My first experience with Honest Amish was this morning. I purchased both the oil and balm yesterday afternoon at Walmart. I combed in the oil first this morning after a beard rinse and then after a five minute pause I followed it with an application of brushed in beard balm. I’ve been wearing it all day and I really like it. It hasn’t been overly greasy and it not only made my beard nice a shiny but it held my styling nicely all day. So Honest Amish gets two thumbs up from me. The black licorice scent is an added bonus for me!
Honest Amish is the best. Best bang for your buck for sure. Ive been using it for a few months now. I love that u can go down to your local walmart and get both the oil and balm. My first product ive used and probably my last.

Thanks for watching and the comment. It took me awhile to try AA just because of all the hype. I have come to love the oil and I use the balm as butter a couple nights a week.
Totally agree. I have tried a couple different kinds of beard oil, and Honest Amish was in fact my first beard oil, and love it so much that I stopped trying after 2 other brands. Both products are by far the best on the market. Thank you for your video!!!!
Nicholas-Yes. It's very good. I consider the original balm to be more like a butter. The Heavy Duty balm is a really good, medium hold balm. I still say that if I was limited to one brand, I would pick Honest Amish. I'd use the premium oil, the original balm as a butter, and the heavy duty balm as my daily balm.

J.A. - BOTH. I use oil twice a day. Once after shower in the morning and again before bed. My routine is: MORNING: (1) Shower using a good beard wash or co-wash. (2) Towel dry. Thanks for watching and the comment. I know a lot of guys who do it the way you do. It's a good application process. I rub it to the hands in mainly because I also will apply it to my head and elbows in the mornings.

Great question. None of these products will help grow a "longer" or "thicker" beard. They will promote a healthier beard and give the appearance of thickness. The balm, especially this balm, does 2 things: (1) Hydrates the beard hair making it healthier, reducing breakage and split ends making the beard look fuller; and (2) provides a light hold.
E-Rock, Thanks for watching and the comment. Honest Amish would probably be what I would pick if I was limited to one company (it's not my favorite BUT it's a Jack of all trades).

Thanks for the nice comment. That's a great question. Here's what I do and my best suggestion: In the mornings I shower and use "co-wash" (i.e. a beard conditioner instead of beard shampoo-there are some good ones out there-I like Uncle Donnie's) then I use oil and balm-usually a heavy balm like Luxurious bastard because it has great hold. At night I use oil again followed by a "whipped" type of beard butter-usually Beard Octane. Twice or three times a week I'll also use a good beard shampoo in the shower before the co-wash. That will clean the beard of excess oil but doing it only twice a week will make sure you don't overly dry the beard. That has made my beard when it's long, much more manageable and much softer.
For night time hands down the the Beard Octane Butta. The Honest Amish regular balm is great and does have decent conditioning properties, but for night time deep conditioning it can't compete with the Octane butta.

The best way to use the oil and balm is as follows: With your beard damp, apply the oil to the skin under the beard and comb beard out (about a dime sized amount rubbed into your fingers and fingertips). Let that soak in for about 5 minutes. Then tale about a nickel to quarter sized amount of balm, rub it into your hands really well, then coat the beard. PS-If you need more hold, try the Heavy Duty Balm from Honest Amish.

Bandar They won’t help with “growth” per se. They will promote a healthier beard, and will give the beard some thickness. The only proven method to help with actual growth is Biotin. Biotin has been shown to promote beard growth in most people.
That's kinda funny, I'm not going to disagree with you, but the first few times I used their oil I couldn't help but find the scent familiar. It was driving me nuts for the first three days, than I realized it reminded me of black licorice.
Hey. What's up? Hope you're holding well and keeping safe out there brother. So I have a couple of questions. One, are their products flammable and two, I'm thinking about treating my grays (not sure) so how safe is it to use them on a dyed hair/beard?
Jo-Beard oil is not highly flammable. The beard hair is way more of a fire hazard. If you do color your beard, I'd suggest a simple 70% coconut and 30% castor oil blend. You can buy high quality oils on Amazon and make your own. I have heard that HH oil can discolor colored beards, but I've never seen it myself.
Just bought this an this is a butter. But I feel they didn’t want to take the name like everyone. Nothing like my other balms. But a lot like my butters. But with a very beard oil feel when melted.
Brian- Oil will not help the beard grow faster, longer or thicker. It will reduce itch and promote a healthier beard. Try a Biotin supplement to help promote faster growth.
Apply about 3-4 drops of oil to a clean beard. Thoroughly massage into skin underneath beard. Wait 5 minutes, then apply about a dime size of the balm and comb in. You should be all set!
Anyone have their Amish balm get too hot and melt/separate? It seems fine once emulsified between the hands, but the texture in the tin is totally ruined and gets a little messy. Any solution to bring it back to original texture?
Yes. Happens a lot in the summer. Shake it up well and then throw it in the refrigerator for an hour and you'll be good to go. I usually put any balm/butter in the fridge for an hour when I get a shipment in the summer before I open it.
I always keep mine in the lowest drawer in the fridge. It stays fresh and texture is better. I tried a balm from the bearded barber on ebay, that's another nice scent too.Not to strong or perfumey.
Does this work on goatee's and will help my goatee feel less pubey. Its not a big bulb or anything but it is more then dirt on my face. I am a highschool student and not trying to grow a full viking beard but i want my goatee feeling soft and less bristle like. Also bomus question, can you use this for your mustache too or just beard or goatee?
John-Thanks for watching and the question. That's a really really good question for many reasons. As a young man starting to grow a beard (or even for us old fogies) starting the process can be frustrating. The best answer I can give you is 'YES AND NO." What I mean by that is this is a great oil to use for beard HEALTH. Unfortunately, no topical oil will help you grow a beard faster, longer or fuller. I'd certainly recommend this oil and suggest you use it daily focused on the skin below the beard. That will help keep the skin moisturized and reduce itching. I'd suggest you look for a quality vitamin called "Biotin." That's the only supplement that has been shown to help promote hair growth. It doesn't work for everyone, but it's worth a try. Biotin is a vitamin B12 enzyme. You can get this one (amzn.to/2Z3DNU9) which is a quality product. If you try the Biotin, be patient. See if over a month it helps the hair grow faster.
Sophisticated Neanderthal Thanks for the response and clarification! I’ll definitely try the biotin and probably the oil, I’ll keep an update on any differences. Thank you again and keep up with the videos!
Here's the only link I could find. The info in the video comes from HH Incorporation filings where they are listed as subsidiary brands. www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/dr-organic-ginseng-shave-beard-oil-60038338
Nesty Ness that will happen in the summertime. I always suggest, when it’s hot outside, place new balm and butter orders in the refrigerator for a couple of hours before opening as soon as you get them.
Amal- Yes. I start using the oil about 4 days into the growth to keep the skin hydrated and reduce itch. I'll start using the balm as well when I get to about 1/2 inch of growth.
Yes. Put the oil in the beard, let it sit for a couple of minutes, then apply the balm. I suggest always applying oil before balm or butter. Oil for the skin, balm or butter for the beard hair.

The current price should be in the link in the description. The last time I checked the balm was $11.50 USD and the Oil was $12.50 USD. A great deal!
I’m 17 and starting to get little hair growth for a beard, would you recommend this oil as a starter for growth?
@@johnc9828 You're welcome. Let us know how the Biotin works.
@@johnc9828 how did the biotin work?
Grow our beard in use of this product
Mohammed-It will help promote a strong, healthy beard. Thanks for the comment.
You failed to mention the "premium" Honest Amish beard oil
Yep. I don't think they had released it yet back when I did the video. It's good stuff too!
honest amish balm gave me a wicked organic solvent headache!
put a link to those other brands, I cant find Dr. Organics?
Here's the only link I could find. The info in the video comes from HH Incorporation filings where they are listed as subsidiary brands. www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/dr-organic-ginseng-shave-beard-oil-60038338
🧔 Good Review
Albert-Thanks for watching and the comment!
Mine came all melted, not like that solid state.
Nesty Ness that will happen in the summertime. I always suggest, when it’s hot outside, place new balm and butter orders in the refrigerator for a couple of hours before opening as soon as you get them.
@@MichaelPhelpsMedia That's what I did, but when I opened it got all scattered. Thanks for the tips.
Nesty Ness that happened to me once. I also learned the hard way!
@@MichaelPhelpsMedia Yeah lol but it's good I liked it. Definitely getting it again in the future.
Look up emulsify in the dictionary
Is it ??a new beard growth product??..
Amal- Yes. I start using the oil about 4 days into the growth to keep the skin hydrated and reduce itch. I'll start using the balm as well when I get to about 1/2 inch of growth.
Im dissapointed. I need something harder to move my goatee.
Do you use both the oil and balm at the same time?
Yes. Put the oil in the beard, let it sit for a couple of minutes, then apply the balm. I suggest always applying oil before balm or butter. Oil for the skin, balm or butter for the beard hair.
