Need @The Motor Oil Geek and Hot Shot's to go head to head on this podcast
Lake Speed Junior said that additives are bad for engines. Though ???
He has no skin in the game so I'm inclined to believe him, especially with the data he presents, over companies reps selling a product
Lake is correct, don't use additives!
Watched that video last week. I’ll take Speed’s findings with all his science he did compared to this guy.
@@mxbrad04lake absolutely blasted additives. It was amazing
Lake speed, says not to use them because it could dilute the additive packages, or react with the motor oils, lake has yet to speak on stiction build up in diesels, because it does happen and it does have to be addressed
I just put in stiction eliminator in my 6.0 and my wife’s 5.0 f150. So far I am noticing better starting and running on my 6.0 and on the 5.0 is seeing about an increase of about 1 mpg at the moment.
Don’t use oil additives in any engine, ever. Fuel additives can be helpful keeping things clean, but oil is already formulated to be exactly what you need. Adding more ZDDP for example can actually cause more wear.
My theory is this if you need to put a additive in your oil, just buy a better quality oil
2004 f250 6.0 130kmiles.
I use the original green stuff and daily diesel fuel additive. My Truck is loaded to 8k and the trailer is 6.2k. When I first used the oil additive the oil was nasty after 5k miles. It's been relatively clean at 5k changes since. Still using it and still have power as per my foot. Thanks Hotshot Diesel.
Just watch the Lake Speed video. OIL ADDITIVES ARE SNAKEOIL. Actually most hurt your engine especially the Hot Shot Secret additive
They actually forgot to mention how much higher tbn is and some other levels were better if you looked at the chart. Don’t just take the word on someone who isn’t a tribologist and ignores very important analysis sheets.
And he did this with research, not speculation.
This gentleman is a class act. Well-spoke and informative.
All oil starts basic, then we have companies that add additives which are for wear etc… so say what you want but coming from a guy that uses Amsoil with hotshot. I’ll do me and you do whatever. I know from experience it works!!
My sentiments exactly, from my own personal experience. Their additives, I believe, have saved me thousands of dollars.
I like the content, much appreciated. I like learning and listening to people that know what they are talking about. My personal goal is to see how many miles I can take my truck to. The higher the mileage the better obviously, but I am testing these products and only time will tell. I think hotshot is on the ball 👍
Patrick this is why I subscribed to your channel Thank you my friend
I had a 99 Powerstroke with 198,000 miles that I used Redline diesel oil and it had zero blow by when I sold it. Confirmed with a ping pong ball. Injectors worked perfect! Redline oil has those group 5 oils that they use in there stiction eliminator in their oil. So just run Redline 🤷♂️🤣
I like there EDT diesel fuel additive with the added lubricity + certain booster keeps system clean and fuel knock down I also like LX4 by its self
Let’s see if this is the convo I had with Kyle at the National in Phx.. 🤞
Oil Additives have no warranty unlike engine oils. The manufacturers of oil additives are under no obligation to compensate you if they send a bad product out the door.
Question for the hotshots secret guys. Does the stiction elemenator work for the IDI engines?
Not heui aka oil driven injectors. Factually will not do anything for an IDI.
Get him back to tell us about the F3 and that purple bottle, not sure what it is
Redline diesel oil will not leave carbon deposits. Group 4&5.
High quality oils do not need additives. Amsoil, Red Line etc for sure do not need help.
AMSOIL or nothing.
Same here but hotshots has awesome fuel additives and their stiction eliminator has done great things for me and my family.
He isnt telling the whole truth. Running Redline oil will not cause these issues. This may be for people that neglect to use a good quality oil and dont change the oil soon enough. Sounds like a used car salesman to me
Oil additives no good just fuel
Shits a scam, asking the guy who sells it if it's good. Brilliant this is a joke
Ive tried the stiction eliminator in my early 04 6.0 as "preventative maintenance". Smelled horrible going in, and amelled terrible when running. It actually made it run noticably rougher at idle and when started, and wasted 4 gallons of oil getting that garbage out of it. Didnt make ANY difference in my 03 7.3 either, besides the damn smell.
Drianed and filled the 6.0 with motorrcraft 10/30 in winter and now ise texas refinery corp oil, and dont mess with additives anymore. Runs, idles and starts better WITHOUT additives.
Ran this product for 5k on the 7.3, and didn't notice any change what so ever with or without it. Back to my regular TRC oil. Runs great as always. Last time I'll use a hotshot product or recommend it.
Project farm(AWESOME channel) does testing on the fr3 additive and the results speak for themselves.
I wont give away or waste another dime to hotshots anything.
Just one data point to track from one American to another, trying to get value for thier $. Hotshots is snake oil folks.
Wouldn't say it if it wasnt true. Factually in my case, as tested in two different rigs, by a certified Ford diesel dealer tech... Don't waste your $ people. Use good quality oil and clean fuel. Change oil and FF on time. Thats all you need. 300k 7.3 and 200k 6.0, never needed additives to get these completely trouble free miles. Tried this stuff because marketing hupaloopa, and did absolutely nothing but smelled terrible and actually ran worse in my 6.0. That'll never again.
