As a domestic violence survivor, I want to say THANK YOU to Nikki for standing up against this violence that happens too often and is ignored around the world because too many blame the victims when it's about the abusers' power & control over their victims...There is absolutely no reason this should have been banned because this is REALITY... I'm a survivor & I'm standing against domestic and sexual violence!!!
A TRUE TO LIFE ABOUT TRUE LOVE ❤️ 😍 💖
Yes exactly I agree 💯%
Stand your ground always. Please. Lots of love.......
actually this song was a joke to jack Wagners all I need
Unfortunately this isn't about standing up against anything..
Nikki was at his lowest point in life, having a serious heroin addiction and was very sure his gf cheated on him with Jack Wagner. Wagner had a song with the same title so... he wanted to fuck up with her head as some kind of revenge.. which is sort of abusive too..
This Is the most beautiful song about murder I’ve ever heard
I play it to the girls napping in my van
This and Delilah by Tom Jones

So Right
It may have been the origin of the song. it was litterly written to an ex , Sixx tells it in the Heroin Diaries. also there is a verse not in this video.
No shit...If rock was the devil's music in the 80s then Rap is the devil itself. Not to mention it fuels racism and hate in general. I'm from a small white conservative community. It cracks me up to see farm boys driving down the street playing that SHIT so loud their car is rattling apart. Makes me want to slap the piss out of them.

Mick Mars' outstanding guitar abilities needs recognizing far more broadly, this solo was unmistakably unique
Agreed , this guitar solo is amazing.
Minor chords get to me every time.
Mick has so many great solos. They lift the songs to another level. Unlike some bands solos just repeat the chorus with a guitar.
@@buytheredcar Twisted Sister must be one of these bands ha ha
Actually, all the music in it was unique. The chords and how they change it up in the middle of the song was just genius, especially for back in the 80's. Very gifted guitar player.
I will say this ..for all of us 80's headbangers and you know who you are. Motley crue, Iron Maiden, Juidus priest, ETC. WE HAD THE BEST MUSIC AND TIMES OF OUR LIVES....IN THAT ERA!!!!!!

Me too
I thought I was the only one feeling it
What happened in the video, did that really happen? I know Nikki wrote it for his ex, I forgot her name. Not Vanity.
My baby brother was murdered by his girlfriend who he had 2 kids with. She constantly put knives to his throat, beat him savagely... he continued to go back because of the children and the intense feeling that "love" felt like. Now... he's the 240th homicide in our city for the year. Ironically stabbed in the heart. We're all broken beyond repair, and awaiting her charges for pre meditated homicide. Growing up, I was fascinated with this song playing it over and over on my little boom box radio. After watching the report on tv... all I could hear in my head was " but we finally made the news..." Domestic violence isn't a one way street! One of the most beautiful souls you'd ever know was taken by the hands of his affection. If you or anyone you know is in a situation lethal like this song or my brother's tragic tale, leave! You don't need a love like that. No matter how real or intense it is, it'll be the end of whatever you believe to be everything. I love and miss you James.

Vince’s voice gives me goose bumps every time, his voice is angelic
I agree! It stood out as a signature sound, it had a rock and roll edge and high like an electric guitar. I think the beautiful ballads did it the most justice.
He really didn't. I'm sure it was studio magic. He wasn't a good singer
Nowadays it's horribly satanic
Ari Awan biggest mistake they made in their career was firing Vince Neil.
It was well crafted studio editing. Even back then before Pro Tools. Sounds great though on album. No complaints at all.

The 80's....what can you say about them? Well if you lived them, you loved them. The music was music. Back when guitarists were incredible, drummers were beasts, vocalists were awesome at their craft as well as great frontmen. Here I am 40 yrs later listening to this music, singing at the top of my lungs and the whole village is sayin there he goes again!!! Yes kids if you lived the 80's you loved them and wonder how you made it out alive!!!! I lost a lot of friends in the 80's and will always remember them. Love you guys and gals!!! Miss you forever and always!!!
you said it brother . My first love in life a beautiful blonde started me into lifestyle of a true 80s rocker with this album. They were our favorite ,we was gonna go see them, we rocked to them in front seat and loved to them in the back seat. Not a day goes by with a song from that era that dont bring an instant memory from high school, partying , girls , sex , roadtrips, poofed up hair and tight jeans that were harder to get off than them putting them on. Heartbreaks and sad goodbyes , people we will never see again until that one song comes on and for a moment you do. She got killed 3 years ago . So many first in life for me became my last. The 80s were not the best because of this genre of music, they were best cause they were fun happy carefree days , always something to do or go see , concerts every week but to know the 80s was to live them and you can with ever song in some way . No internet or cell phones and we had a better time and way of life than ANYONE in this day or time will ever know or could duplicate. And to all the 'newer' generation of talent judges who constantly down us and always making fun of Vince being fat and cant sing no more like back then and this guy cant play drums no more after the '93' tour or they look like hell now . They in their f#%^ng 60s and 70s and still doing more stuff making more money and sound better than your whining ass voice does . They have every right to miss a step , not as fast on a double bass kit or not sing as high or putt his butt in leather pants 3 sizes too small but By GOD they still rocking ! And really why if you don't like the 80s or hair bands , the songs , the lyrics , or topic , or death metal kill everything satan rules gay sex hip hop boom boom banga jip jap janga dang band from east side of Nome Alaska just off the frontage road is the hands down best band going today and ALL you people are messed up thinking this is ......? @@eadecamp: Then the Dem politicians came by and ruined everything for us. LOVE the inflation, eh?
Wait, wait, wait......there are some lyrics missing. Starting at 2:38 after Vince sings "but killing you helped me keep you home" it jumps to "I've got so much to learn about love in this world" but after "killing you helped me keep you at home" its suppose to say "I guess it was bad/ cause love can be sad/ but we finally made the news/tied up smiling/I thought you were happy/never opened your eyes/I thought you were napping" then that's where the part "I've got so much to learn/about love in this world/but we finally made the news" is actually supposed to start. I can't believe all you Crue fans didn't catch that. I know its a sick song about murder, but its also a love song about how much the guy loves her and can't live without her. It's not right to take someone's life but at the same time, the male character is in so much pain, you can almost feel it. I don't know. It's hard to explain why this song is so powerful and almost romantic without people thinking I'm psychotic. Lol.
Good catch! That’s exactly how the song goes... I wonder why they cut that part out?! 🤔
Exactly. They keep taking and taking from us
They censored that part otherwisethe song won't make it in youtube policy. Just like when thelis video got cancelled in the 80s
That's not love, that's abuse...

Drugs alcohol bad relationship and alot of arguments don't never fair well.. always walk away
I remember when this video got banned before we could even see it. Even in the 80’s they were showing way worse on the news every night in Los Angeles.
That's because they were still not wanting to admit that mental illness was actually a thing! It is a real thing and men were still in dominant power most of the time everywhere! Women were still rising! And women most often experience chemical imbalance. Both men and women can experience chemical imbalance ((especially if there's nutritional deficiencies!)) This video would bring too much awareness for the time! Love MÕTLEYCRÜE 444-Ever
True. Which is why they mentioned ''but then again, who ever said the 6 o'clock news was pretty?" On the opening disclaimer
They were showing worse shit everywhere. The thing is though, back then domestic violence was still a taboo subject.
All I got is say 2020 what u see now?
Like they wouldn't show Alice In Chain's Rooster.... too brutal!
I love this song, Vince voice fits this song so good! ♥
I think its his best. Love it!
In nikki sixxs "Herion diaries" This song was written because he thought his girlfriend nicole was cheating on him when he was touring, and he hand delivered this song on a cassette tape to her and before he left he said "tell Jack to kiss his knees goodbye" (the guy that he thought she was sleeping with). If you have the book, it's on page 100.

The blade of my knife
Faced away from your heart
Those last few nights
It turned and sliced you apart
This love that I tell
Now feels lonely as hell
From this padded prison cell
So many times I said
You'd only be mine
I gave my blood and my tears
And loved you, cyanide
When you took my lips
I took your breath
Sometimes love's better off dead
You're all I need
Make you only mine
(I loved you)
So I set you free
I had to take your life
You're all I need
You're all I need
And I loved you so
But you didn't love me
Laid out cold
Now we're both alone
But killing you
Helped me keep you home
I guess, it was bad
'Cause love can be sad
But we finally made the news
Tied up smiling
I thought you were happy
Never opened your eyes
I thought you were napping
Well, I got so much to learn
About love in this world
But we finally made the news
You're all I need
Make you only mine
(I loved you)
So I set you free
I had to take your life
You're all I need
You're all I need
And I loved you so
So I put you to sleep
You're all I need
Make you only mine

OMG you are so right. I'd rather listen to an aging seventies, eighties, or early nineties rocker who is out of pitch than the garbage can bands of today. There are some good singers but they will never be able to write or sing music like before yet put on those awesome concerts
Eric Bock I completely agree me myself growing up in this era of music and living in a household that listened to the 80’s hair/glam era you can really see the difference the passion for music that you see with band such as Motley isn’t present in current music it’s like most bands don’t care anymore there are a few current bands that are good but no musical era will ever be as good and the 80’s hair/glam era it was real music
Yeah! Music is supposed to be made with good vocals and instruments. Not a crappy voice edited to sound better and a bunch of computers!!! It’s just sounds now. And I’m even Of this generation who enjoys it! I’m one of the few who don’t. There’s so little new music I listen to and it’s not even anything popular!!!
I miss you, too , Lilly
Depends what you're listening to. There's plenty of artists out there today still putting out great new music, just like there was plenty of artists back in the 80s putting out utter garbage. If you're only gonna focus on the garbage, that's your problem.

have you heard merry go round lateiy that shit is awesome but mickis one of the most not talked about guitarist in history in my opinion, dudes a beast!
It was one of the first solos I tried to learn when starting to play guitar in the late 80's. This video showing what he was doing was such a great help and rewound it many times to get it down.

Out of all the hair bands in the 80's Motley Crue tops them all
I agree 100%, but lets start calling Motley Crue a Hard Rock or Rock band because I believe music snobs like to use the term
"Hair Bands" as an insult, but in reality those Thrash bands and Grunge bands had just as much "Hair" as the bands that they were mocking, sucks to be such hypocrites just out of the fact that they were just jealous.
@@tonyponchopeters nah I have to disagree with the logic. The grunge bands that took over? Sure they had a lot of long, straggly hair, but it wasn't all "prettied and hair sprayed" up! Lol. That was the point. Get away from the "pretty boy" 80's look (which I didn't mind at all), and just let it go...and that's what they did. I think the 80's was the "HAIR GENERATION"! LOL. I know mine was very high and tons of aqua net. That was just the way it was. Are they knocking them? Not really, at least I dont think so. We lived it and it was ALL about the hair
@@jasonthetapersonal If you say so.
If you prefer Slayer to Motley Crue that's cool... but I don't tbh.
I can listen to a couple of Slayer songs when the mood strikes, but never a whole album of that, no dynamics what so ever, varity is the spice of life in anything.
@@tonyponchopeters I call them Masters of Metal. They had the look during Too Fast For Love and Shout At The Devil.
And your right, if you look at the Motley Crue comments through out You Tube there are some that are VERY NEGATIVE. I've been blasted for saying this is my favorite band. Vince is fat, blah blah blah.... I won't comment on the Mick Mars comments. F**KING IDIOTS.
They were also called Glam Metal which I hated. Ratt, Dokken, Krokus, Warrant, Y&T, Loudness. Hell there were so many Metal bands. Again I call them Metal...period. Even the Scorpions had that look. Crazy hair, leather, etc. The entire 80's had a great influx of music. Iron Maiden who had been around for a while, also another older metal band. DIO. They were sick in concert as was Iron Maiden. Add crazy bands like W.A.S.P., Twisted Sister, Accept, and I saw a comment about Slayer. Not my cup of tea but ok. Add Pantera, Megadeath, and AC/DC and it was METAL EVERYWHERE....LOL. It was great to be alive. One more I can't forget......OZZY OSBOURNE.
I was a Metallica fan back before they became goofs. I got to see Cliff Burton do the Bass Solo from Kill 'em All. It was unreal. Epic. I was 20 feet away from him. It was at the Eagles Ballroom. No seats, General Admission. One of the best concerts I saw. Motley Crue is #1, Iron Maiden and Dio tied for #2, and Metallica and Cliff Burton at #3. Ozzy is at #4. God so many memories.
No way. Def leppard tops every band

A big hit. These guys were and is awesome
Eu amo a voz do vince
They totally cut out the first half of the second verse which is" tied up smiling I thought you were happy , never opened your eyes I thought you were napping"
My favorite part of the song too.
I love that you picked that up :-)
Domestic violence wow we've come so far, yes still have so far to go! Control, jealousy, power, rejection! Choose love, kindness and compassion! Sending you all love and healing!!! Long live the 80's 🔥💥💟💞❣️🎈🥁🤘🤟🤘🤟✌️

Yeah, strange
Lucy Fuir i thought i was crazy omg im glad someone else noticed it too
I'm a 90s girl but I wish I was grew up in the 80s. Music today is just not music. This is music.
I'm late but I absolutely agree. You should have been there. It was a time of real. The music the people the life. Damn I miss it. So does my 84 trans am. Lol
@@johnnyshell2839 Yup
Just to set the record straight, I was not a groupie because I never followed musicians around. I have a successful career. Vince Neil showed up at my work twice before I actually decided to take a chance and go out with him. I was with Vince Neil in 1993, back when he was so gorgeous and we were together for awhile and I have to say that Vince treated me like I was the only woman important to him. He's the sweetest, most generous and thoughtful guy I've ever been with. He had the greatest sense of humor. Of course, he was into the long blonde hair and boobs which I was lucky to have. I don't regret my time with him. You're always in my heart Vince. ❤
What do you look like now? Time was not been kind to Vince.
@@jonklein7130 I take really good care of myself. Vince is 7 years older than I am. Some people say that I haven't changed much at all. Vince on the other hand, I don't know what he was thinking but I do know he has been through a lot and he has let himself go but he is working on it.
V N it goes to show you that money and fame don’t always bring happiness. I will have to watch the movie dirt. It was probably a good thing you did not stay with him.
@@jonklein7130 What people see are the good side of Vince but if you knew him like I did, he was different on the road but he was good to me though and very protective. I don't have any regrets.
V N it just looks like he has lived a hard life. Keep in contact. I like interesting people jwk2834@gmail.com
According to Nikki's book, this song was written for his girlfriend Nicole, thinking she was screwing around with Jack Wagner (who #1 song just happened to be All I Need)
Nikki had jacks legs broken after that 👌🏻
That was shit of him. It was proven false, and even if it wasn't, how does that making this song ok? Makes him sound like a misogynist psychopath. I love Nikki like anyone else, but people need to realize this isn't ok just because a celebrity assumed some shit. He was in the wrong. Amazing song though.
@@saraskellington4684 actually no. The bikers weren’t able to get to Jack and called Nikki saying they didnt do it. It was coincidence that Jack fell and broke his leg the same day
This was mine and Best Friends song! When we were young we would walk down the street singing this song at 14. She recently passed away. I’m hoping this brings me comfort. I will miss my best friend Angie forever.
Oh my goodness! Nikki Sixx said hi to me!!! Angie would love this! This made my day.
@Nikki Sixx i don’t believe you! I’m sure he has way better things to do… then hangout on UA-cam. I call Bs
@Nikki Sixx this song still means the world to me right now… so thankful for it. Thankful to have Mötley Crüe as part of my childhood. If it you… thank you! Angie would love this!
@Nikki Sixx If you're really Nikki, then you'll know the answers to these questions. Nikki had a sister who passed away. What was her name and how did she pass?
I'm so very, very sorry for or your deep & terrible loss my
May Angie rest in peace, freedom, & joy for Eternity. 💗
May you find comfort, healing, strength, support, Light, Hope, & ever-increasing peace. 💗
You will see her again
I promise! ❤️
Love & Light to you. ❤️

What a name lol

De lo mejor esta banda. ❤ 🇸🇻🇸🇻
Why does the victim always get blamed? She threw a plate at him at 1:31, he knifed her in self defense.
I love this song! Probably my favorite Crue song! Vince's vocals sound amazing! Girls is an awesome album! Long live the Crue!
Fucking motley crue the best of the best still jamming to these guys today

Crazy. I'd forgotten about this song. I must have listened to it a thousand times back in 1987.
Me too I can't believe I forgot about it.
How can you forget such a great song?
I'd forgotten it too
I was right their with you in 87, blasting this and every available Crue song. Those were the fucking days!
Bite of 87
Girls Girls Girls was my favourite album & this song was one of the reasons why
I couldn't remember the album! Thx now I don't have to Google it. I was thinking it was on #theatreofpain
Wild Side is one of my favorite Crue songs, that You’re All I Need, Girls Girls Girls, All In The Name Of, and Sumthin For Nithin make it a great album
@@mack7235 hell yeah. Sumthin for Nothin and Dancing on Glass are underappreciated imo
Rachille Do you happen to remember which song Nikki Sixx wrote about his overdose (not the Kickstart one, he od’d once before)?
My Fav too. My fav song off the album was 5 yrs dead. The whole tongue & cheek groove of that song turned up to as high as my speakers would take, Doing 80 mph on the freeway. Damn what a feeling.
I heard this at a fairly young age when I first started listening to music around 14. This song's brings tears to my eyes. Everything traumatized me as a child and its left me heartbroken
On a brighter note they had at one time thought Vince wasn't right for the band. I can't imagine them without him
The dislikes are misclicks
That key change for the guitar solo at 3:26 gets me every time. Classic moment.
Lyrics:
The blade of my knife faced away from your heart
Those last few nights, it turned and sliced you apart
This love that I tell now feels lonely as hell
From this padded prison cell
So many times I said you'd only be mine
I gave my blood and my tears, and loved you, cyanide
When you took my lips I took your breath
Sometimes love's better off dead
You're all I need, make you only mine
(I love you) so I set you free
I had to take your life
(You're all I need) you're all I need
You're all I need and I love you so
But you didn't love me
Laid out cold, now we're both alone
But killin' you help me keep you at home
I guess it was bad 'cause love can be sad
But we finally made the news
Tied up smilin', I thought you were happy
Never opened your eyes, I thought you were nappin'
I got so much to learn about love in this world
But we finally made the news
You're all I need, make you only mine
(I love you) so I set you free
I had to take your life
(You're all I need) you're all I need
You're all I need and I love you so
(So I put you to sleep)
You're all I need, make you only mine
(You're all I need) you're all I need
(You're all I need) you're all I need
(You're all I need, you're all I need, you're all I need)
(You're all I need, you're all I need) you're all I need

LA GLAM POWER BALADA CON LA ATMOSFERA MAS MELANCOLICA, TRISTE Y NOSTALGICA DE TODOS LOS TIEMPOS, SEGUN MI MUY HUMILDE OPINION...MOTLEY CRUE...SIMPLEMENTE UNOS GENIOS.
Well said
Es buenaza pero tambien escucha House of Pain de faster pussycat
@@inka1105 ¡¡¡ VOY A ESCUCHAR ESA CANCION QUE ME RECOMIENDAS...GRACIAS Y SALUDOS !!!.
I love Motley Crue been following Motley Crue since 1983 best concert I ever saw was Carnival of sins and girls girls girls

Mick Mars is one of the most underrated guitarists in the world…. His solos as guitar skills are just amazing. He needs to be more recognized
