    Great video. Nicely done, good narration, no useless commentary, and FANTASTIC video work! If only all UA-camrs could do it this directly.
    I feel like my uncle is teaching me.

    Great video. My suspension on 2010 Armada stopped working for years until now. One way to know if the RELAY is bad is by switching it with the one next to it for the 4WD (one at near front of car is 4WD. Backone is for Air suspension. They're exactly the same relay. If relay is bad, your 4WD warning light will come on in the dash!! Switch them back until you get your new relay and install it. I got one at ebay for $38. I suspect this was also the reason why my tow lights stopped working. I wasted money on a new level sensor thinking my old one was bad. Learned my lesson.

      That's good info. The Armada I was working on was only 2wd so I didn't have the option of another relay to swap. Good to know they are the same.

    Do you know if the compressor should come on while driving such as on a freeway. I think I have a small leak and when I tow for a few hours, the truck will be sagging quite a bit and the ride isnt so great. Once I stop or restart the vehicle, it airs up normally (even at stop lights sometimes). I sprayed soapy water on the air line connections at the shock and compressor and did find a few small bubbles at the drivers side air shock - not a lot. I don't have an Autel tool so I can't bleed it off, but was thinking I could let it bleed off over night, then take the air line out, clean it, and possibly cut 1/2" off and re-insert it. Just not sure if the system is functioning as it should. Thank you!

      The compressor will come on when necessary to maintain the correct ride height.

    I bought replacements and discovered it was the relay. I haven't put in the replacements yet. My inky issue now is one side seems to fill up more than the other. Both sides hold air. Is there a trick to get them to reset?

  • @apossemstreams

    With having the wiring diagram handy, you could of cut the old harness and wired in a standard relay harness so if this one breaks u don't have to spend all that money on their custom relay.

    My 2011 compressor kicks on just after starting the vehicle and seems to adjust correctly. But if you add a trailer to the hitch, it doesn’t adjust after that. I’ve replaced the compressor and solenoid, the lift height sensor on the lower control arm, and now, the control module inside the rear wall panel. All factory parts except the compressor. It’s frustrating for sure!

    • @737mechanic
      @737mechanic  Рік тому

      I would hook a scan tool to it and monitor the level sensor and make sure the computer can see the sensor change as the rear drops lower as the weight of the trailer is put on it. As long as the sensor is being read and it changes as it should then the compressor should kick on to level it out.

      @@737mechanic Sounds like great advice! I’m going to need to invest in a scan tool. Thanks for your video and replying to all the comments. It’s a life saver!

      I wonder if I took it to a dealer (heaven forbid) or a reputable shop, if they’d be able to reflash it to recognize the new parts. And what kind of cost could be expected with that. My wife just wants to safely pull the horse trailer to shows in the event that I can’t go. But this issue persists on her vehicle.

      @@waybakcustoms If they simply reflash or re-program the module it is usually 1 hour of whatever their hourly rate is.

    Can you adjust on 2018 Armada the rear ride height in the park position with the vehicle off? When the car is running it's fine. When off the rear drops. Wondering if the exhaust port stays open too long in the off mode. About 3 weeks ago Nissan replaced the rear control arms. They seem to be stumped. The truck is still with them.

    • @737mechanic
      @737mechanic  Рік тому

      If you have a scan tool you can watch the sensor reading and adjust the sensor as needed.

    Thank you. I’m trying to diagnose the same problem. Could you share how you actively controlled the compressor from the Autel? I have the same tool but can only passively see the height sensor value and compressor on/off.

    • @737mechanic
      @737mechanic  Рік тому

      go into the active test and there should be a function to turn the compressor on and off.

    Thank you so much for this video. It saved me alot of time troubleshooting my 2013 armada. The relay is not clicking when I actuate the rear suspension sensor arm. I don't have a tuner that can turn the compressor on. When I jumper the thick wires from the relay the compressor kicks on so I know it's OK. The thin wires on the relay have 7.3V on them all the time, when the suspension sensor arm is up or down. I'm thinking a bad module? Any insights?

    • @737mechanic
      @737mechanic  Рік тому

      The black wire should be a direct ground and the purple wire goes straight to the module so if you are getting 7.3v all the time something isn't right. I would find the module behind the left rear quarter panel and check the connector for corrosion specifically PIN 1 is the compressor output for the module.

    • @pauljenner7235
      @pauljenner7235 Рік тому

      @@737mechanic I replaced the module with a boneyard module and i'm still getting 7.3 V to the relay. I'm thinking maybe one of the sensors is bad. Maybe each sensor triggers half battery voltage so it takes both sensors to trigger the compressor.

    • @737mechanic
      @737mechanic  Рік тому

      @@pauljenner7235 How are you checking the voltage? Do you have a voltmeter with one lead going to a known good ground and the other on the purple wire at the relay? There should be 12 volts at the yellow wire and the purple wire when the module is commanded. I only see one senor in the diagram. If you email I can send you the wiring diagram.

    So I have a 2012 Infiniti Q x56 with body motion, control system or air suspension. Whatever you wanna call it. Does anybody know when lifting the vehicle and three suspension work? Does the car have to go into any kind of maintenance mold, or anything to prevent damaging the suspension??? Please help!!!
