    I never used a rice cooker in my entire life as me and my family always cooked rice with the traditional stove and pot. I recently got interested in rice cookers as I see people in videos putting rice and water into the rice cooker with little effort and rice rice comes out perfect !!! I hope this rice cooker is as good as people say it is !

    I bought one of these used at a garage sale about 10 years ago after the one my wife brought with her from Japan finally broke. We were going about to buy one of those super high-end ones for $500+ but stumbled on a deal for the used NS-ZCC10 for around $20. Ten years later, after daily use, it's time to buy a new one. I can't think of a reason not to buy the same model. After reading hundreds of reviews for everything from Hitachi, Tiger, Panasonic, Cuckoo, Zojirushi, etc, I don't see any others that would be a significant improvement at any price. 😅

    My instructions state that the green measuring cup was used only for pre-washed rice and the clear measuring cup is for rice that needs to be rinsed.

    Thanks for the review. I believe its pronounced Zoji-rushi with a "Z" 😅. But in all seriousness, I just picked this guy up as well. Had super solid reviews. Also made in Japan. Not all Zojirushi rice cookers are made in Japan. One thing to note... I saw you using the green measuring cup which is actually for prewashed rice. I'm not sure if yours is prewashed. If so, you don't need to wash. And secondly, if you are using prewashed rice, you have to click the "Pre-Washed" setting. Green button. Otherwise use the clear cup provided instead! Hopefully it comes out even better than you already says it does!

    Mine is a really basic rice cooker, it's still perfect and just cost a fraction of this rice cooker. It is true that basic rice cooker don't cook even, but at the end of the cooking process, you simply mix the rice using the spatule and let it rest for 5min and it's all even !

      @@UTECHPIA it is almost 400€ to get this Japanese quality made rice cooker here in France 😢 you make me wanna taste the difference 😅 unfortunately, here, most asian restaurants use the biggest version of the basic rice cooker.
      I’ll have to check a real fancy Japanese restaurant maybe. Unless you are a rice lover and expert (like my barista side), a regular user would really accept the price ratio ?
      I have a question for you, this one make me hesitate also : for 2 cup of rice, how long does it take to finish the cooking process ?
      My basic Rice cooker took only 15min to cook, I’ll add 5min after stirring the rice and cook again to get the perfect finish.

    • @UTECHPIA
      @UTECHPIA  Рік тому

      Hi Chad, they are preset to make the "perfect" rice based on the type of rice you want. It is very consistent, once you figure out the way you like your rice cooked, then you can ALWAYS repeat it! :)

    • @Galactusz007
      @Galactusz007 Рік тому +4

      @@UTECHPIA In other words, you have no clue on regular rice vs sushi rice.

    • @Galactusz007
      @Galactusz007 Рік тому

      Sushi rice is stickier, so you can shape them into a block. Regular white rice is fluffier and breaks down easier.

    • @SnowClover
      @SnowClover 6 місяців тому

      So white rice is merely a heading, not a setting, to show that the settings underneath are for white rice. The settings below it are "Reg/sushi" "softer" and "harder. All 3 of these are for White rice, but it is to select how how firm you want want the rice to be. You wouldn't use any of those settings for brown rice because they are for white rice, you would select the brown rice setting which is on the other side of the machine screen.
