that feeling Dan was talking about, and I can still feel it on my fingers. Yeah, never again.
Man, Dan, I REALLY appreciate your honesty. I've been using these guys for over a year now without even second guessing their ingredients list. I personally have not had a negative experience, but maybe that's because I don't know what a good one is. But you went in hard on these guys, and I'm assuming it's for good reason. Looks like I need to start looking elsewhere for solid products. Great video, Dan, as always.
Absolutely can be one of those things you don't realize until you experience. I will be interested to hear your results once you try what I consider a step up in companies!
@@DanCBearded what do you think about Duke Cannon? Thanks to you, I actually looked at their ingredients. Seems pretty solid with what they have. I'm curious to know your thoughts
@@michaelarceneaux2249 Every Man Jack is the best I've found so far! The beard guys oil was the first oil I tried too. Didn't seem terrible. But I've only tried 4 companies so far.
I literally just bought this product to try. I will continue to use it to see results, but I tried it the first time today and wasn’t too impressed. I usually use Viking revolution and honest amish, both great products but pricey. But I noticed this product was at a fairer price and wanted to try it out.
Wish I would have looked this up before I bought it! Used the oil and styling clay this morning, I actually kind of like the clay it is smooth and not tacky like Wild Willie's styling paste, and has great hold for my unruly sides. Anyways, I did my beard, and it looked great, I loved it. That is until about an hour later when it didn't look so great from sticking my fingers in it to itch my face! The oil is complete garbage! I will probably still use the clay, at least until it is gone or my sides are long enough to lay down on their own, which ever comes first. I definately won't be using the oil again though!
Still so crazy to me that you’ve been through the lawsuit process over reviews! Glad it’s all worked out in your favor though. Never tried these particular products but I’ve heard some interesting opinions on them. Loved the honesty in this review, Dan! Never would’ve considered the idea about these products turning people away from the community as a whole if this was the first experience with beard products
Bread guyz was my 1st bread oil in college, picked it up at my local cvs too. Can’t remember anything positive about it. I definitely agree that there’s better brands that can found right next to it.
I used to use their beard balm and it was really good, reminded me of honest amish, that was years ago though and before grotien, they are probably much different now and most likely cheapened their products
Really really wished to see the beard conditioner. I know that it won't rank that high but it would've been great to see it compared to the other beard brand products. Thx for the review tho.
I have not tried beard guys but a good friend of mine loved their stuff. Of course he is not sporting a beard right now.... coincidence maybe. Jeje great review Dan. Good wishes for you and the fam, brother.
I need to finish this video but just wanted to say I've used their beard wash it's a different-looking one from this one so I don't know if it's the same formula or not but I love it makes my beard feels super soft and good who knows maybe it's bad for us but I don't have money to waste I purchased it so I will use it up in its entirety before I move on to something else.
@@DanCBearded yeah I'm okay with but will try something else next time hey what is your thoughts on Shea Moisture full beard detangler?? It's marketed to serve men of color which I'm not but I was just very curious to try the product.. so far so good I like it makes the beard nice and soft which is always my goal.
The first time I got product was beard guys and I never went back. I personally only use live bearded but have tried badass beard care and they're pretty good too.
New beardsman here. Without a doubt, the best advice so far! I'm currently working my way through your videos also. I decided to go with a local beard company (Biblical Beards) for my first try. (more to follow when my products arrive.) Oh, I did by Beard Guyz products and was honestly thinking "is this what it's supposed to feel like?" The oil smells horrible! (in my opinion). Thank you for all you do!
Brutal, yet honest review! Honestly, that butter has been the only one I’ve ever tried and I thought it was okay, but had nothing to compare it to. I’d love to try another that you recommend. Also, I don’t know if this is exclusive to Beard Guyz, but one day when I opened the butter, it was covered in mold.
Detroit grooming butter is to die for, dan has often highly recommended - fable is safe too but is a strong conditioning maybe use it periodically not every night
I shaved my beard after using this lmao it basically dry rotted my beard splitting cracking skin was so dry cracking also. Wife loved the smell of the butter. So she got me the oil and butter.
I bought the "butter" how dare they claim its butter...I do nor recommend beard guys..it went right in the trash ..I use bulldog. .and an English blend called "gnarly joe " (highly reccomended pkys seven potions which I s just...just well amazing ..avoid beard guyz at all parts ..thank you for the good fair warning brethren your amazing

I agree with you 100 percent. It was the first Beard product I used and the last time I'll use it
Facts!
This "beard" product line was the very first brand I tried for my first time beard. At the time I used their beard serum product & wash. Back then I didn't know these products were garbage, I was clueless. Needless to say, today is a different story. I attribute a lot of my beard knowledge to Dan's channel!
Thank you brotha!
You're welcome!!
So wait this product was shedding your beard??
@@bryanrodriguez9226 Yes
I’ve used the wash before and had no issues at all. Not everyone is gonna have the same experience
The wash was the best of their products I tried, I’ll absolutely give you that
I use their beard conditioner which is the best I can find in the UK. The options for beard conditioners is extremely limited here, unlike the US. Positive experience though with the beard conditioner. I don't use their other products nor have I ever used them.
The lack of conditioner in Europe is such a bummer+)!
@@DanCBeardedYup! If you ever find a good one in Europe please help us out! 🙂 I'm shocked Seven Potions hasn't done one, or some other good company!
As a new beardsmen, this stuff is horrible. It was the first oil I tried, and I was very disappointed. The ingredients is scary, and has things I’ve never even heard of. I will never use any of Beard Guyz products again. They got the first and last $12 I’ll spend with them! Your review was spot on👊🏻👊🏻
Thanks for the feedback!
About 4 or 5 years ago, I tried the beard butter and fell in love! The smell was great and it made my beard super soft and thick. The ingredients were probably bad but I liked it. They did change the formula apparently and the next batch I bought was garbage.
Oh interesting!
That beard butter looks like that Axe bodyspray hair stuff I'd used when I was younger
Exactly
My beard is almost as long as yours and i been using they're products for over a year i love them .
I’m glad it’s working for you!
Lol I love the genuine passion Dan.. only tried the beard guyz wash myself, once
Grave before shave is awesome. Worth the wait time ordering this
Agreed, GBS is a nice upgrade from this stuff
Their beard wash was the first wash I ever bought. I replaced it after a while with Seven Potions (Thanks, Dan), now I use LCW.
Mannn you upgraded!
I've heard seven potions is really good
The Beard Guru Back At It Again 💪
Hey my friend!
Exactly! One of those things where you don't know until you know
You were braver than I was with the butter. I got mine for free and only used it once. My beard felt so gross!
Soooooo terrible!
Honest Amish is still one of my favorite brands. I use their products in regular rotation.
An absolute classic!
Wish I had found this vid before starting my beard & buying product. I’m REALLY interested in trying a REAL beard butter now!
There are tons of great butters!!
What’s tough is the first 1 inch of my beard, I used beard guyz, because it was easy to get.
After personal use, I can NOT recommend this to anyone..
Just because it’s easy to get, does NOT mean it’s easy on your beard.
I can tell a huge difference between Copper John’s, and almost every other product I’ve tried (I’m only 5 1/2 months in, so I haven’t tried many different washes)
I can’t wait to dive into the other products you’ve reviewed and find what’s perfect for my beard 🤘🏼😎
Thanks Dan! You’re the bomb!
I’ve started a tiny beard club in my town, it’s growing daily (no pun intended).
Spot on!!
Dan has spoken. Off with their heads!!!
Hahaha
Those ingredients look totally fine on the new stuff you’re using!
I'm glad you made the switch 👊
@@DanCBearded Because of you Ive found many other Beard products Companies that are better for my Beard plus the Beard Knowledge you give PRICELESS
You're welcome Jesse!
Thank you, thank you for this review. I am new to the beard game and that shampoo was the first product I purchased. I Will be throwing it away and looking for something better. Love your reviews, keep doing your thing beard brother.
Thanks J!
Me too
Haha this is great man, I love all of your videos. I am also a teacher as well. I have been subscribed and watching for about a year. I used this as my first beard wash, because of your videos I knew that this stuff was just not quality, and was honestly drying up my beard mode, thanks for making all these videos, it really helps us beardsmen!
Thank you for this comment and you're welcome!
Can be found at Wegmans, beard wash is about 19.99$
Oh okay!
Beard guys seems to be the only big box store bought beard products that clears up the flaky skin for me.
Interesting! Thanks for sharing
That's absolutely your right! Judge away my guy 👊
@@jeffreyharrington1925 that's great tk hear!
It looked like Dan nearly shivered when he brought out the butter. Thanks for heads up!
Awful stuff lol
I use Beard Guys' beard balm and, while the smell is ok, it's strong and just a smidgen off putting. It makes my beard feel kinda greasy and I'm looking for a different product to replace it with. The funny thing is that I went to their ingredient list a little bit ago and, I think they don't list all the ingredients on the physical packaging of their product. Because the ingredient list was longer on their website then I remember it being when I bought the beard balm.
Not great all around
I must admit, even when i was a new beardsman when i seen "grotien" it was hilarious. I cant believe that shit still on the shelf.
Exactly! How is that not a red flag for some?
I have also used Wild Willie's B.B., Bulldog balm and Duke Cannons beard oil and so far my beard is best with Duke and Willie's
Awesome!
No Lawsuits Were Created On The Making Of This Video🤭
🤣🤣
😂
That's a fact lol this one is buttoned up tight
You're welcome buddy!
Not even gonna lie i used this product when i first started growing. It was the only thing i could find in stores before beards became a trend. Now u got more variety in stores and online.
Even worse was getting there products as gifts for birthdays and christmas seriously! It was the only thing u could find in store all the time.
Very true! So many more options now
I am a new beard grower and I have the balm from these guys and the smell really bothers me but it holds my beard in the style I want for work so far I haven’t had anything wrong but after this I will rethink using it , but all my oils and butter and wash I use is from Mad Viking
Thanks for the feedback!
Oh wow i was about to buy this brand!! Thanks for the advise
You’re welcome!
Well,Dan I have to say this is the first beard wash I used (budget) and I will not give song and dance but I didn't have any complaints but at the same time I have used better than them.
Seems to be one of those situations you don't realize until you experience something better. However, if it's not broke, don't fix it 👊
Ok Never Tried Them, Never Will. But I Am Gonna Watch This One More Time 😎
My man 👊
Appreciate the review. CVS and Walgreens always have this stuff on sale and keep tempting me to buy it.
I know, so sad!
Interesting video Dan. It’s been a very long time since I have used their oil. Never tried anything else though.
I would leave the memory in the rear view mirror
I can agree with a lot of the people who have commented, these are not products one should be putting in a beard. Sadly I used the wash and and their balm. Back when I started out I had no clue about anything, so I used the wash almost every day. ha ha ha I was so clueless. After watching this I remembered I still had an empty tin of the beard balm. i opened it up to find a little bit left. it didn't smell good, and then I rubbed it between my finger I got that feeling Dan was talking about, and I can still feel it on my fingers. Yeah, never again.
Exactly!! Hopefully people read this
Man, Dan, I REALLY appreciate your honesty.
I’m in the same boat!
Fortunately I only have the butter & balm & rarely use the balm.
@@michaelarceneaux2249 Every Man Jack is the best I've found so far! The beard guys oil was the first oil I tried too. Didn't seem terrible. But I've only tried 4 companies so far.
Great video! Beard Guyz was the first brand of beard wash I ever used. 😓
On a positive note, it's what led me to this channel!
I will count that as a positive then! Lol
I literally just bought this product to try. I will continue to use it to see results, but I tried it the first time today and wasn’t too impressed. I usually use Viking revolution and honest amish, both great products but pricey. But I noticed this product was at a fairer price and wanted to try it out.
Honest Amish is in a league way above this!
I would not come anywhere the clay either
@DanCBearded live and learn, I guess...
Spot on!
I recommend Sphinx Beard all the way for their scents and its oil definitely a little goes a long way.
For sure, great stuff!
EverymanJack butter also is that same consistency and first ingredient. Didn't know any better. Now I use Chesapeake and Defined Beard Co
I used to use their beard balm and it was really good, reminded me of honest amish, that was years ago though and before grotien, they are probably much different now and most likely cheapened their products
That would make sense! I tried them 2 years ago and they were still terrible for me then
Really really wished to see the beard conditioner.
I know that it won't rank that high but it would've been great to see it compared to the other beard brand products.
Thx for the review tho.
My store did not actually have that one
I have not tried beard guys but a good friend of mine loved their stuff. Of course he is not sporting a beard right now.... coincidence maybe. Jeje great review Dan. Good wishes for you and the fam, brother.
That's what I am afraid of! We need to save the beards
I’m not a fan, but you have to do what works for you!
@@graciegjj their oil is fine, but I’m not a fan of that product
I’m wearing AA today. I have the oil, premium oil and the heavy duty beard balm. The premium oil is outstanding. I don’t use Beard Guyz anymore.
The first time I got product was beard guys and I never went back. I personally only use live bearded but have tried badass beard care and they're pretty good too.
Both great companies!
Awesome to hear, thank you!
Mold!!? Whoa! That is a reason why to never have water in it
@@lyranlover6904 I’ll definitely look into those, thanks!
I shaved my beard after using this lmao it basically dry rotted my beard splitting cracking skin was so dry cracking also. Wife loved the smell of the butter. So she got me the oil and butter.
