Wow Chris I love the way you overcome hurdles to produce such an impressive result. Well done. Looking forward to your finished decorated model. I would love to be able to this to my tt120 but at 77 and with shaky hands I cannot.
Verry nice. Sounds easy. You'd need to be good at soldering small items? Looks pretty fiddly work with so much packed into such a small space. . Good end result though 👍
Brilliant job Chris. I am going Saturday so will not see you it’s my first show do you know if there are stands that you can go to to ask questions on model railways in stead of bothering the people on the big stands
I think you’ll find you can pretty much speak to anyone. Tip when approaching people operating a layout, typically they will have at least one person with open body language and a happy face that looks approachable, combined with another person holding a DCC controller with a furrowed brow, not making eye contact and cursing in low tones… pick wisely 😉😝
Hmmm. Too much for me. I think I'll wait until Hornby come up with a small tank engine with a decoder and speaker already fitted. Hoping they might do a set with a fully fitted small tank with some goods wagons and brake van before too long. Thanks for that. Subscribed now.
Cheers Mark, bear in mind though when Hornby do sort out the 6pin HM7000 this loco will be possibly the easiest option for a simple conversion. I hope my second “full Monty” section doesn’t put people off the of section one “simple” body swap. Thanks for subscribing 👍
Hi Chris just got back from key model world great day got myself the intercity 125 got it up and running but are the rear engine lights mentioned to work as well as the front
Lenny’s stuff is great. Very detailed and accurate. I’ve got one of his A5’s But I wouldn’t recommend them for beginners. They’re definitely something to work up to. The good thing about Peter’s dock tank is it’s specifically designed to just easily fit on the 08 chassis. 5 minutes and it’s done. 👍
Yes I agree at first glance these do look like a tall loco, but that’s because they were. Apparently specifically so that the crew could see over the length of a rake. As for the model, it’s about 1.5mm to tall if you stick with the modelled running board (so this equates to 180mm or just over 7”) this can easily be reduced for a display model, or even if you want to stick with either DC or wait for the 6 pin decoder. But unfortunately if you want to install an 8pin it will need this slight compromise in height.
Also surprised they went for the extra expense and complication of the outside frame and cranks of an 08. Then not making it in steam era BR Black or Green to fit in with the other steam era stock is also puzzling. New liveries would have to be so much cheaper than new tooling.
Hornby's latest development engineer?! Great work Chris.
Don’t let Carl hear you say that🤣

Thanks Keith… I’ve noticed mine are starting to shake and I’m just a young pup of 55! 🤣 doesn’t bode well for the future 😕
Very impressive work, Chris. I’m looking forward to see it all painted
Cheers Tony 🍻
Brilliant stuff!

need to figure out to get an 8 pin in the 08s mine is languishing in a box
That’s a little tricky. I’m still holding out for the 6pin for my “spare” 08

Yes. Are you running DC, standard DCC or HM7000 Bluetooth DCC?
@@PeachyTT120 DCC on my iPad
@@ianhughes-zf1ll sounds like either you’ve not put a 2nd decoder in the dummy? Or if you have, maybe you’ve assigned it its own address?
@@PeachyTT120 cheers Chris think that’s done it thanks for your help Awesome train Have a great day tomorrow
Hi Chris how about lenny's lincoln locos? caroline

thanks Chris. run many of lenny's 3mm locos . caroline
I use german chassis so will work on tt120. caroline
Interesting model but looks too tall more 3mm scale height wise . A tram body would be nice .good vid .

I think hornby should have released a steam tank locomotive earlier than they are doing
I agree. And so does the new boss Martyn Weaver (see previous video)
@@PeachyTT120 I'm not doing tt but a j94 and a pannier tank are coming at sometime

OK I did the A4 stay alive but this is way beyond me
Oh no it isn’t 😝
