Thank you Michel, a very informative video, I have never taken my micrometres apart, now it is not so secretive, a great change, music choice and just a voice when needed. keep doing what you do best. Beagles.
Hey Michel nice video! I just finished a project where and inside micrometer would have really helped but I was wondering if the chinese ones offered by HBM machines are any good and this confirms it. Btw, how is the clamp where you held the gage blocks called? Do you know a supplier of thoae in Europe?
Hi Michel, is there any disadvantage using the inside micrometer to measure the opening of the outside micrometer directly? That would skip 2 measurements during evaluation.
If you pay careful attention to the alignment of the centers of the four anvils, and the measuring pressure of both mics is about the same, this is also a fine method and I used that also off camera. But pay attention, just a little rotation and you're in trouble. If you're off by only two degrees, you won't measure 20,00 mm but over 20,01. You may have noticed that I held the sides of the anvils tight against the gauge block clamp to keep them square.
Way to go with dropping the AI voice on this one! Was nice listening and watching... Though I hope you don't drop the AI voice completly on your future videos. I take so much from your detailed explanations. Thanks!

Thank you Dave 🙂
Beautifully done, love that gauge block holder! I haven't seen one before. Thanks
Terrific result Michel & another worthy "how to" video, Great stuff!!
Thank you Colin 🙂
Very interesting. Nice work sir.
Serene it was, even my wife while passing by noted an improvement to the regular "noise" .
That is usually the result with Schubert 😉
Well, your AI voice isn't bad at all, but nice classical music does make this a soothing experience as well.
Thank you Michel 👍💪✌
Mantap sekali bapak.. Yerimab kasih ilmu dan pengalamnnya yg telah diperlihatkan untuk umum.. 👌👌👍👍🙏🙏
Thank you for the compliment
Wonderful content, wonderful music. What's not to like?

Google for gauge block holder. Mitutoyo sells them (not cheap..) and you can find them on AliExpress (cheap). Built this one myself.

Agreed on Michel's musical choices. Serene.
No, I won't.
When there is too much information to cram in subtitles, I'll gladly summon my beloved digital spirit "Brian".
I have a very similar inside micrometer, and it's rough, following your video, I will disassemble and clean mine. Thank you for the video
