Me and my wife just retired couple years ago. We don’t own any mortgage any more and due to high cost of living in California our monthly expenses is somewhere around $2700 a month. We would love to retire in the Philippines but our children are aware of our health issues but we get to visit the Philippines each year. We spent 4 months there a year ago.

I'm moving there in 3 weeks and I have a budget of 75k monthly and about $11k savings. I am not coming to meet a woman. I hope it happens, but not in a hurry. I usually stay home and don't go to bars and eat mostly at home. I think I will be ok.

Do not live in dumaguete that income will not last there you need to move out into the provinces the further up the mountain the cheaper it is it will be tough on 75k a month keep the 11k in bank for medical

If I had that amount and was living according to what you say I would not have a problem living here... The only question might be as If you have a lot of debt... If you do not have any debt personally I would be quite happy with that amount myself... If living simply , a simple lifestyle.

Konting aral pa sa accounting, girl para sa mas effective na pagba-budget.. For example, credit card payments are not expenses. Items or services spent using credit cards are "expenses". Also, set up a budget for emergency funds. If in a month, funds were not used up, roll the exxcess over to the next month. If it went over, plan to reduce spending for the next month.

That's a lot of money for allowances. Kids in USA don't get that much

100-120k + a healthy savings account is a reasonable aim

My wife is the same way! I love her to death, best thing I could have ever done, marrying a Filipina woman.

Having been stationed at AMERICA 🇺🇸 base Clark Air Base Philippines 🇵🇭 back in 1991.. I have wanted to return and retire in the Philippines 🇵🇭. I am a widower, wife passed away in 2016.I have (4) adult children and (5) grandchildren. I am currently age 61. Next year in 2025,I will be eligible to retire. I know it is best to have a retirement income in the Philippines 🇵🇭. I plan to move to CEBU City, Philippines 🇵🇭. I do not drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes. Thank you for your budget information 😊

Thanks for the video, my monthly budget is $1500 and I live in Tunasan, Muntinlupa City by south of Manila plus don't rely living pension to pension, you need extra savings and emergency funds. I'm very happy enough not paying any mortgage or rent. I know 5 farangs living there and all military veterans.

A local Filipino can't afford most of the expenses in the Philippines, foreigners can afford it of course. Your budget don't make sense, compared to a local Filipino income.

I assume you are retired or retiring soon. You can arrange your govt pensions ( cpp or qpp and oas) deposited straight to your Philippines bank account. Keep your Canadian checking account for your company pension, rrsp, and other non govt pension. Came from winnipeg myself

I use Remitly to transfer money overseas (many countries). Remitly charge your credit card, Mastercard in my case. I then pay off my Mastercard through my BMO online banking. I opened a bank account in VietNam and that's how I got my travel funds without bringing more than 3000 CDN in cash when going through customs. I don't know the regulation for a foreigner to open a bank account in the Philippines however, you need to check that out..
Beware that your OAS will be cut off if you stay abroad longer than 6 months. Your CCP will not be affected.
