I also got a tip for u @gamerzakh Your music stops because u instantly sent the requested goods to the emperor while using the shortcut in the pop up message. The solution is clicking away the pop up message and sent the goods trough the normal way via the menu or by pressing 3. If u do that the music will never stop anymore.
I think i find another way to deal with immigration glitch, based on destroying 1x1 tents when immigrants near new houses, and clicking cancel button when new houses almost filled(in period when houses destroyed their pop limit didnt cound, till guy from house get back). 1x1 houses bcz they spawn one guy who start slowly leaving, and if you click cancel button he will turn back. 2x2 tents still spawn only one guy, so 1x1 hold 5 pop, and if you destroy 2x2 tent and click cancel you gonna lose 15 population, so to prevent that i use only 1x1 tents. Sorry for my english tho. Not sure its better than method mentioned by you or i its already known but i find it a bit easier personally.
You gifted little sun of a ….I have struggled for years and years and you just "tra La La" and cruise through it like nothing-ON HARD! I love/hate you! You're so good that I have started over again to follow in your footsteps. I had a huge city with great stats-except for Prosperity. 45! But I couldn't stabilize it. I was trying to give everybody everything. I should have thought more like an elitist and given the riff raff only wheat and pottery! Genius! I hate/love you.
Haha! It took me years to be able to figure this out and pull it off. Been playing Caesar 3 consistently since 2012 and my recent special challenge playthrough taught me a lot of new tricks. When you figure out how to win the final military mission in a heretic city of constant god curses, other limitations don't seem so bad.
Thanks to you GZI finally won Lugdunum Caesar III! Months and Years of low land magic pigs, furious Gods and Goddesses, Landslides, rebellious warehouses, deserters, wild wolves, rocks, and barbarian mobs! Not to mention blind market ladies! I am finally free and on to the dry desert of Tarsus.
I built a city very much like GZ on UA-cam I must admit. I shut down weapons and iron to have enough employees to cover culture dumps-and I found a clever barbarian block that I filled with a few houses and amenities that put me over 5000 population and it finally paid off. Not giving the masses furniture and oil did the trick. (Pottery, theaters, schools and amphitheaters, were enough for the working class neighborhoods.) I tried so hard for years now to do it all for everybody! (SOCIALISM!) Like ancient Rome, my six Grand Villa's for the elite (who got everything: meat, fruit, oil, wine, furniture, (expensive imports!) pottery, colosseums, libraries, academies, Hospitals) did the rest. But I'll take the VICTORY! I finally stood on the Emperor's balcony and accepted the staff of VICTORY to the cheers of the adoring crowd. The roar of the crowd sure was sweet. Better than the beat of the drum of a galley slave which were my many previous results. (Notice that my original comment was a year ago!)
I got this game in 2004 just before heading to basic in the army. I kept this game the entire time. From lraq to Afghanistan to Europe and to Israel. I played this without a guide and just found out secrets and more tips from this video now that what I knew before. Made me love this game even more. Just the entire game really made you feel like you were a Roman governor. You also learned how to buy and sell by trade. How to sell resources and sell the proper amount and save just enough for your city.
I subscribed to you when I found that you were one of the very few people who still played my favorite childhood game, and the tutorials you give are good and genuine. I beat this game through sheer willpower when I was 12 but it took months and months of time. To see you do it in a little over an hour is heartbreaking because you never struggle like I did, but it's definitely improved my overall game as I go back and replay them. Good stuff my friend!!
Hey thanks! And don't worry, I struggled a LOT for these games. I did my first Caesar 3 playthrough in 2012 and another one last year, and only after years of playing the game and messing things up can I do Lugdunum in an hour and a half. This video is just a culmination of everything I've learnt over the last 7 years.
@@GamerZakh Well your experience definitely shows!! I'm still no pro yet either, but your suggestions and placements definitely make the game go by a lot faster!! Haha
Thanks for your great tips. All my time playing I never knew about keeping roads as small and compact as possible. I used to build large cities and connect all the roads wondering why my houses wouldn't upgrade when everything needed was close by. Thanks a bunch!
Hahaha, loved watching you showing off that “reservoir trick”. I can just watch you doing that all day no matter how many times you have already done. LOL.
Hooo man, so many many THANK YOU !!! I've been stuck for AGES on this map, and now, thanks to you, I managed to finish it ! I played this level every day for a week and didn't beat it (came very close several times). Learned a lot about what not to do. I figured out destination walkers on my own, but just learned not to bother giving furniture to the pebs! So glad to be past this. Loved every mission up to this point but I hope the rest isn't this frustrating geographically. Thanks Zakh.
I was grown when this first came out, but it was one of the first PC games I played! I decided to give it a try again for the first time in 23 years. Your vids have made me facepalm and ask “why didn’t I know that!!!” You rock!

Hi, thank you for giving me confidence. Now I feel like I want to try to conquer this map! I found you a while back when I first started Caesar like a month ago. I haven’t gave up! I beat Miletus! Then I saw this next map and was having serious anxiety. You made it look so easy! Your tips and tricks were amazing! I like your plaza shirt! If I wasn’t so broke I’d be getting one! 😊 Thank you for helping the newbies! You’re my hero.
@@GamerZakh I just wanted to let you know I finally beat this map!!! It took like 3 weeks but I did it. My god that map was hard without trying to do big villas.
I have no words for this, you're awesome, i started the game really well, started in military way first, i thougth that carthago was the hardest, and then lugdunum said nope, I’ve been stuck on this for almost 3 days, i even watched this video 2 times but was really fun! finally i can continue thanks to you Mr.Zakh, you're the best:) pd: i hope cesar won't need your meat again that much lol
Man, what a throwback. My best friend had this game and I played the fuck out of it for years after it came out. Mostly when I was 9-12 years old. So good! Thanks for the sweet tutorials, I just realized it's only $6 on Steam!
Glad you enjoyed it! If you want to extend the experience, over the last couple years the community has been modding the game with a project called Augustus.
@@GamerZakh I only have a macbook, but I share my partner's sweet-ass gaming rig so I will defffffinitely check that out. I can't believe how good it looks, even today. I'll never stop loving that 2D top-down isometric shit. Thanks for the tip, and for the videos! They're fun to watch, but also really relaxing to listen to while I write about Apex Legends for work. Sometimes I even put them on to go to sleep. I'm reviving my YT channel soon so I might end up making some C3 videos myself! None of my business: you have a great voice, but for the life of me, I can't place your accent. Where are you from? (No pressure on answering - like I said, not my business, just curious.)
@@Beauty_Bot Thank you for the kind words! I'm Eurasian, so my accent is mixed as well. Born and lived in Malaysia but half English descent. Phil Wang the comedian has a similar background to me and similar accent.
My copy of Caesar 3 allows me to import buildings from other maps, like, I'm playing a mission that only allows me to plant wheat, so I'll save the game, exit to main meny, open a skirmish with a pig farm, select it, click and hold with it on the ground to build one but only release it once someone walks over it, so it won't get placed. Then open the load game menu, load the city that only allowed wheat, and bam, the cursos is, for some reason, holding a pig farm. I used to do it all the time when I was younger to get weapons, resources, military and triumph arcs everywhere. Fun times. I don't know if GOG or Steam version allow that. The one I own is from a CD that came on a PC Gamer magazine.
this video helped me some. the only problem I had was that I didn't realice that it doesn't mater where things such as theaters are as long as you have acces to one, so I used the destination walk to give everyone accces in the city. in the end, following your guide, I had some problems with workers, but managed to get my ratings up by alternating from prioritising entertainment and health and glitched one of them to max before the other one was under staffed
Great tutorial, Zach! I learned a lot. (I confess I was in suspense about how long it would take for you to remember you'd forgotten barbers for your patricians, though ; ) )
Love your content. There was a lot of time to watch your Caesar 3 videos during the lockdown. And as always: the rich people of Lugdunum weren't taxed... smh
Everytime i am learning something about how to play. Really thank u for doing these videos. Hope when i play lugdunum again caesar wants my meats too :)))
It's great Zakh, well done. I hope someone points to the times where you provide all your tricks :) I didn't know that the general coverage of entertainment could affect house evolvings. When I got that message from the house, I would simply build a collosseum for them...
Thanks for the vid. I played this when it came out and got stuck on this one. Prosperity was the main problem. Started playing again a few days ago and decided to find some info to help and this vid was what I found. Knew a couple of the tips but, the walker trick doesn't work for the Colosseum on my computer, not sure why. I noticed that the problem you may have been having with the northern granary may have been that the other one they were taking from was out when the walker started to go to get more. The north one was the only other one they could go get it from. Thanks again and I'm watching the other vids before I start on those areas. Valentia is up next
Thanks to you and this video yesterday I won lungdunum after years of disinformation. Thanks to the 10-fundamental-point video I finally know gatehouse, brown walkers, the no-needed colosseum to reach insularle, and so on. Because you know... I think nowhere you can find these information. Thanks a lot. I did it without villas. I've followed you here and on twitch. I also appreciated the new-up-coming videos of strategy and city building games for the next years.
In Augustus mod I easily beat it yesterday by evolving all houses to grand insulaes. No villas. 4 equal blocks centrally supplied from bottom central trading location for oil and furniture workshops. No settlements on top farming plato. No tricks. It's all about strict logistics control and it's way more satisfying now. Also cart stations and highways further streamline main distribution lines.
This game is hard. I started following your channel because of it. Nowadays I really prefer watching you play than playing it myself. This immigration glitch is too painful for me... Haha
It is annoying haha, I always recommend to just drop difficulty after starting the mission so money is vary hard money but you get to 300 people and up it back to very hard. I can't do that because people would complain.
well the Immigration glitch only exist on Very hard though, so you could turn it down to hard untill you get past 300 pop, if it is only that part that is the problem
I am not saying it doesn't look easier than it is, every single game (or any activity for that matter) looks super easy when done by ppl who knows everything about it, was just that you mentioned that specific glitch only, why I commented on it, but the game sure have its other share of oddities as well (several of which also shown in this video), and yet so many ppl insist that ond games wasn't riddled with bugs and glitches xD
Damn, rest in peace doggos, shedding a tear for ya :'( No but seriously, the natives were buying so many weapons at one point I was worried they had enough to overthrow 3 roman empires
and a tip to all the people and all the maps. prosperity rises if the housing quality have stabillity untill it reaches the max prosperity rating for the buildings you have. if your city lacks stabillity the prosperity rating doesnt rise. good luck
prosperity gets calculated in the beginning of each year. you were on december month when you won which means if peace had not increased before the end of the year, prosperity would have dropped in january of next year due to the large number of tents and you would not have won the map.
You can pacify the natives with gardens. You only need the mission post until the native chief starts trading. If you put the export warehouse right near the chiefs hut (ie the native trader spawns on the same square as it buys from) thats all the trade you'll need and this mission becomes far far easier.
i remember i restart the map about 3x times, then the 4th one... i barely clear it, thx in your discord :D but kinda stressfull, because the unstable blocks, and yeah probably the furniture bit a problem.. and its tooks me about 2 weeks to beat this map (i know, im not an expert :o )
It's one of the hardest maps! Not because of invasions or money, it's actually hard because of city-building problems, so it's very normal to struggle with this one. I did too for years until I figured out this technique.
This mission is very hard for newbies and ok for experienced players no matter the difficulty. Difficulty makes fights harder (more enemy soldiers, but there are any) and you gain less money from taxes (again, not problem for this map). This map is all about city planning placement.
It's definitely the hardest non-military mission in the campaign really because it forces you to know a lot of secrets about how the game works because of the terrain. The main tips here are actually based on years of playing this game even though they sound simple.
GZ, you should do another playthrough - but do each map upside down. I call it "north is south". The original maps are still the best, but get repetitive after 20 years or so. Do them upside down and it changes them into new maps!
Ok so this one video finally lead me to win! Once again thank you a lot 😇 because it was really hard one... just tell me it won't be so bad with the next map 😅
i had 200.000 dn but all of my houses went to crap because of no pottery, while warehouses were full of it. gonna have to try again and never start selling it. theres lots of stuff in this game that you just need to figure out by many hours of trial and error, its the one thing that i dont like about it.
Hey Zakherino, How about do some more in depth explorations of the game mechanics. For example, how many soldiers min you need to kill wolfs on certain difficulty level. Or how much exactly a shop/farm makes per time period. Since you are pretty specialized in these kind of games, that type of detailed mechanic videos seem like a natural extension.
I've thought about those kinds of videos but the hard part is I'm not actually good at the numbers in these games. I've been playing Caesar 3 consistently for 7 years now and I still don't remember how much food a farm makes every year haha.
This was by far the most difficult town to build in Caesar III. I remember how every pixel was measured to be able to fit the farms. I was 14 years old when found the solution, but I can still remember every detail
So I keep replaying this video, trying to remember all the tricks of the trade and right now my biggest problem is figuring out why I can't get farming started for the lowlands.
Haha technically that's what I did in my first playthrough. It's really hard, you need 100% large insula or some grand insula, meaning 2 types of food. Real tricky, I don't know how I did it back then.
@@GamerZakh I just won without any Villas man ! I did it yesterday It was insane! 6500 populations and my ratings were suffering. Food circulation was so painful. I wish I knew about the furniture and timber purchase : so impossible.
I am determined to beat this map! I have a new problem though. When I create the secondary location for weapons (closer to the natives), weapons don't render. The workshops make them, get to 100%, and BOOM, nothing. They don't take them to the warehouse, they just disappear. I'm going to try and attempt moving them to another spot and see if it works. Anyone else have this issue? This map has been getting buggier lately. UPDATE: I moved it and it works! Still close to the native hut, but fingers crossed I can finally beat this level after *cough* 20 years *cough*

Then I saw this next map and was having serious anxiety. You made it look so easy! Your tips and tricks were amazing! I like your plaza shirt! If I wasn’t so broke I’d be getting one! 😊
Thank you for helping the newbies! You’re my hero.
Hey glad I could help! This map is one of the most difficult for sure. A these tips took me years to figure out, I know the struggle.
@@GamerZakh I just wanted to let you know I finally beat this map!!! It took like 3 weeks but I did it. My god that map was hard without trying to do big villas.
@@kelseycox8632 Congrats! It's definitely a big achievement beating this one.
I have no words for this, you're awesome, i started the game really well, started in military way first, i thougth that carthago was the hardest, and then lugdunum said nope, I’ve been stuck on this for almost 3 days, i even watched this video 2 times but was really fun! finally i can continue thanks to you Mr.Zakh, you're the best:)
pd: i hope cesar won't need your meat again that much lol
Haha congrats on winning the mission. I'm glad I could help, this one is really tricky.
@@GamerZakh IT IS! but you're the best, plaza it uppp!
"Old people might be a problem" - GamerZakh predicting the escalating conflict with boomers
I finally finished this thanks to this, man you did help immensly.
Happy to help! It is a really tough map.
Congrats! It's a really tough mission to beat.
1:31:08 The free plaza trick also works with the shovel. You can remove everything in the start without any cost.
That prosperity thing always gets me with this map, but not anymore, I have the zakhacks.
I think Zakh makes this game look SO much easier than it actually is... when I play it the game just laughs at me, I am so terrible at it haha
Zakh is like the Bob Ross of city building games
I am not saying it doesn't look easier than it is, every single game (or any activity for that matter) looks super easy when done by ppl who knows everything about it, was just that you mentioned that specific glitch only, why I commented on it, but the game sure have its other share of oddities as well (several of which also shown in this video), and yet so many ppl insist that ond games wasn't riddled with bugs and glitches xD
Damn, rest in peace doggos, shedding a tear for ya :'(
No but seriously, the natives were buying so many weapons at one point I was worried they had enough to overthrow 3 roman empires
Goths: Where can I learn this power?
Just downloaded this again im 32 and when i got to this map i just kept loosing the same way i did when i was a kid, this was perfekt thanks 😁
1:05:54 Poor Zakh, giving out his meat to old Roman Emperors since 1998
LOVE the aqueduct trick and your face while showing it :D
Love the videos. Thanks. Will watch all probably. Always learning something new.
Glad you're enjoying it! Took me years to learn all these tricks.
Thanks for making that video!!!! I’ll try very soon! Thank you again
and a tip to all the people and all the maps. prosperity rises if the housing quality have stabillity untill it reaches the max prosperity rating for the buildings you have. if your city lacks stabillity the prosperity rating doesnt rise. good luck
"Plebes don't need beds!" Lol!
prosperity gets calculated in the beginning of each year. you were on december month when you won which means if peace had not increased before the end of the year, prosperity would have dropped in january of next year due to the large number of tents and you would not have won the map.
Good to know thanks
Mind blown! When I was a kid, I always avoided Lugdunum. lol
This is years of experience condensed haha. Lots of tricks and stuff compacted.
You can pacify the natives with gardens. You only need the mission post until the native chief starts trading. If you put the export warehouse right near the chiefs hut (ie the native trader spawns on the same square as it buys from) thats all the trade you'll need and this mission becomes far far easier.
That's a great advice that I didnt know about.
Great, it was only 10 years that i stopped on Lugdunum
i remember i restart the map about 3x times, then the 4th one... i barely clear it, thx in your discord :D
but kinda stressfull, because the unstable blocks, and yeah probably the furniture bit a problem.. and its tooks me about 2 weeks to beat this map (i know, im not an expert :o )
It's one of the hardest maps! Not because of invasions or money, it's actually hard because of city-building problems, so it's very normal to struggle with this one. I did too for years until I figured out this technique.
Gamerzakh is the true "Steve the capitulator" in disguise
I like your plaza t-shirt)
Thank you! Made it myself for the store, but really I just like the idea of plaza-ing things in real life haha.
GamerZakh I would honestly buy that if it was merch
Good news, I got t-shirts and stickers of those plazas haha. gamerzakh.com/store
1:22:44 is the most satisfying moment. Every time I spotted that unevolved Large Casa it really bugged me.
Gamerzach...u heard it here...no doctors=old ppl=Big problem 😂😂😂😂😂
The Closed Caption for the Victory speech started with, "Your treatment of the native girls in Lugdunum..." :D
tossing the food down the cliff to the rich people, haha
You should sell a tshirt with “Don’t give furniture to plebs” on
This mission is very hard for newbies and ok for experienced players no matter the difficulty. Difficulty makes fights harder (more enemy soldiers, but there are any) and you gain less money from taxes (again, not problem for this map). This map is all about city planning placement.
You did it on the first try. :P
Totally yes. Didn't need to restart because of the immigration glitch at all. First time, so easy.
well done man. i v played this map many times with different build but this was too fast . thanks for tips
This map is the bane of my gaming career
It's definitely the hardest non-military mission in the campaign really because it forces you to know a lot of secrets about how the game works because of the terrain. The main tips here are actually based on years of playing this game even though they sound simple.
Do you not need a prefecture in this map to stop fires?
There's no risk of fire on northern maps, the ones with the dark green grass.
GZ, you should do another playthrough - but do each map upside down. I call it "north is south". The original maps are still the best, but get repetitive after 20 years or so. Do them upside down and it changes them into new maps!
That's actually a good idea! I don't think I've ever played these maps facing a different direction.
Ok so this one video finally lead me to win! Once again thank you a lot 😇 because it was really hard one... just tell me it won't be so bad with the next map 😅
Really worked! Thanks for the video
Glad I could help!
@@GamerZakh I like your videos and the way you interact with your fans!
I finally made it :D was stuck on 40-45 for weeks :)
Caesar III is love.
The acueduct secret blew my mind 😱🤯🤯🤯🤯
Oh, you got my attention!
i had 200.000 dn but all of my houses went to crap because of no pottery, while warehouses were full of it. gonna have to try again and never start selling it. theres lots of stuff in this game that you just need to figure out by many hours of trial and error, its the one thing that i dont like about it.
watering a 7X7 block is the bigest you can water with a single founten. this is the reason i always use the 7X7 blocks
Hello zack please we need more zeus and ceaser gameplays thank you
You're in luck! I just released 2 new videos for Caesar 3.
24:53 laughing loudly at this point!
Lol sometimes you can just do things
Hey Zakherino,
How about do some more in depth explorations of the game mechanics.
Il y a encore des gens qui joue à Caesar III en 2019 ? Cimer chef !
Oui, c'est quand même un bon jeu vidéo!
This was by far the most difficult town to build in Caesar III. I remember how every pixel was measured to be able to fit the farms. I was 14 years old when found the solution, but I can still remember every detail
"this is the reservoir trick"...
me : WHAT THE FU*K!!!
24:44 Terima kasih abang Zakh
So I keep replaying this video, trying to remember all the tricks of the trade and right now my biggest problem is figuring out why I can't get farming started for the lowlands.
Wow, your build is just so much better than mine.
It comes from years of doing bad builds haha. One of my playthroughs I literally did "dumb challenges" on every map and it taught me a lot.
How about a no-villa challenge for Lugdunum~ 😜😜😜
The trick at 25:01 why have I never thought of this!
It's definitely not intended.
"I wanted to kill the immigrant, don't ask me why" is one helluva poignant social commentary
ah here we are. i watched the second video and i thought there is only one. thanks
Hey Zakh, what do you think of the City Constructrion Kit missions? Some of them are quite challenging, like Corinthus. Would be cool, seeing you tackle them :)
I probably should check them out properly, I've never played them before.
GRAN....DONT BE WATCHING GAMERZACK😂😂
Thanks for this big time. 🙏
thank you...FOR REAL !
Glad I could help!
zakh has speed runner level of knowledge about this game lol
Haha somewhat, but I'm naturally slow, so speedrunning isn't quite my forte.
You should add this to the City Building Doctor playlist. :)
Oh did I forget? Thanks! Will do it now.
I thought I was doing well in City building until I see this
I would like to see you on Mediolanum map :)
Never could beat this map ...
I beat it pretty okay in my latest playthrough. Did a 3-deep housing challenge on that map.
