I am watching this movie because of two words - Gregory Peck. One of Hollywood's best actors!
Yes indeed, Gregory Peck is the very best. So great in Roman Holiday & Snow of Kilimanjaro & The scarlet and the black.
I'm afraid he's the only reason to watch it...
Typical movie of the time in the atmosphere of espionage ......real excellent
and the atmosphere of sanity in the usa; communism pushed way down...for the time being.
Having lived through that era; this movie is terrifically profound!

The movie is more accurate than most can think. Glad they made it at that time with a great and intelligent actor like Gregory Peck. Today it would be just a childish action movie. Today no one would want to listen to such profound communication. This film is👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👌🏽

I will watch anything....any movie that has GREGORY PECK's name attached to it!!! The man was brilliant! The looks, good-excellent ACTOR, seemed always humble and taking his roles..... assumming-being-absorbed-by-the-character.....soooo believable!. I admire-d and love-d this wonderful man-ACTOR!!!. Gregory peck was an excellent actor, in the movies "other people's money", "the million pound note".
I went passed this movie because the title, The Chairman" led me to believe it was about business. But later I looked it up and saw the title was changed for Britain to The Most Dangerous Man in the World, because of the same reason I passed it. Now I've come back to it.
I went PAST this movie.... this indicates that you are an American. I myself am an educated American.

Peck was such a handsome man with a beautiful voice and such a good actor. He deserved at least 4 Oscars.
He had 5 nominations for best actor and won in 1962 for his performance in ' To kill a mocking bird'
@@teta7133 True, he certainly deserved more Oscars. I watched a video about his life and it said he was nominated 5 times and never won. But I found out later, it wasn't correct. Sophia Loren gave him the Oscar. That year 1963 Peter O Toole also was nominated for his role in Lawrence of Arabia.

The generation that fought the largest conflict in recent recorded history and still there are those that chose negativity. Humans are not perfect, ever, in any way. They should have cut it 40 seconds earlier. The reunion with the girl friend was just one awful attempt at a conclusion.

J. Lee Thompson sure knew how to keep you watching. You could say he was an English sleazeball whose main virtue was the he wasn't Michael Winner, and you would not be wrong. But this is one of probably a dozen or so J. Lee Thompson movies that are interesting from start to finish, no matter how preposterous the story is.
It would have been if both the Chinese and the Russians (Soviets) weren’t driving American military vehicles. Rather spoiled the ambiance.
Do you not imagine that obtaining Warsaw Pact, Red Chinese military equipment may have been difficult for the producers of an action movie in the late sixties?
@@indigohammer5732Some people seem to have no comprehension of such details, as obtaining foreign made vehicles, etc. for movie productions, from countries that are not politically aligned with the U.S. & other Western countries.
Only more recently, have movies had more "authentic" vehicles, etc., due to greater availability of these items (after the end of the cold war), & with the use of CGI. Also, in some older movies (probably several from the 1960's), tanks were modified, to look (approximately) like different tanks, with moderate success, & U.S. built half track vehicles were often used as German half tracks, in older movies & TV shows.
Wow. The wet market at 19...and watching this Cultural Revolution flick and, simultaneously, VDH on tv, talking about The End of Everything...and the continuing naivete, even at the 11th hr., one great nation/civilization after another.
