The tech on these bikes is incredible - particularly the way it automatically blurs the speedo when you push it 🤣
Hahahahaha
Also when you ride it, at speed.
It's a BITCH move.
Thanks for another fun review. I’ve been a sport-bike guy for decades but have to admit that due to aging, for long rides my GS now gets the nod. Thanks again.
your original video played a big part in my decision to purchase one of these and there's not been a single moment I've regretted it. I can wake up with a smile knowing I get to ride this beautiful machine. thank you mate
Glad I could help!
Nice one for keeping the content coming for us come rain or shine summer or winter. It's a decent consolation for those of us who rarely get to ride during winter but still want to enjoy the hobby from your POV.
The beemers are gorgeous 👌
Thanks - appreciate that!
Fantastic Andy, I rode one 5 yrs ago (older model) and couldn't believe a bike with such a mental top end, could pull top gear at hardly any revs. Magnificent.
Yes it is a very easy bike to ride....amazing beast
Watching this from Canada, i am amazed, amused and envious watching someone ride in the middle of January.
Hey Kids!! Thanks for bringing that intro back. Beautiful bike, great edit, love the mix of transitions/walk around/helmet vlog view. And great review. I’ve got a 2022 single R version over here in 🇨🇦 Honestly, forget that StreetFighter, add this into the stable Andy. Buy it out! 🔝🎬🎥🆒🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Cheers Mike! Glad you like the format and thanks for stoppinng by!
I’ve just brought one of these, picking it up next weekend.
Literally can’t wait, amazing machine 😍
Congratulations Simon!
“A sports bike for us old geezers” sounds great, where do I sign!😂 Nice review, thanks.👍
Thanks for the review! Can't wait for the coming thoughts after you've had her for a while.
Stay tuned Mike!
Gorgeous Bike, Lovely roads. Great First ride review, looking forwards to the long term review of this machine.
Good stuff, when my monster was getting serviced I took a panagale out for a test ride for 1hr, wrists, balls & back torture, couldn’t wait to get my 1200s back.after it, though it did handle amazing!
That is a beautiful motorcycle! I look forward to your next review. Best!
I absolutely adore mine. I’m 6ft 17st and it’s so comfortable the way it changes direction is like it’s telepathic it just does exactly what you want. The tech fest is brilliant you have so much info and input. The sat nav will allow you to choose what type of route you want ie fastest/shortest or My favourite winding roads. It records your route and will save your favourite roads so you can find them again. The media screen is really good it shows you what songs your listening with the album pics and you can scroll through your playlists on the move. Again the same with phone calls. I could go on there’s so much more. The bits I’m not so keen on are the mirrors do vibe a good bit neutral is tricky to find it’s a bit quiet but we all no why
a little point to add and would love to hear your input but the album art and other (enhanced) media functions don't work unless you have an iPhone. media still plays and you can skip forward and back from the playback screen but no playlists or anything like that
Thank you for posting. I was in the market for a sport bike in 2020. Looked at the Panigale V2 and the S1000RR. Opted for the RR. It is a kitten when you want it to be, and it can be a tiger when you want it to be. BMW did a great job with it.
I agree - awesome bike!
Amazing review, I am definitely dreaming about this bike!
Really enjoying the new format (ride/cutaway to walkaround points). 👍🏼
Good to hear!
Great vid! I've got a new S1000R Sport on order and I found that to be a little more sensible than the RR. I wanted a bit more comfort but to be fair, compared to other sportsbikes the RR was quite nice.
Enjoy the bike Matt!
Great review, looking forward to more content on this machine. A really premium sports bike I am very impressed by BMW’s entry, not for me though, far beyond my means! As a side note, my two children gave a round of applause as this was the first video they heard the return of “hey kids”, it was a talking point in our house last year with the “hey folks”.
That's brilliant!! Say hi to the kids from me!
@@TheMissendenFlyer Yes! And don’t forget to review the spec… in the usual way!
Excellent review, looking forward to more videos on this amazing motorcycle!
More to come!
What an absolute beauty you very lucky man I am green with envy right now Nice one look forward to more : )
Excellent review! Thank you!
Thank you for watching!
Glad to hear, hey kids is back :)
Such an awesome bike, love it, will be interested in the long term test when you do it, great review fella
Thank you Steve - stay tuned!
Great review. Sure is a nice looking bike for sure. My wife hates the look of my 2020 GSA HP 1250, but loves the look of this piece of kit.
It's a lovely looking bike good review as a road bike and not thundering around a track, I never owned a sports bike because like speed and my licence would have been burned within a month, I'm same now as I was 40 years ago, 😂😂😂 would like it in my stable though. Enjoy 👍
Self control and u be good 😄
Good first look video TMF. That is a nice looking bike
Looks fast standing still. Total weapon 🤘🤘
Great review as usual
Glad you enjoyed it
Great review! Stunning looking bike! Greetings from Holland.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for a great review, as always i would say.👌
You are saying that it has rather upright ridning position, that sound great. However for the next review of this bike could you please show us how the ridning position looks from the side when your on it? It would give a nice feel just to see which angle your back and knees are in.
Many thanks from Sweden.
Yep I show you the riding position in my in depth review coming soon....
An amazingly beautiful bike! I to think that the BMW TFTs screens are the best, so clear to read and navigate
Agreed!
Happy new year to yourself and your better half Mr Flyer! Awesome to see you reviewing the new model. I’ve got a 16 plate S1K and love it, I have pondered upgrading to the new model but came to the conclusion I love my S1K bike and other than looks there isn’t a reason for me to upgrade. I’m looking forward to seeing you produce more content on the bike. P.S. the models with the black paint scheme are the fastest! 😀
Black is always fastest! More videos to come....stay tuned!
Fantastic looking bike, great first look at it Andy 👍👏👏👏👏
Thanks 👍
Excellent review as usual. The RR is a great bike for sure. I've never owned one, but when I factor in maintenance, reliability, durability, etc., the R1 still wins with me. I always saw more R1s at the track too, and the guys with the RRs always seemed to be the ones with new leathers and extra tires (hint hint wink wink), though it was never surprising to see them near the top of the time sheets. Just my opinion, though. And +1 on BMW and the TFTs.
I love the R1M and was set on getting one but the ergonomics sadly don’t work for me, it’s just too small and cramped. I ride an S1K which is the perfect bike for me.
R1 better reliability yes but not better maintenance, the S1000RR has 18000 miles engine service intervals, 10000 miles oil service intervals.
And a Brock performance 215whp S1000RR does the quarter mile in 8.72 seconds (which is the world record).
I’m a ADV rider. I ride a R 1200 GSA. But I’m definitely gonna have to test ride one of these. I have a need for speed! This one seems perfect. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nice bike!! And it has a key Andy!!! A premium bike that’s Not keyless!! Love it!
Yes I like that too!
Lovely looking machine.
Good review 👍
Good looking bike sound's and looks great..nice paint job.it will take some beating ,good review. 😎
Very nice review. Thank you. Cheers!
Thanks for watching!
You mentioned how full of 'tech' the bike is and for those that care about this sort of thing, these expensive items also caught my eye about the machine:
•New 2-ring forged piston 12 g lighter, adapted combustion chamber and compression increased to 13.5. In addition, slimmer and lighter rocker arms.
•Titanium valves, on the exhaust side with new spring assembly, slimmer, and 6 % lighter rocker arms and optimized camshafts.
•Light, compact engine block with longer and 85 g lighter titanium connecting rods from Pankl for reduced friction power and less weight.
That is the M1000RR specs, not the S1000RR M Package.
Check your facts before posting.
Great video again! Thank you!
My pleasure!
Great review.. looks amazing :)
Sure does…
Usual thorough review.
Almost forty years ago my first bike was a small sports bike. Over the years I have owned different types of bikes but my all-time favorite was a Honda CBR. Two years ago, despite my age, I got to ride a friend's BMW S1000RR and I thought my God this bike is light years ahead of that much older Honda. I loved the bike - not necessarily the price he paid for it. I thought if I was 15 years younger - and little more flexible I would buy the BMW. It really impressed me both in looks, handling, and sheer fun!
I have a 2020 S1000RR M Package and I'm 60.
You lucky bugger Andy! Me, jealous? Hah! One hell of a machine, no denying that. Have ridden the standard version and the performance was incredible. Comfort level was pretty good for about an hour and then the wrist's started to feel it. Getting older I reckon. I believe I will stay with my fjr1300 for the comfort. Beautiful bike, great review as usual brother.
Thanks for watching Andrew....appreciate the kind comments
It's a fantastic bike from what you and other people have said but i wish the exhaust system was hidden abit more or a under slung exhaust would look better like on a Ducati. Great review as always 👍
The riding is the best part of ownership of the K67. I love riding mine as it’s so flattering and roomy for a slightly taller rider. The build quality is a bit haphazard, with a few recalls on some batches as recently as December ‘21. My bike was on the workshop for 3.5 weeks in November last year getting things fixed.
Ben you make a good point about the physical dimensions. 👍
@@maxflight777 He also makes a good point about dubious reliability.
What was the December 21 recall?
What was the recalls. Mine hasn’t had any?
subscribed! i am waiting on my 2022 at the moment. would like to see more 2022 content!
Stay tuned - more to come! ...and thanks for the sub!
Excellent review 👍👍
Glad you liked it
Looking forward to hearing more from you on this machine. Will compare it to Chopsy's perspective.
Looks the dogs nuts … great review 🤙
Thanks 👍
Awesome bike. Good review mate 👌👌
Thanks for watching!
5.01, mirror, roll off, cover the front brake. One day it will save your life. Even if the driver of the vehicle at the junction is looking your way, you can't assume they won't pull out.
Great looking machine but as someone who is doing their CBT this weekend and are just starting Motorcycling I don’t think it’s for me. Great video Andy and a happy 2022
Have fun on the CBT - all the best!
Still got my red 2015 sports pack RR. Still love it and its eccentric headlights....Thanks for another great review. Sorry to hear about the Interceptor-- Infuriating chicanery.
Great review, great bike 🏍
Glad you enjoyed it - thanks for watching
Good first review tmf lovely bmw thanks from danny
Great rewiew as allways!!👍👍
I appreciate that
@@TheMissendenFlyer You're welcome!
"Sports bike for us old geezers!!" Love it!
another cracking review TMF
Enjoyed your first review on the S1000RR, look forward to you having the bike for a month's worth of summing up, pity it isn't a summer loan when you may have done a longer run to the coast maybe, it will be interesting to see if your shoulder gives you a problem with a longer stint in the saddle. Having done sports bikes in my younger days, and thoroughly enjoyed them, and I have to say if I was a little younger I would be tempted by the bikes easy going manner for such a ballistic missile, and as you say for what you get compared to my 1250 GS ADV it represents good value, when you think the Fireblade is well over 20k. But you must stop putting yourself down I consider you an excellent rider. Thank you.
Well that's very kind of you to say Stephen - if only I could agree!
Excellent bike. Can't go wrong getting one if thats your scene.Thanks.
I like the format too and I'd love one of these.
Only one thing as a long time viewer, for the brake check, can you give a comparison to other bikes in terms of how sharp they feel vs pressure applied and how much feel they have? As a man who's ridden lots of bikes, you're well qualified.
Good idea Alan, I’ll try and do that from now on!
I’m genuinely impressed at how easy this bike seems to ride at normal speeds. You’d hardly think the machine was capable of the blistering performance you see on other channels watching how well behaved it is here. Lovely vid 👍🏻
Thank you!
Morning, nice review but you fail to to mention the faulty display screen. When you accelerated hard it blurred, definite fault there methinks 😜
Very nice sports motorbike Mr Flyer. I wonder if all sports motorbike are model as the same. Has the Honda cbr500r sports motorbike likes the same from the front or its that me. Anyway thanks for the review look forward to seeing more.
After riding an S1000RR at the California Superbike School, I purchased a 2021 M Sport package. What an incredible machine! The technology allows me to do track days with confidence - definitely makes me feel safe.
Jim, I'm 57. My heart says this bike, but my neck and back say Ducati Streetfighter V4. Do you find this comfortable? I sat on one, didn't feel much different from the 2004 GSXR 1000, fun, not comfortable. Thanks
@@CNote1906 I’m 61 and it’s definitely not comfortable for an all day ride. I’ve been out for 3 hours and was ready to get off of it. But, the thrill of it is worth it. And, besides, track sessions are only 20 minutes. I did switch the bars to a set of Helibars which are 1” taller - a big improvement. If this were my only bike, I would choose the Streetfighter. But, I bought this bike specifically for track use.
@@jh91160 THANKS SO MUCH
Nice real world review. Interesting that you & Chops found it all day comfortable & you're very different sized guys. Looks like BMW have cracked it although I wonder if because of it's well rounded Germaness (not a word but you know what I mean), it maybe isn't as sexy as some of its competitors even if it's a better all-round package.
Yes it is incredible that isn't it - me and chopsy really are different sized fellas!
Happy new year Mr flyer 😉
And to you!
Great video 👍 great bike 👍
Thanks! 👍
Such a beautiful bike
Great review as always.
Maybe some further information that might help other viewers, the price of that bike as tested.
Just something the car world tend to put in the reviews.
Noted!
Great review and what an absolute stonker of a bike!!!
It sure is!
Thank you for the review! It is astonishing how light it is. If only BMW could shave some kgs from the R series (RS) it would be a better trade off vs more torque and HP for the next iteratiion.
I also love the torque. What i did and dropped 19kg with 4 expensive changes.
1. Carbon rims 6kg
2. Titanium trellis for rider/pillion. 5KG
3. Titanium exhaust header/exhaust and K&N air filter. Lost all the unnecessary engine spoiler and muffler cover.
4. Double stand is gone.
You can lose some more kg if you change the steering system/fuel tank/ battery/ water cooler. Probably, you can shed another 6kg.
To improve performance across the specs .... Power Commander + Air Filter + Torq Clutch.
What a beauty!
Another good one! "Buttonage"? Where's my 2022 dictionary? I knew this bike would do well. I have heard about the previous years' model. I think it might frighten me to death!
Great review as usual. I haven't been keeping up - how is Mrs Missenden coming along, I think she was learning to ride?
Yes good Steve =- bit less riding this time of year but getting keener each time we go out - will be an update in due course!
@ 1:56 So you get a standard seat plus the additional M seat?
The seat is like a plank compared to previous models (2015).
There are three seat options, 1/2 inch approx. above and below standard (expensive to buy afterward).
@ 7:52 There's an adjustable link to raise/lower the bike on the rear suspension. Two set screws and a 3mm thick spanner, with engine jacked up.
I sometimes start off in second gear on my 2020 model and am hitting 120mph plus before changing gear.
Another thing is the vibration through the handlebars, on my 2015 add 2020 bikes your hands go numb especially on low milage bikes.
Heavier bar ends help damp vibration.
@ 13:35 Over 200hp at the crankshaft, not the back wheel. Big difference.
The M sport paint is £400 extra.
Mine had its cylinder head replaced as a "quality enhancement" (read, factory recall), potential valve coating problem.
Lithium battery gave problems, wouldn't start all weekend dealer collected it............it started.
Eventually, a warning showed "Engine management fault", traced to battery.
No problems since.
Edit:
My bike has failed to start numerous times.
Last march they had it for 2 weeks and did a software update.
April 1st it wouldn't start, got it back 8th of April, 6 hours later it wouldn't start.
Now the 8th of May they still have it.
Looking for a refund but being ignored by BMW dealer.
Great vid 👌🏻

Fantastic Bike…..if only you could open up that M package capability on the road….nice review…BMW quality at its best!!!!!
The S1000RR seems to have taken on the old Fireblade mantle of best all round sports bike. Haven't ridden one for a few years now, must try one again. This M Sport (nearly typed People) looks brilliant. Looking forward to the In Depth feature.
Yes I agree!
Andy, It really shows you plan out how you want to present the video. By mixing the riding and parking lot scenes keeps the viewers attention. Instead of one long talking portion.
That’s my general idea yes…!
Yes, breaking up the vid is good. Mind you can’t imagine getting bored with a TMF vlog!!
Not a sports bike fan but I have to say that is one Stunning looking bike.
isn't it just....
Thanks Andy for another great/informative review. Interested to hear more about the comparison with the GSXR1000R as far as comfort and value. Here in the US, the price difference is significant +/-$3,000. Cheers
Doens´t even compare the two of them, the s1000rr are vastly superior in everything not only technology but speed and power too.
@@thormenucci 199 bhp vs 204 bhp not exactly world's apart
Nice looking bike, its got one of those dodgy TFT's that goes blurry though when you go between 60 and 70.
Great review thanks TMF. Stunning looking bike. If I were ever to move away from adventure bikes this would be top of the list. The question then is do you get a BMW for good looks and practicality or a Ducati for sublime looks and the Italian passion ? Hmmmm….
That is indeed the question John! I have a video on that very question coming soon!
Lovely looking bike, and love the 'at last, a sports bike for us old geezers'. But was very pleasantly surprised at the cost. After seeing, and hearing it all, was expecting it to be nearer the £18,000/£19,000 for the basic. Look forward to the practicality video.
Coming soon Gary! Stay tuned…

Great bike great review as usual. I would love you to do a review of the m endurance chain witch is something I thought comes with the m sport pack it is supposed to be a completely maintenance free chain witch would be a complete game changer yet I can't find hardly anything about it online or on UA-cam
Not sure I believe thats true do you?
@@TheMissendenFlyer but I want it to be lol
it's definitely not 0 maintenance unfortunately. it's like when manufacturers say lifetime warranty but they mean it works for the lifetime of the part which is only a few years 🤣🤣 just one of those claims that marketing came up with not engineering
My nephew was looking for a bike to replace his 2017 Fireblade, which as his only bike had to be a do it all bike including a sixty mile commute five days a week, he first of tested the 1000RR-R blade but had it back at the dealers within an hour as he described it as a "torture implement" ,he eventually narrowed it down to the GSX-R1000 and the S1000RR and said it was a toss up between the two as both were really comfortable and excellent commuters but believe it or not what swung him to the BMW was its lovely TFT screen, he's so pleased with it he reckons it's a better all rounder than all the blades he's owned which IMO is some recommendation.
Indeed - and I agree with him!
Another great review Andy. Never understand why BMW don't fit a radiator and cooler guard as standard.
When BMW first brought this bike out , it had a greenish color I think they called "acid"with the asymmetrical headlights ,I thought it was the best looking sportbike I'd ever seen.
I think it's a nice bike however the stock USA version has a flat spot in power from approx 6k to 8k. Many over here flash the bike to fix this issue. I road both 22 Ducati StreetFighter v4s and the Pannigale V4s. They were a more visceral riding experience. Always enjoy your channel keep up the great work.
Cheers - willco!
Saving up for one of these
Good plan!
