“The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.
But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked.
Don’t rejoice when your enemies fall;
don’t be happy when they stumble.
For the Lord will be displeased with you
and will turn his anger away from them.
Don’t fret because of evildoers;
don’t envy the wicked.”
Proverbs 24: 16-19 NLT - Навчання та стиль
Yadkin valley railroad conductor here, it’s ironic with the use of woodchip hoppers because at one time we used to do woodchips at LP (Louisiana Pacific) At roaring river NC. They only get Centerbeam loads in now but at one time when they used to make it in house they used to send woodchips out! So this very cool, keep up the good work!
Hi Jimmy :)
This is Sam from ScaleModelScenery. I'm a massive fan of your channel and have been for quite a while now! I write a video section for our weekly Newsletter and I wanted to let you know that I've featured you a couple of times now. For this weekend's Newsletter, I'm going to include this video. Keep up the fantastic content, we all love it. The Newsletter can be read on our website and they are under the How-To Guides & Tutorial Section. Have a great week mate!
My local model railroad club, RANTRAK's layout is also named the Blue Ridge and Western. We call it the BREW.
Will you include a nod to the racetrack that's in North Wilkesboro? Like cars on trailers going to track on the road or have race cars in garages at houses on the layout, it would make for some interesting scenery and little Easter Eggs about the real location.
I dunno but the BRWR is an awesome sounding name and with the NS and that old csx on it.... man you got a winner
My recommendation would be to have the interchange train stay on the outer track instead of the inside and continuing on the outside. Helps keep the illusion that there's separate trackage.
This is pretty much exactly what I'm doing with my trains.
Dear Jimmy, this is such a great idea! The proto-lance BRW Yadkin Valley Railroad. Love that part of the story where this fictional railroad benefits from state crossing ownership of trackage rights. Such an interesting concept. Beautiful how you did the artwork for the BRW. Very curious how this project will further develop. Cheerio
Loving that #77. Like how your practicing what you'll be doing on your new layout. I have watched MANY videos over the last year and yours are by far the best.
Cool. I'm modeling the Bennington and Elkhorn Valley Railroad. 😀
Currently watching this while sitting by the beach
Love it, Jimmy. You’re railroading in my old stomping grounds back when I used to live in North Carolina. You sure you have enough turnback curves to get the line up to Boone? 😉 That’s some rugged country there. Bring on the mountain railroading! Thanks for sharing, ~Dave Foxx
Hi Jimmy , glad to see you’re feeling better. Just thought I would let you know that Trainworx’s is coming out with some wood chip hopper’s at the end of June. They have 6 different roads. Some are Southern , Family Line System , and CSX just to mention a few. There are 6 road numbers in each road. I have some on preorder. Thanks for sharing. Have a good day. 😎😎 👍
Oooooh! I do love me some Trainworx cars! That’s perfect!
Like going home, had a farm in Blowing Rock that overlooked the Tweetsie.
Loving the Conrail / CSX!
I’m currently designing my next layout with a Modern Frisco as the major line but with a twist the short line also with it is the SBD it is a mixture of standard and narrow gauge line .
I am wondering what you choose to go with the reporting mark of BRWX and not something like BRWR since your railcar will belong to a railroad and would not be considered privately owned?
Hey Jimmy,
The Blue Ridge and Western sounds like quite a lively little shortline with plenty going on if this is just day's work, and rather reminds me of some of the operations that used to go on up in Longview, WA, between the Weyerhauser and the Columbia & Cowlitz railroads.
I was going to ask about a couple of things I had spotted. One, perhaps it might be worth considering a dedicated interchange track in or a spur adjacent to the yards that will expect to receive cars from the neighbouring class 1s, rather than blocking the mains with cars awaiting pickup by the local or the yard switcher, or indeed necessitating a series of complex moves by the yard switcher in order to tack cars on to the waiting local. Two, in regards to the reporting marks on the BR&W's cars, because it's a railroad that owns its own stock, would they carry an 'X' suffix on them? As far as I'm aware, that denotes ownership by a non-railroad entity per the ARRs rules. Just some things that got me thinking and my two cents on the matter, and of course Rule 1 applies.
I look forward to seeing the development of the Blue Ridge and Western in future videos. Keep up the good work!
I just made mine up as well. Got an F7 as a switcher, small steam pulling passengers and gevos on the main line lol
Another great video. Thanks for sharing.
Looks like it will be fun build. Looking forward to the running of trains on that new layout. All my layout build is made up from my brain that dreams up all kinds of silly ideas. 😂😂😂
GOD BLESS 🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖🚂💖
To everyone else, yes, he pronounced it correctly. 🤣
Haha! I was JUST thinking about making a sarcastic comment asking why you kept pronouncing “Appalachian” that way as a joke, and then you had that golden comment that made me truly lol. When you went to that school, did you pronounce it the other way at first? That’s what the story seems like, but I figure you’d “know better” living where you do.
I don’t have any strong feelings about that word, but there are a number of towns in Ohio I could never pronounce the way the locals do, because they’re just flat out wrong. ;)
Where do you buy custom locomotive and rolling stock
That's funny, pronouncing it the other way! I am from the group who grew up saying it the other way. I say it the correct way now.
I'm not trying to tell you what to do, just wanted to share a quick fact if you find it relevant. The X at the end of the reporting marks indicates that the equipment has a private owner and it not owned by a common carrier (railraod). Since the Blue Ridge and Western would be considered a common carrier there would not be an X at the end of the reporting mark. For example CSX has a reporting mark of CSXT, a reporting mark of CSX would not be assigned to a common carrier railroad.
This is a good thing to know! Thank you!
What software did you use to design the "BRW" logo? I'm also making my own custom roadname and need custom decals for them
Where do you get the music for your videos? Is it original??
Loving yoir videos keep them coming up :) Can I ask what software did you use for designing the logo and colour scheme for your equipment??
What part of North Carolina are you in?
Is the layout N scale ?
Are they New cars no weathering or graffiti 😮
“Pucksters Gap” only exists in My Mind👍😀OperateOnOperator
