Hi Jim, happy new year mate ! The Swamp Ash and Fiore's look great, probably what I'd go for if I ever moved up to a Core model. The great thing about PRS, constantly making small updates, is that bargains can be had on 'last years model' guitars. I just worked out, that on 3 of my SE's, I've saved around £1000 in total, buying brand new but discontinued models, but as the improvements year on year are often very subtle, I don't feel I'm missing out on the newest and shiniest thing. I love the satin as well, my SE Standard 24 is in satin black, including the neck, which makes it a joy to play, I wonder if the new models have satin necks as well ? All love to you and yours, cheers, Robbo
I imagine they would have the satin necks, it'd be pretty on brand to do that. the whole buy last year as soon as the next year/thing comes out is brilliant too, fantastic way to save some money without losing out on anything imo
I’m not sure if it’ll be a PRS or anytime soon, but I will absolutely have a guitar in that finish and name it after my own dog because it’s really that spot on to his fur
Though I really like some of the finish options, I have never really connected with PRS guitars. Probably because I have never spent much time with them. Sooner or later I need to play around with one for a month or so to see if it grows on me. One finish I would like to see is a medium gloss. A little shiny and a little satin. I'd call it shiny satin.
About the only reason I got a PRS SE 594 Double cut is because of the short 24.594 scale and that you can get it in a double cut but Gibson you just have the single cut option. The neck is thick with a 10 inch diameter. I bought it used for 599 on Reverb then had a custom setup done because 2 frets were too high and the nut was setup to high but the local tech said the rest of the guitar was excellent.it was made in Indonesia.
The problem is you really have to find the right ones and more importantly the wrong ones and most of that is coming to come down to the neck profile. Once you figure out what you like and you hold it in your hands its like a light bulb moment and it all makes sense
@@AudiomoMusic I’m just a beginner but the really flat radius thin necks like Thin C felt too thin. I have small hands but the SE McCarty 594 double cut neck just felt right. 25.5 scale also just didn’t feel right
see I thought the same kinda thing, I thought I would like the pattern thin neck a lot, but I have never kept a PRS with that neck shape! I also love the bigger necks on the 594s while also having smaller hands.
@ Problem is access to a lot of them to play for a bit. Nothing really close and I think I need to play a guitar a week or two to decide if it works for me. I will have to check them out sometime when I am near a large store, but a PRS is a little down the list of wants.
Nice. I just ordered from ams the last prs ce 24-08 “black limba”. It’s on its way. Apparently they only made 400 . It looked really cool in pics. My first ce this will be, e! lol I’ve had a se, s2, core. Sold them all eventually. I also prefer a satin finish. I like the look of “plain wood” as well so that’s why this appealed to me. My house is full of early 1900s furniture that I picked up from thrift stores for cheap. So much style and real wood back then. Anywho lol.
Man we have some more stuff in common, we have so much super old furniture and relics in the house and everything else including the blue chair I sit in for the videos was a thrift store buy haha! I like the black limba let me know how you like it - I was tempted by the swamp ash version in blue but it's just not the best time for me to buy another guitar haha
@ nice lol. Thrift stores rule. It’s much better than buying a $90 cabinet from Walmart that breaks after you move it once. I’m hoping I like the ce it seems really cool. I’ll let you know.
Nice guitars and some of the finishes are nice (but not a big fan of dark pickup rings tbh but that’s such a small thing) prices over here in the UK are often nuts again for PRS though and to be honest, nice as they are, I can’t justify 4/5k for a standard guitar as there’s many well built alternatives with pickups I prefer a lot cheaper imo, but that’s said it’s great for PRS fans to have more options and more price points. What I would want is a CE22 or 24 with the proper cut body and electronics and some of their more vintage style pickups and push/push pots but that’s just me 😂😂
@@AudiomoMusic it is a pick up configuration that i have actually never played or owned but i would love to see whats doing, i was thinking of picking up an SE but i have nothing in that price range that im willing to sell off. The Vola JZ is another one that has me curious even though its really SSS it still has that look.
I wanted the standard, but its too costly. I'm actually looking at the Swamp Ash Special. I like the different tonal options and the price point. We'll see...
I think people in general are in for a bit of sticker shock across all brands in the near future. I’m shocked PRS released models that were more affordable than last years at all even if the finish is different.
@ I already have 3 PRS guitars. Semi Hollow CE 24, Custom 24 Piezo and a S2 Semi Hollow Satin Vela. Love em All!! I was intrigued by the Standard 24 Satin with the DMO pickups until I saw the $3500 price tag 🤮
I can appreciate that but I always find them to look better in person, usually. Plus, with play, they start whining up a little, giving the opposite relic look, which is pretty cool--well some of the satin finishes at least.
I have a Satin S2 PRS Semi Hollow Vela in McCarty Tobacco Sunburst and it's sweet looking and playing with the Satin neck. Really light guitar too. Blew away my expectations. Handles any genre
I‘m with you. Satin finishes always look cheap to me and in my opinion don’t look better with wear, but worse. The lack of grain filler makes dings and scratches look like more exaggerated structural damage. Just makes the bodies look broken rather than road worn.
I like PRS guitars but people need to invest in a good amp before spending 3-5k on guitar. You can put a 300 dollar guitar through a friedman bogner boogie and sound amazing or spend 3/5k on a guitar through a cheap modeler or cheap amp and still sound like ass. It’s the most basic of noob mistakes. You’ll see a guy with anderson suhr and prs but his amps are dogshit. 😂

The platinum Myles Kennedy just became my dream guitar for 2025

We didn't realize how good the older CE's were until it was too late haha
@ yeah tbh they’re my favourite of any PRS I’ve played - those old ones were stunning, wish I kept mine 😂🙈
I don’t like black pick up rings litter. To make it worse when they put silver screws in them. Just leave it without any rings if you don’t use white.
The DMO pick-ups are used in my sandblasted SE ce24 when i can buy them!
already ordered my standard satin black pearl 24.
nice!!! i cant wait to hear what people think about the new pickups
please demo the Fiore! I hope they release an SE and Rosewood fretboard for those. :D
i would LOVE for them to do both of those things and i will find a way to review one of those at some point
The Swamp ash Specials are the stars of the line up imo!
I'd like em more without the middle pickup HsH always looks weird to me haha

What stand is that in the background? Thank you
Xvive butterfly stand, love it
Santana core?
still fighting the urge to pick up one of those cheap se ce24 satin
i keep looking at one that's 399 and 7lbs and it is indeed tempting haha
@@AudiomoMusic dude yes. Saw one at 6.6 lbs... I don't need it but I want it!
Does the new modern eagle v totally different wiring is cool ? i think less better than before
Already have two Fiores (Larkspur and Sunflower), but that lilac looks unavoidable. Damn.
Ya got great taste, i want one so bad
I wanted the standard, but its too costly. I'm actually looking at the Swamp Ash Special. I like the different tonal options and the price point. We'll see...
Lotta coin even for the SaS, if you really want the standard just save for it.
Nice looking Guitars... but the price of the PRS guitars keep going UP to the point many won't even consider these.

got mine...........now i need a newer one! 2025
Silver sky ?..
Nothing as of yet, i was surprised by the lack of a custom color
I don't care for satin finishes. I like pretty and shiny!

As the wise Larry Carlton once said, buy the best amp you can afford and then buy a guitar you find comfortable
