This is just speculation, but I think it's likely that Sony may have also influenced the shift in the later games to a more conventional (COD) style of game design too.
If you can sign to online there is update where you can change settings to make controls better I played the game recently but I don't remember it's called high precision maybe anyway great video brings so much nostalgia back then games were made from heart not cash grab or with political agenda.
Back when these games came out I just wasn't sold on yet another military shooter when I was already invested in several. Another thing is the commerical didn't really do it any favors since it didn't really tell me why I needed to put the other shooters down and start playing THIS one instead. Lastly, I was playing battlefield multiplayer every day, and I didn't know anybody who was leaving BF to go play Killzone.
I think the marketing pit it against COD, Battlefield and Halo witch was a mistake. It was a saturated market and on the surface it did look like just another military shooter, albeit a very pretty one.
They should make a remaster of at least the multi-player component....make it free to play and just sell some skins...I'd never buy any but I'm sure alot of people would

@aver2070 aver2070 yup, that’s why I would play tac when needed. Usually I’d just use the shotgun and run around rushing ppl, then pulling off crazy kills with the pistol. If I really wanted to get nasty, I’d use the saboteur’s 2 hit killer 😂… aww man ppl hated that.. then I realized how easy it was to use the m82, just don’t aim, move left and right, and crouch the get better accuracy for hip fire… 😭😭 doing all that felt so good and I feel like that’s what set this game apart. The spawns were worse at one point, they didn’t even give the players armor once they spawn from a tac beacon… those days were brutal for the team gettin spanked. I don’t think they truly ever had a real answer for how they could’ve improved the spawns…

Back than those weren't problems lol motion added to its background in my eyes wiht how much it was presenting in those times that is normal the engatives of that game in 2009 were tiny than what it can be sat next to today, and yk the whole weapons thing idk maybe they could have added some scopes or whatever
@@goukigod killzone 1 got a pass for being a completely new game, killzone 2 looks and plays like mud but is the best in the series, by the time killzone 3 was being made I think they knew it was done for because of call of duty. If you can sign to online there is update where you can change settings to make controls better I played the game recently but I don't remember it's called high precision maybe anyway great video brings so much nostalgia back then games were made from heart not cash grab or with political agenda.
That's a really great tip and something, that in hindsight, I should have talked about.
There is the KZ1 ps3 version ?
Yes. It got a HD version of the PS2 game
I had the best experience in this game I really missed it ... thats my huge reason why i didnt bought ps5...
I will never play Horizon i hate it
Until i play KZ multiplayer again❤
Certain titles don't need a remasters, Killzone 2 is a fine example of games what stand the test of time, it's not just a visual show piece
Nah, it 100% needs a remaster. The framerate alone warrants it. Removal of the motion control gimmicks would also be nice.
They should make a remaster of at least the multi-player component....make it free to play and just sell some skins...I'd never buy any but I'm sure alot of people would
I think if they were going to remaster it, it would probably be the other way around and be campaign only. I think you can still play the MP if you connect to the PSONE fan servers. I'd love to see the MP properly resurrected though.
@goukigod oh I know...but the memories of playing a multi-player session where one game had all game modes and they would last like 2 hours .... me and my friends playing all night .... fun times ...but I'd play the camping remastered again for sure .
l would buy remaster for ps 5 even if was double price come on sony make one
An Iconic PS3 Masterpiece? After the last level with Radec...more like ironic masterpiece sheesh. But the gunplay is just perfect.
Killzone 2 is the best fps game on a PlayStation system, in my opinion.
It's definitely my pick for the best exclusive FPS.
@@goukigod I agree.
Killzone, Killzone: Liberation, Killzone 2, Killzone 3 >>> Killzone: Mercenary & Shadow Fall
If Sony actually care about the franchise, they release their much older title onto other platforms so they can find new life. Especially with gamer want to play retro games.
I dont want a remake of this, just a remaster for modern pcs, or even if it was exclusive to ps5.. i dont care, just want to play it again, I mean, I can.. right now, dust off my ps3 slim and find my copy? somewhere..?
💯
killzone 2 was one best games l ever played and multiplayer just amazing even to this day l play killzone 2 ,killzone3 very good game with stunning graphics and game play, l do think killzone shadow fall was big let down it did have amazing graphics thats all it had, it was too modern too clean you didt feel like you was in war completely different from killzone2/3 so sony has now end killzone because poor sales of shadow fall come on sony make another killzone base on killzone2/3 for the players not just for profit
I know that sales back then weren’t spectacular but you’d have to imagine there’s a gap in the market right now for a far future gritty FPS. At least enough for a remaster of KZ2 and KZ3.
@@goukigod your very right goukigod there is big gap in market for FPS l think its been very poor even for ps4 as for ps5 l see little change
I loved the game but dear lord was the aiming "heavy", so to say. It was fine, but the final boss, Col Radec was a pain.
Yeah he’s pretty cheap. You can cheese him quite easily with the sniper rifle though. Just wait for him to teleport behind you and spin around and hip fire at point blank.
psone comunity is bring the online back woo
Whooooo. Yeah it's live now!
you just got a sub
You can also play it on ps5 thru PlayStation now
Yes this is true although this is via streaming yes?
Yes but it plays really well depending on your speeds of course great video by the way
Noones gunna go and play Flower.
They're missing out!
@@goukigod they definitely are, I play it when I have anxiety and I played it ten years ago when I got bullied as a teen
the comparison between killzone 1 and killzone 2 is bad, killzone 1 was really god on graphics for a ps2
Why do you sound like the guy from getting over it
If I knew what that was I might be able to tell you.
I was a MONSTER in this game
Destroyed many players and was in top 100 on 2 of my accounts lol
xxITS-RADECxx
Helghast-Kill666 if you ran into me chances are I gave you hell lol
It’s such a shame this game didn’t get remastered because I never felt the satisfaction in other shooters that KZ2 gave me… there was nothing like that hip fire
Definitely seems like it was ahead of its time in regards to the multiplayer. If I had to draw a modern comparison I'd actually say it shared a lot in common with team shooter like overwatch in terms of team composition.
amazing game...
Incredible game!
@@goukigod You know I played it as a Teenager... and i recently got a Ps3 because im collecting Systems 🤘and I thought Man how good was Killzone 2...You know the feeling and the Graphics are still holding up so well and the ragdoll of the enemies... just pure fun and not like the most garbage of today Games... back in the days the games were finished... btw great video man!!!
Lies Playstation 8 had killzone remaster collection. 😅.

Jk people. Y'all take things to serious. Good for you
I really enjoyed Killzone 2 when it came out and still think its the best campaign of the series - even if 3 improves the colour palette overall...
Also loved the Resistance trilogy too...
3 is an excellent game too, although quite different. I think it has superior level design, better controls and improved character models. It wasn’t as grimy though and it’s technically a downgrade in some areas, such as a lack of dynamic shadows.
I could never get into resistance. It always felt a bit cartoony and seemed dated compared to other games of the time.
killzone 2 actually has a pretty good palette its just the filter and overpowered motion blur/depth of field that make it look the way it does, on the emulator there's a fix for that
Interesting
I wish the controls weren't shit so a remaster would be good
Fucking nice review :)
FUCK!
Fuck yeah! Thanks.
Sony got all woke and gave up on killzone
Killzone is definitely a product of bygone era. The macho brofest no longer exists. I never thought I'd miss it but I do.
Killzone 2 is kinda rough, ngl.
Only one weapon at a time, insane weapon spread, motion blur, and insane fov are the biggest negatives for me.
It's not a bad game or anything, but could definitely use a push to modern technology to smooth things out... and let me have two weapons, seriously lol.
Back than those weren't problems lol motion added to its background in my eyes wiht how much it was presenting in those times that is normal the engatives of that game in 2009 were tiny than what it can be sat next to today, and yk the whole weapons thing idk maybe they could have added some scopes or whatever
Killzone sucks. Just play Halo. You'll have more fun and the controller actually feels good.
🤔
@@goukigod killzone 1 got a pass for being a completely new game, killzone 2 looks and plays like mud but is the best in the series, by the time killzone 3 was being made I think they knew it was done for because of call of duty. And it shows
Killzone could have been great, I think the concepts are great and the universe they created had and still has lots to like.
The video is titled "review" so people are looking to see if the game is worth buying. Many games do it better for cheaper if you don't own the game already.
If you are stuck with a PS3 still and want a shooter find something based solely on single player shooting or co-op because any online game probably won't have servers. I just don't think killzone is the right way to go. For PlayStation.
@@goukigod sorry for the rude bluntness of my original comment. usually people never reply so I figured I'd just keep it short.
But seriously just play Halo. Especially halo 2. best game. Halo2 best halo, halo 2 > killzone. Play halo.
Fuck 343.
Hard disagree. Also, I can't stand Halo's squeaky clean aesthetic. Killzone 2 and 3 have this visceral grimdark setting that no other game had at the time.
I perfer killzone, killzone 3, killzone mercenaries had amazing multiplayer and I love the war esthetic
