- This is a compilation of the 22 part series on building the HO Scale Tulsa Spur switching Layout. This is a small 1-foot by 6.5-foot layout with an inglenook track arrangement. Exception in all respects. You have just about demonstrated every aspects of the hobby and proven that a small layout can be as challenging and satisfying as it's larger conterpart.
Steve love your work! been a fan for over 14 builds "only one obsevation" Please get off your hands and knees hang a hinged door off an emply wall or use some pullies to make a work bench find an old table at goodwill put some casters on it! So u can work live a civilized craftsman instead of a bushman DUDE!!!!
I have saw horses and sometimes will use them but I just prefer to kneel or squat than stand most of the time.
Have you considered cutting a hole on the left to attach a fiddle yard so your trains can actually leave the scene?
I may do that eventually
Question Steve. Do prefer a DC vs DCC system for a switching layout?
It depends. If I want it to be portable, DC is easier, but DCC can be powered by a battery too. It can be fun to have sound with a switching layout, and you can use a keep alive capacitor in DCC locomotives for less concern about stalling on turnouts.

I have to say I really enjoyed this video and have started planning a switching layout for myself. I agree with you about Lance's books (I have 3 of them). I am playing with the idea of the same scene in 3 scales in 3 time periods. Thanks for the motivation to get started

This is fantastic ! I have only a little space to build in and my layout will only be 8' x 22" sitting on 1" x 3" boards. I really like everything you have with this. It fits all my needs and likes. Ever since I saw a club using code 70 track I have been enamored with it. It just looks right in proportion and makes the trains seem even bigger and more impressive. Now I really, really want to see this in your 22 part series. This is going to be great.

Great video and very nice work. Thanks for posting. Yes, my hobbies ended up in the garage too, maybe not because I wanted them to. Now that I'm living alone, a whole room is dedicated to whatever my heart desires.
I have a 10x 8 room, with a hallway I plan to have a 11 foot by one foot that can access to the main layout, with that size to work with in ho scale, any suggestions on whether I should make it industrial, a Shortline, or double leveled with Max length runs with little switching and mostly railfanning for others to admire? I have ideas for any scenario but I love short line and industry switching layouts but am so unsure of which direction to go to!
New to the hobby and stumbled on your channel. Fantastic build! Goes to show you can really pack a lot of operating potential in a small space. I appreciate the inspiration, you cover many aspects I have yet to tackle.

Not sure why it never occurred to be to build a bigger inglenook. I have a 1x4 and its great fun. The freedom 6 to 8' would give would be great

I really enjoy your videos. Thanks. I'm new at this, what adhesives do you use for building structures (Walters)?
I use a plastic solvent like these: amzn.to/37rkF8Z or www.hobbylinc.com/plastruct-bondene-cement-plastic-model-cement-00003 you can usually find these or a similar version at most hobby shops. What it does is melt the surfaces being bonded and then they fuse together. The joints end up being incredibly strong, and far more durable than using super glue, or something like that.

Fantastic work, I think you should go into production with this style of module for $10,000 a piece. I know lots of people who will pay that.
