The school kids were so lucky that you took the time and energy to share these treasures along with their context in history. What a wonderful resource of educational material.
What a cornucopia of delights !! Thanks for sharing all your finds every little find means something for all the hard work you put in . Keep up the good work !!
Just starting the vid Si..I know you're finds are Top Pocket mate! Awesome new merch and I got bit in the finger too lol..a baby black squirrel got me 💚🍀👏🐿️
Grew up in an old home in Virginia with a friendly ghost named Miss Maud. She rocked chairs, shut doors, and moved her personnel objects around when no wind. W e were never afraid of her and considered her a member of the family.
My favourite thing to do; looking through old finds that other's have made ..... and mine too! You get some different vibes from some items, some happy or sad, and very occasionally creepy! 🥰🥰🥰🥰 It's wonderful your share your collection of finds and their stories with us, Si. Stories are so important in our history, Thank you, and Blessed be Si. 🙏🙏🙏🥰🥰🥰
Great to see the past finds Si, we do the same with all our past finds, (running out of space to keep them now, lol ) Jacky and myself definitely up for a meet up. You have more boxes to do another live with, bonus!
I enjoyed this video of you rummaging through your old finds and would definitely watch more in the future! UA-cam randomly put one of your videos on my home screen during the first few weeks of the covid lockdown in March 2020 and I have been hooked ever since. Thank you! Brooke from Los Angeles, CA.
Sunday video/ live stream from Si makes a great start to the day. So interesting to see your past finds. Nicola did a video as she was organizing one of her drawers in her studio. It was really interesting to see her finds and how she organized everything or didn't lol! I think the meet up would be so much fun. I live in Washington state in the US and could not come. So jealous of people who live in the UK or are able to travel that far. I'd invite you here. I don't know about there being much mudlarking, but we have tons of beaches for metal detecting. I live about an hour from the ocean. We go often, even just for the day, beautiful scenery and great food. If you like clams, you could try a local specialty the geoduck, it's a type of clam. You should look it up. Thanks for sharing. Your cats are so cute. My sister has 2 cats, Ollie and Kieran.
That was an awesome day Si! I could do that all day! my sisters and I like to re-visit our treasures too. I have a few boxes filled with bits, bobs, odds and sods that I refuse to part with. Seems like when I do throw something mildly useful out, someone needs it the next week!! The history is way-cool. Thank you for sharing your time, and your collection. 👍🤟🪡🎨
I think all your treasure boxes are a wonderful way to see what the river Thames has to offer, so please show more. I would love to come to the meet up, but only next year, so if you arrange a similar kind of meet up then, I'm in. Have a good and happy week Si! Hugs! xx
Great stream/video, Si. It's always fun rediscovering finds and reliving memories. Thank you for taking the time! Oh, I'm all the way in Spokane, WA USA. Have a great day!
Hi Si. At 1.07.50 the brass tweezer things are for taking eggs out of birds nests! (in the past bad days of egg collecting)!! Stop your smell tainting the nest! Cheers, John.
Queen Vic' is looking fabulous as always!! I really enjoyed this and yes would love to see more treasures. And the fur babies too. I love it all xx Teresa ❤🇦🇺
A good time going through your finds Si, thanks again. On occasion these are a lot of fun to hear your stories with them. That is about the size of axe in my spoon carving kit, great find there!
Hello, master mud brother! I am a shameless rookie mudlark, only 2 years in the muck. This River is nothing short of majestic. I pour over my little boxes of humble finds, and it makes me smile, here in Cleveland Ohio. I got loads of your merch😅 My two favorite ones are the Bethlehem spark plug design, and the poison bottle design. I cherish these shirts. Also: you are an honored member of The Society. There is a new member, now in your company. She is dear to me,I handed her a first edition copy of “All the Best Rubbish”,by Ivor Noel Hume. How exiting, that world that you special permit holders exist in,I thrill at the notion. Perhaps we shall meet one day,Simon,I won’t be back until 2025,let’s hope WW3 doesn’t happen before that!!!!
Si, I really enjoyed this video format! It is interesting to see your finds up close and hear the history and the stories! I always wonder what you mudlarkers do with your finds…how you store or display your treasures! I am excited to hear that you will be doing some of this in your “Man Cave”! I have dug and searched Ghost towns and old mining camps here in Colorado but we just don’t have the history that the Thames does! Thanks for the many adventures you have taken us all on and here’s to all the future Mudventures!!!
I would like to tell of an experince that I had,on the afternoon of September 27th,2023. I was on one of those uberboat piers, waiting for one,it was the one in front of Tate gallery. Across the River, over on the north foreshore,I saw a woman. She didn’t move. She was almost laying down, focused on a tiny spot on the foreshore. I missed multiple uberboat boardings,I was fascinated by this person across the River Thames. Literally, she was in the same spot, for at least a half hour,I marveled at her dedication to that little cosmic spot that she was exploring. I witnessed a level of mud dedication unparalleled. I wonder what she found.
I've recently been going through some of my mudlarking finds and stumbled on a George III Farthing that I didn't know I had found, I had picked it up for my charity box thinking it was an old modern 1p but when I was sorting through the box there it was! I tend to prioritise finds according to what they are, if they are special or interesting these will come out of the mudlarking finds box first to be cleaned and examined put on Instagram etc and will remain separate from the rest of the finds which will all be cleaned and placed into a sorting box for later, these cleaned finds sorting boxes are the ones that I have recently been going through and of which some of the finds have now been returned to the Thames for other mudlarks to find 🙂
Enjoying you re-finding your finds. I like having a scratch through my bits and bobs from time to time but I don't have anything like your collection!. It is enviable!! I'd watch more, though I can't believe a lot of your cool finds you just pop back in the box. You need to open a museum! 😁 Keep us posted on your beach detecting idea. I'd love to join you again maybe with one of your collab pals?? Might not be able to make the end of November but if your plan comes off I'll try my best!! 👍💖 PS your mystery crinkly metal X thing, I have seen such designs on Regency mirrors. Oval mirrors with a box at the top with a crossed ribbon in the east, west and south positions.
Hi Si. I'm interested in joining you guys on the south coast. I live in London but will have to sort out accommodation but it would all be worth it. I won't set my heart on it in case it gets cancelled so no worries. 👍🏻
I found a bone object on the foreshore that looks like a little carved Pagoda. When i got it home it glowed a deep amber yellow when i stood it on the top of a lit torch. When i did the same thing the day after it no longer did it!! I reckon it held thames magic but it stopped once it was taken. Wish i had taken a photo!! Currently being recorded.😅.
You have the most interesting friends Si. Ghost hunter😮 how FUN!! Have you ever joined him on hunting Ghosts? Especially in your country! Your history goes back to the beginning basically. That giant padlock was verra interesting to me. I was wondering who touched that? What type of person they were. Anyway, another homerun Si, thank you for sharing!! Watching from Northern California 😊
southsea in portsmouth is quite a varied beach and its a naval area, i`d love to join you but i cant stand for long or walk far but would love to support you, even have accomodation if needed, great idea. lovely memory boxes. thank you

Thanks for sharing your collections. Love seeing everything. Interested in beach lark 🙂 depending on location. Would love to try my hand at metal detecting, but don't own any equipment.
Fun video! I had to watch it in segments over a few days... but I'm like that with most videos these days. And it was either really, really late, or really, really early here (depends on whether you were going to bed or getting up 😅)when you were live. So couldn't watch it then. I did want to shout out "I live near the south coast!" But as that's the south coast of Australia, I can't make the meet up. 😂 Nicola did a drawer tidy video similar to this, and as I said then - you need a volunteer researcher to come sort, catalogue and digitalise your stuff. I'd offer but.... you know, travel time would be hell. 😂 One thing you may want to consider is, for each box, lay everything out with an identifying label, take a picture, put everything in that box, whack the label on. That way, if you ever go hunting for a specific piece, a quick scroll through your pictures may be faster than unloading each box. Then, as time permits, add notes about each box or item into a database, link to its identifier and slowly, slowly things get sorted. Can you tell I've done similar for a living? 😁 Would defintely watch more videos like this. All the best ~Janis.
We made a youtube video where there was a puff of smoke then you can see a face of a boy in the hedge and what looks like a skull laying on its side next to him, very strange as I'm not really a believer but open minded. Great video by the way loved looking at your finds thank you.
G'day Si, Clarvoiant is the word for spiritulists who can talk to spirits & garnets do appear in rivers naturally and are heavy and found with black sand & gold. I like the lives, it makes it more personal for the viewers, m8....
Great video. Loved chilling with you looking at your finds. I’ll be up for a South coast meet up. How about Bournemouth or Poole? Posh people in Sandbanks might have lost a few diamond rings 💍. I’ve never used a metal detector so if there was one to try that would be great. Thanks for your videos I look forward to them ever Sunday ⛏️🪙🦴
Loved this video. It's great to know I'm normal 😁 When you've done your meet, lark and laugh on the south coast, please come over to the east coast and do the same💜 Cheers and beers 🍻 xx
@@Sifinds well, I'm in Lincolnshire, but happy to travel to the Yorkshire coast -say Scarborough way - as there we can do a bit of fossicking (I believe that's how it's said) There's some lovely ammonites and crinoids, as well as sea glass and detecting. I went to a fabulous place in summer just outside Scarborough called Clayton Bay beach and collected all three. There's a slight hill to go down from the car park though.
Really enjoyed watching, great fun going through your collections. Whilst out on the Thames estuary my friend found a frozen charlotte, I was gutted I missed it. she gave it to me this year as she knew how much I wanted one. Bad things started to happen and recently I returned her to the mud in the Estuary. I believe she wasn’t meant for me as I didn’t find her. Things have got better since. Depending on dates/venue I would love to a meet up and experience metal detecting 🤞🏻😀
Ahh the Jews harp, that particular one is,believe it or not,a Snoopy harp,as in Charlie Brown cartoons, made in the 1970’s and 80’s. I have a Supreme collection of these instruments, the Ukrainians make incredible ones, and I have 3 precious ones from Sicily, made by the very last master maker for La Cosa Nostra, mafia harps. They are some of the very last ones that were made. Yeah, watch your choppers, they can clang on the ivories in a bad way. I am adept at it,I have performed on stage.
Oh have I got a creepy story for you! I collect tribal art. I have a doll from Togo, west Africa. This doll would spontaneously produce little maggots, which would drop to the floor. It no longer does this,I do not know why. I have a great pic of it,would love to share it,it is legitimately scary.
You've shown us your forgotten finds. How about showing us those you love and treasure? Are they displayed, kept in a special cabinet, hidden under your bed?
Back in 1995 when my now ex husband and I bought our house, the day we moved in I was setting up my doll shelves and I felt someone watching me, I called off the names of people helping us move and no one answered, I turned around and saw a outline of a man who was about 6'4, I heard him run down the stairs and I chased him to the kitchen but no one was there!!!!!
I’ve got all the time you have to show the goodies. I never tire of seeing them.
That ax for shaping wood for a boat is called an Adze.
The school kids were so lucky that you took the time and energy to share these treasures along with their context in history. What a wonderful resource of educational material.

You’re more organised than me. But I do put all the finds from each trip into separate bags, so not all chaos

Bad things started to happen and recently I returned her to the mud in the Estuary. I believe she wasn’t meant for me as I didn’t find her. Things have got better since.
Depending on dates/venue I would love to a meet up and experience metal detecting 🤞🏻😀
@@Simplycharlotte-s that’s spooky! Stay tuned for updates on the meet up!
Psychometry is the art of tuning into objects. X
Thank you 👍🏻🐾🧡
100 mark... Test tube clamp I believe
We can hear you in San Diego
Great news! 👍🏻🐾🧡
Oh have I got a creepy story for you!
I collect tribal art.
I have a doll from Togo,west Africa.
This doll would spontaneously produce little maggots, which would drop to the floor.
It no longer does this,I do not know why.
I have a great pic of it,would love to share it,it is legitimately scary.
Are cats do exactly the same!! Their timing is uncanny
You've shown us your forgotten finds. How about showing us those you love and treasure? Are they displayed, kept in a special cabinet, hidden under your bed?
Great idea
Do you ever get asked for stuff for historical tv series/films, like for their set design or costume department?
Not yet, much of TV stuff is replica anyway, in case of breakages
I can see you!
Wow! Maybe the old owners hadn’t quite finished moving out 😂
I can hear you, and I can see the queen..
