David Murray - Actually, he did it in a way that lets Touch ID work. Did you not watch the whole video and pay attention?
(Also, you happen to have the same name as one of my favorite UA-camrs. (The 8-Bit Guy))
But the accessibility touch button was on the screen, meaning it wasn't working.

The fingerprint scanner is actually the ring around the button, not the button itself.

The home button works even if you just change the display and the home button.
But to make the Touch ID work you have to transfer over the logic board with the home button as well.
So the phone in this video will function properly.
If you replace everything it should work

Thats a ultra clean set up! Surprisingly I think the matte black came out pretty decent as well even being tri-colored and all.
Why didn't you replace the case on the iPhones. That way the home button would still work...
TheGamingFireUltra - Because the whole point of the project was to replace the front panel on the iPhone so it can have that devilish color scheme. Black & red, probably his favorite colors. I would not be surprised. Otherwise, it would've just been a pointless autopsy where you just take it apart, and put it back together.
