Her sarcasm in the game was amazing. There is a couple lines I compare Nate and Nora with and it's when you're with valentine in goodneighbor and She says something like "It's time to reverse death itself!" and "Igor, fetch me the brain!... sorry" Nora definitely nailed those line. Nate was good but Nora actually made me laugh lol
AJ When you talk to the guy you kill in nicks personal quest choose the sarcastic line, trust me its amazing! But i highly doubt anyone but me still plays this game
Apparently I've heard her voice thousands and thousands of times in my life, without thinking about it. It's always fun looking into the people behind the voices I've heard so often
+Hans Martin Vatnan - Exactly, people like Tara Strong, John Dimaggio and Tom Kenny who are all apart of my childhood and many different forms than others.
I have to say that Courtney did the much better job. She was believable both in the good options, the selfish options, the evil/aggressive options, and the snarky options, whereas the male protagonist I had a hard time buying his selfish and evil delivery.
+GreatPirateSolomon That's the way it was, at least in the first game, the difference between Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale. Hale just delivered it so fucking well.
braam saget I just didn't like his delivery in the first game. Fans of him that prefer BroShep have told me they found him stale in the beginning, but said that he got way better in ME2 and ME3. But I haven't played BroShep since ME1 so I wouldn't know. Which is why I said "at least in the first game," because that's where my knowledge of Mark Meer's acting begins and ends.
+GreatPirateSolomon I agree that Courtenay does a much better snarky, but I think that he delivered some of the more emotional lines a bit better. The post-cryo moment for example: the frantic effort to open the pod sounds more convincing from Nate than Nora.
She really did a terrific job with this game, and not just with the sarcastic responses. During the conversation with Shaun on the rooftop outside the Institute, Taylor's delivery of the lines talking about how disappointed she is with Shaun...the authenticity of that weary sorrow in her tone made me tremble. She plays the sadness, the pain, and the confusion of Nora perfectly.
TheIceWarrior I was fapping thw whole game. You know when my husband died? Fapped through it. You know when the Prydwen fell? Fapped through it. You know when I blew up the Institute and thousands died? Fapped through it.
I agree. I think after serving a tour in Anchorage and coming home to his family only to experience an apocalypse Nate would be more emotionally distraught. Whereas Nora as a mother was already emotionally prepared for separation.
@@TheRealAdaWong | I don’t understand how Nora as a mother would be "more prepared" for an apocalyptic Wasteland. If anything Nate who has seen battlefields and harsh conditions would have more of a chance of facing the emotional shock of being thrown into the Wasteland whereas Nora has no idea how to confront a world of violence and bloodshed so it would be harder for her.
I think both the male and the female sole survivor did fantastic and both of them have their strong points. The female voice excels at emotional warmth and the "saltiness" talked about in the video while the male voice excels at the psycho enraged shouting and a certain "ruthlessness" that are just excellent to listen to.
I LOVED Courtenay’s voice as Sole Survivor in Fallout 4, played for a year during lockdown. Then I eventually got into Mass Effect via the Legendary remaster, and her work as Jack was incredible. Her first crack to Shepard was PERFECTION, and she just nailed it from there on out. Amazing voice actor.
That's awesome. Courtney picked Minutemen, so did I (but only because I wanted three of the four factions alive now so I could decide after all the DLC if I need to destroy any of them later). And Dogmeat, Nick, and Piper are among my favorites as well, but I have to add Deacon to that list. Deacon's my home boi.
I also picked Minutemen but also did tons of Railroad missions, kept everyone but the Institute intact. After I dusted them some of my alliances were a bit strained, and there were some weird bugs. Worth it tho. And I wasn’t gonna use mods, but after Dogmeat got hurt the first time I modded so he not only stayed alive but could also stay with me and another companion... usually Nick or Piper.
Great interview! Courtenay's voice has been in my ear a lot over the years, but definitely a lot the last few months for my female characters in Fallout 4. Her voice and performance never seems out of place no matter which type of female character I create.
I think both of them did a really good job at sounding like smart/cynical people and I actually like Nate and Nora as characters. However, I think Nate can't sound threatening at all.
She has the most beautiful female voice in video games. Deep, soft and comfortable. Sam Fisher (Splinter Cell), voiced by Michael Ironside, has the best male voice. His voice is so damn cool.
So glad I made my second character a female. Her voice is awesome and makes everything better. It kind of reminds me of Femshep voiced by Jennifer Hale.
Every single breath, every casual dialog/complain to random characters of Courtney fill the game with the sense of “the wasteland”, she indeed is the woman who traveled through time and space, only to find herself alone in the deserted world.
Aww man, she's the coolest. Courtney and Brian were amazing as Nora and Nate. Gotta love them. I'm gonna be honest, Brian T. Delaney dominated as the King of Sarcasm in Fallout 4 and Courtney Taylor holds the crown for Queen of empathy and compassion.
To bad a lot of complained about the added voices to the two main characters..I thought it was a nice addition and yes I played the other Fallout's so it's probably a feature we're not going to see in future Fallout's.
Yeah, Fallout 4 having a voiced protag definitely made the roleplaying and choice making less deep than previous games.. but man, I will never get sick of hearing Courtenay's voice as my character. She was the perfect casting for this game.
What I want to know most of all is what faction she thinks Nora would side with. Does Nora belive in saving Synths and to what extent at what cost? Would Nora kill her son Shaun or save the Child Synth Shaun? And how would knowing Synth will eventually replace mankind affect her view on Synths? I really like Noras dialog with Allen Lee in Far Harbor, It almost feels like there's attraction between them.. I have so many more questions.
Holy shit after putting 300 hours in this game, 200 being in the female character because a lot of people told me the voice actress is much better, I'd recognise Nora's voice anywhere it is ingrained into my brain
I went with institute but them I felt bad for betraying desdemonas trust so reloaded and went with railroad. wasnt able to side with minutemen. siding with institutes means all Shaun's work and kidnapping was a pointless and all Noras suffering was pointless
***** Of course. But their goal is not completely nefarious. Their way of going about getting it is less than desireable, but that can be changed once we take over. And Shaun is our son, and that is the most important thing.
Her sarcasm in the game was amazing. Goat simulator PRO bet it’s May 2020 and i still play it
At the start Nora doesn’t sound right
for some reason I always lost my mind whenever you get the idiot savant perks and all you would hear was "yeAAA!" and "HA hA HA ha HA"
@@goatsimulatorpro6062 I still play it! Over a hundred hours in and plan to go back soon.

Love her voice.
Love your animations.

HOLY SHIT SHE PLAYED JACK IN MASS EFFECT!
I swear her voice sounded familiar...
After playing with both the female and male sole survivor, I say the female did the much better job of becoming the sole survivor
Why?

I love Courtenay's voice, can't wait to see her in more games :)
It was hard not to see my Fallout 4 character if I didn't watch the screen.
I love her as Jack in Mass Effect, wish she appeared more in ME3.
Her normal voice sounds like Nora to me.
That's awesome. Courtney picked Minutemen, so did I (but only because I wanted three of the four factions alive now so I could decide after all the DLC if I need to destroy any of them later). Really great interview... thanks. Agree- Jack was amazing!
Now I have to replay Fallout 4 all over again just to enjoy Courtenay's voice acting.
That’s a very sexy voice. Nora nailed every line. Nora is my Fav ^^

“Watch your tone, synth” before the Battle of Bunker Hill (with the institute) is my favorite line of hers in the game
I think both of them did a really good job at sounding like smart/cynical people and I actually like Nate and Nora as characters.
However, I think Nate can't sound threatening at all.
Don't forget Gloria van graff
Some Fiends too
SHE DID THE VOICE OF GLORIA VAN GRAFF???
@@damiendemers7495 Yes indeed. It's why I couldn't kill Gloria in any of my 3 completions of the game.
Her voice has that special something
Perfect way to describe
She has the most beautiful female voice in video games. Deep, soft and comfortable.
Sam Fisher (Splinter Cell), voiced by Michael Ironside, has the best male voice. His voice is so damn cool.
I just finished the game and I’m so in love with her voice 😍😍😍😍
She did an amazing job on F4. I love her voice so much I can listen to her all day.
Her play along option with the robot in nuka world, was awesome.
The game should have been 60 gigs, instead of 28. That extra 32 gigs being voice dialogue. Great interview. Love Nora!
So glad I made my second character a female.
Her voice is awesome and makes everything better.
It kind of reminds me of Femshep voiced by Jennifer Hale.
Hearing her speak gives me chills

I'm going to guess her favorite line was "Maybe we could call In the Marines" In Far Harbor.
Best line is in Nuka Wolrd DLC "Eh excuse me mister Raide boss but I have and idea" XD

FuckFace : No I'm here for a large pepperoni and a calzone, name is "Fuck You"

Why is this in my recommended 4 years later
She also voices Gloria van graff in new vegas
Close ur eyes and ur fallout character is being interviewed
Nora canonically makes good cookies
easily one of the best game voice actors, the males sarcastic/"evil" dialogue options are sooooooo cringy, while female is so badass
I didn't know she was the motion capture for Ada Wong in Resident Evil 6. Watching the interview it was easy to see especially in her eyes.
The baseball quote is my favorite one too. I knew she was going to say that lol
Nora:Me and the thousands guinia pig ....they turn Carnivorous
Love that voice. I dont play fem characters but this had me thinking about it
I think there are more Nora then Nate players, still now with SS2 rolling it's so fun...
I think Bethesda made a mistake revamping the dialogue but Courtney Taylor almost singlehandedly makes up for that.
Should have asked her if she recorded any dialogue for the cut underwater quest.
