Great clip👊 I’m often watching and witness the same first approach or presentation technique in both salt and freshwater, just getting knee deep and cast as far as we possibly can. You guys doing any “short” cast presentations ? I believe we have the best of both worlds and we tend to use first the one it’s usually more challenging. I personally learned more on how the presentation works from short cast than the farther ones. Just my two cents also Tim Be well Mag
I am Just getting into spey/switch rods .I also Just have the same #3 Maxcatch rod. Now i would like to know your set-up. I ordered Maxcatch 200 & a 250gr scandi heads. (Also a skagit btw, 12ft. 110gr.head with some polyleaders. Yes, all cheap. But i have a couple other fly fishing stuff from China , and they fishing good. Even the vise, I am happy with . Now we in Holland dont have beautiful rivers with trout, nor salmon anymore. But the rivers are very deel. So Zanders, Big Pike, , bass etc is why i can use the switch rod. I drool over video's like this , because the waters in N.America are so pretty. The mountains surrounding. Or Just the immense plains ,anyway for a dutch man its heaven these waters. So, I hope my set-up Will be good. Same"Skytouch" #3 rod. A 200 & a 250grains shooting head(same as in this and two otter of your video's) and I have a thin running line coming i think i am in business??
Let me know how you like it and thank you for the input, it’s great to hear . Let me know when you get your rod and lines and how you like them after you fish them for a while. Sometimes I chop the max catch Skagit heads back a little bit, say a couple feet from the front to help them turn over heavy tips. Thank you for your kind remarks
