Theres a reason they call it a Ritual and not a concert. I was there last week in Denver, CO and its a wildly different experience compared to a normal concert.
The guys with the spears and shields are the Einherjar ("The Chosen Dead"), the shieldbrothers of Odinn who will fight at Ragnarok at the end of all things. They train and fight in Vallhol until the fated day. They are painted to be ashen and _dead-looking._
Yep. Alfadhirhaiti actually means "His name is the all father". ("Alfaðir" is old norse for "all father" and "Heiti" being old norse "to call" or "names"). The words he speaks at the start are references to Odin; Freki and Geri are his wolves, Gungnir is his spear, Sleipnir his norse, Draupnir his ring. The first part of the song is an invocation of some short. Then "Huginn, Muninn" (sounds like "haugen, maunen" in the song) are the Odin's two ravens. The second is a list of all the names of Odin that he repeats in the Edda "Grímnismál". It's well worth looking up. It gives an insight into the character of Odin which is very far removed from the pop culture versions. Just few names in the song you might recognize: "Fimbulthulur" - "mighty thuler" "Fjoelnir" - "Wise One" "Ulfroegni" - "wolf speaker" "Raudhir" - "red headed" "Naudhvindir" - "needed one" "Jolfudhr" - "yulefather" or maybe "santa"
@@MikeM-go7hp the edda's are great. i have a few books with them all. i have slowly been learning elder futhark as well. which i think is the language heilung use. my mom is from norway. i just happened to grow up in america
This is the song that introduced me to Heilung, and it's my favorite. "If I saw these guys on the street, I'd be scared of them"... That's the point! This is a ritualistic invocation of Odin before battle.
i keep seeing people trying to say their music isn't about war. it damn sure is about war and calling on odin and hugen mugen fraki to help them in battle. one of their songs talks about how war has come to their village. one of the lines is u only understand the language of the sword. in maijdan he outright accepts the invatation to battle. people think tribal life in the old are all peacful utopia peoples. and they were nothing like that. especially the norse. i think the language is elder futhark. on occasion when i hear the lyrics clearly i can understand what he is saying. my mom is from norway and most of my family is still there
The ravens fly into Odin's realm and sit on his shoulders. They tell him everything that is going on in his kingdom. Bad and good. When it comes to betrayal, both ravens don't always agree.
The people in the background are Heilung warriors - some fans that the band chooses and they are different from concert to concert or tour to tour. It's really neat :D
they are calling for odins strength and help for a upcoming battle i think. the village leader was challged to a fight or the village was going to be attacked. and he is calling on the all father for strength in battle. i think the language is elder futhark
Fylgya futhork is an experience. In Maidjen, is a showcase of Maria's vocal playfulness, ability and power. Hamrer Hippyer, is full on. Check them all out and ignore my spelling 😅
Echt heel goed.
I just say what's on my mind during the video. That is how I reacted, that's my reaction. If you don't like that, that's fine. Doesn't mean that everyone shares that opinion though.

At the Ballroom? I was there too! Mind blowing experience!

I was at this concert tbh. It was the first concert ever for Heilung
It' s a chant, a battle song.
Alfadhirhaiti is the all father. Some of what they are saying is the many names of Odin. There is also more that I don't know but they make you feel❤

That's such a huge thing to do for the brothers and sisters.

this is amazing
Is all the names of allfather Odin
Echt heel goed.
Also genuine question, no shade. Is it a copyright thing that most reactors have the video a small in the corner.
try germanic forest before the roman leigons
please reac heillung otham
you need an explanation I think what you're seeing is self explanatory.
Terrible reaction. Stop questioning things/pausing so much and atleast try to experience the song in bits longer than 30 seconds.
I just say what's on my mind during the video. That is how I reacted, that's my reaction. If you don't like that, that's fine. Doesn't mean that everyone shares that opinion though.
