Glass surfing: I recommend putting the cardboard inside of terrarium, when you put it outside the reflection is still there. Also you can substitute cardboard with reptile carpet (or any reptile friendly carpet in general). My beardies love to spend time hanging there - which was kind of random discovery :) Nice video!
A tip you should make is just straight separation anxiety or how to make them not feel alone when you're gone, etc. My beardy has a very hard time with that
My bearded dragon glass surfs only when there's poop in the terrarium. If I'm in another room I know when he's pooped because he'll run up and slam his front claws into the sliding plexiglass doors which makes a loud banging noise. He stops immediately after I clean up the poop. I guess he just really doesn't like a dirty terrarium. If he wants out he'll come straight up to the glass press his nose to the glass lightly but not scratch at it and stare at me intensely until I pick him up.
Summary 1. Reflections Can be fixed by putting something in or outside cage 2. Hungry Might scratch glass for food so feed them 3. Curiosity Wants to spend time with you and get a change of scenery. Take them out for 15 minutes 4. Parasite/Sick Take dragon to vet!
I’m laying here watching this with my dragon on my chest just like yours wondering if she’s okay lol. But after watching this I’m sure she just seen her reflection or is still adjusting to her new home.
My dragon surfs every morning at 8. I’ve been getting migraines from him surfing. He has a huge beautiful tank with a background. With his basking rock and a hammock his logs why does he hate me
I think it’s so cute. But I feel bad because I don’t know if he’s hungry, if you want out, or what. But I know it’s not the cage size, because his cage is big AF
Young Princess it’s cute at first but then the log bangs against the glass, and whenever I walk in the room he does it, so I I think he’s just excited to see me and wants out lol
Thank you so much for this video!! I solved the problem with her reflexion by taping cut up duo-tangs inside her enclosure up to her eyeballs lol She's calm as a rock today and so are we!
I have a baby dragon I've had him for 2 weeks and today I noticed him going underneath in a shaded area laying up flat against the wall today.ive put some food under there and hes eating it.i fed him parsnips. Is the hiding normal it's the first time hes done it
You bring up some very good points... also in addition if you own multiple dragons and multiple species of them such as I do it's possible your beardie could be seeing another dragon in another enclosure and black bearding and stressing out. Almost the same thing as his own reflection as you had mentioned.. I have a 4 inch strip of aquarium backing on mine and one of my dragons would climb up to his basking spot which was above this and head Bob and Blackbeard at the other ones LOL Once his basking area was moved to the other side things were fine.
Mine keeps doing this and he typically refuses to eat any greens or salad etc. only veggies he eats since I got him was yellow peppers, baby tomatoes, and a piece of raspberry
I’ve covered the sides because of him attacking his reflection but he’s attacked the front to so how can I stop that? I can’t just cover the front too and not be able to see anything so I’m at a loss. He has an awesome terrarium.
It sounds like your bearded dragon is an attention seeker! Spend more time with him letting him run around your room and whatnot. Eventually they grow out of this, because they get older!
I have a tank that opens from the side so I took the glass out because she loves exploring and when she wants heat or uv light she go's back in by her self she's really independent but I always feed her in the tank but she gets lonely so she always gets in my bed and sleeps on my arm I couldn't ask for a better dragon the end
So I just got a couple of juvenile dragons. One is doing great. The other has been lazy. Always sleepy. Doesn't seem right. Must not feel good. Now he don't wanna eat. I'm gonna reasearch some more. Dry the baths. Man I got them the full 9 yards. Tho. Hope this little fella gets better. I might just have to carry him to vet. I just think I'd prolly be able to learn more and do more than a vet around me.
Thanks. My dragon is 10mths old. I got him from petco when he was 6mths old. His one eye was a little weird when I got him. Because they would just put 30 crickets in his tarium in till he ate them. Well long story short. I woke up today and his eye was super red. So I immediately put neosporin on his eyelid. It got way better after an hour. I was freaking out. Because of coronavirus vets are closed around here. Also he hasnt been eating well for a week. I did start giving him a bath yesterday. Do you recomend a warm bath?
My question for my wife because shes highly concerned about his tail is does it hurt them? Cause when he glass surfs he literally stands on his tail and surfs with all 4 legs like a psychopath.
I recently bought 2 bearded babies for my 8 year old son and my 69 year old mom. Pillow and Muppet. Almost 3 weeks now. They are doing absolutely great and I love them. I have the joy of doing everything for them, they just claim them. Lol. Anyhow, at night when I turn on their night light for the evening, muppet stands up in the corner and sleeps. Every night! Not always the same corner, but for sure every night. Pillow, sleeps on the area where the heat pad is stuck under the tank. But not muppet. And he'll stay there until I feed em breakfast and turn on the heat light. Is this normal? Is there something he's looking for? I bought a hammock type thing, put in the corner, but they don't use it.
I have them with a heat lamp. I said in the post they have a heat lamp and whatever the light is that you turn on for them at night. The heat pad came with the aquarium kit I purchased. I have now turned an old China cabinet into their home and they are still together. The male I have has a bone disease and doesn't get around very well at all. They are in our living room and I have not seen them be aggressive towards each other. Not during feeding, basking, or at any other time. The female actually lays on top of the male, while basking, because she's so much smaller. My female once I transfered them to the new enclosure, burrows in the moss and wood chips at night and comes out every morning to bask. She had a bad experience with our cat jumping into her aquarium, I think it may have traumatized her and stunted her growth. They get quite a bit of attention because of pillows disability, and Muppets stunted growth. I do physical therapy with my male hoping he'll get his mobility back. I appreciate the concern though.
@@rheganreas4904 ...but do they have a UV light? That's not the same as a heat lamp and lack of UV can cause bone problems. Also, the female laying on him is her showing dominance. Adult beardies do not cuddle. Please get some advice from your local reptile expert or vet if you need more information on that. Also, are you adding calcium powder to their food? That can also contribute to bone disease. beardeddragontank.com/how-long-can-bearded-dragons-live-without-uv-light

Getting close! Viewership and subs have kind of ceased the past few days lets hope this weekend will be better!
What color paper is best for the outside? Or can u paint the outside black?
Mine keeps doing this and he typically refuses to eat any greens or salad etc. only veggies he eats since I got him was yellow peppers, baby tomatoes, and a piece of raspberry
same mine will only eat carrots, apples and sometimes grapes
What if they don't stop scratching glass after you've given them food?
This really helped.

heat pads are not ideal for beardies, they dont absorb heat through their stomachs
Also, you are going to have to house them separately. Beardies are territorial and will hurt each other.
