I learned more about hitting a golf ball in this 6:39 minute video than all the 100's of golf videos that I watched in the past 10 years. Your insights are greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I'm 74 in good health and really enjoying my rounds after watching your videos. I watch two per day and some over and over. This one drill has really helped. I do it in the back yard 10 times with iron and driver daily. Enjoying long straight drives 220+. The other day I skyballed one drive and partner commented ...even a pop up is straight!
One of the best drill ever, just tried and work direct for me. I'm struggling for a month now, I was thinking that my club face was square, but in fact not at all, this drill helps me to visualize correctly the face and what to do to bring it square !!! Thank you Alex
Epic!! That was an amazing tutorial on squaring the club face! Best I’ve seen to not only visualize but to have a concrete look and feel to each club. Fantastic! Thank you!!
Great job Alex thanks for this brilliant video! I always struggle to determine the relationship between the clubface and ball position, and always have problems with my grip, hitting nasty fat hooks with my irons. Today I used your little drill and finally nailed my grip and ball position problems! It is so easy to distinguish minor differences and decompose every aspect of the setup with it. Very very helpful! Please keep them coming and appreciate your help very much!
Excellent tips Alex for squaring up irons and driver! I have found that hand position at address is important as well. I try to play all of my clubs whereas my hands are on the inside of my left thigh! Then I have to assure myself that the ball is also positioned right. Good job Alex!
I have submitted to play a fade with both irons and driver, that gives me less stress becouse I know how the ball will curve. To avoid a big slice I just imagine a straight fade and club travels with less open face. If you can’t beat the slice, embrace it :)
This is something I'll need to try..... My main issue is at the top of my backswing.... When I start the downswing I uncoil like a helicopter so most of misses are a straight 60 yard pull since my clubface is 4-12 degrees shut on impact.... I have a REALLY hard time trying to drop my arms on my first downswing move to prevent the uncoiling like a helicopter
if the right arm doesn't fully flex, it can, also, cause the head to move up in the backswing. the arm moves up, instead of flexing back, moving the head up with it. the muscle in the left side of the right forearm should be fully flexed at the top. it actually effects a slight pause when the right arm fully flexes. it is always a good idea, especially in winter, to do a few swings with just your right arm- no club- to ensure that the muscles in the right arm are fully warmed up, before you head out onto the range. but, a player should be able see, with their peripheral vision, when the left side of their right forearm is facing straight in front of them, in the backswing. they can then lever their right arm back, to the top of their backswing. and, when the right arm is fully flexed at the top, it actually activates the muscles in the shoulder. and, this presses the left side of the head down, slightly at the top of the backswing.
thanks for this....would appreciate if you didn't cut into another shot for the last shot, for me, its better warts n all. thanks for the drill, amazing drill, will be working on this with a square block of polystyrene to see how I square on a full swing. hopefully the indentation should give some feedback.
For the life of me, I can't imagine trying to time a small wrist movement at or near impact. I've heard that some say to roll lead hand knuckles down to square at impact, at full swing speed, sounds like hook city to me.
The simplest method is to set your left hand grip stronger than most...not overly so, but to the point where the logo on the glove is set to your club face. That logo, that hand position equals a squared club face. It's really that simple, and a few practice sessions will show it. Not my original idea, rather I learned it from Hank Haney, and he's spot on.
By squaring it up like that are you not eliminating the Loft by closing the angle trajectory from face to ball. Rebound trajectory a bit like snooker and the white ball rebound of of the color ball depicts the angle it reflects at. The ball will ping of the club different depending on the Angle of the surface it pings of of. So a flat surface will punch it straight and a angle bottom to top back will loft the ball and top to bottom back drop the ball. ?????
If you can't square the club, you can't play consistent golf. It doesn't really matter how it happens really, but all good players do it. I have been playing the Maxfli Tour balls. My biggest change this year has been 100% going to a yellow ball and I will never go back to white.
Are we now Mr. Beast with the very annoying and oversized subtitles? Other than that I like this drill. I have the issue of the closing the face at impact and hooking the ball horribly for my misses.
Been struggling with the big stick for weeks now with the dreaded slice. Tried umpteen fixes which have had contrasting results. This one seems so simple. Can’t wait to get to the range and give it a bash ⛳️🏌🏻♂️👍
*THIS NEW WAY IS THE ONLY WAY!! 🙏🏼*
I must say niblick is one amazing club I bought one and yeah of 9 holes I played today I puted on 4 the other 5 I chip and run it in

thank you let me know how you get on with this

Once again, nice simple tips that can be easily put into practice. Thanks.
Love the channel Alex! This might be one of the best tips I’ve seen in a while.
This makes so much sense. Can’t wait to get out and try this.
Thank you Alex, you have brought new excitement into my practice with your teachings !
Can't wait to try it on the driving range, then use on the course. Thanks, I always enjoy your videos.

Great video with the box and club face tips, can see and understand why the face should be square at impact. Will give that drill a go. 👏
Glad you enjoyed it

Great visualization technique any level of golf can use - thank you!
I’ve golfed my whole life.. this should be more known. You’re completely correct
I hope that this really helps you control the clubface
Excellent instructions! Kudos Alex! Thanks!
Alex you should try oncore golf balls. I tried them out this year and love them
Great tips again Alex thanks for sharing your knowledge.

great tip - it's simple and makes sense
Going to the driving range tomorrow and giving the box a go! I have a terrible slice and am hoping this will help
This guy should be on tour he knows all the secrets
brilliant, really nice one 👍
Just went out to the garage for a practice of your drill, it is below zero in east Canada, the club is incredibly opened
Well done alex excellent drill 👏 👍
Will be giving this tip a try since it my off season. Also, can you send any links that you have on fixing hitting irons behind the ball. Thanks.
Hi Alex,
I'm interested in ball positions for playing my irons and the reasons why. Great videos
Bob
great question bob keep your eyes on the channel!
good tip mate
Gripping tight with my left hand worked for me.

Late to this party. I’m struggling with a hook. Will this help me?

It's all down to your micro muscles controlled by your subconscious to square the club face.

awsome Alex I did this today with the tee box markers with my irons 🤣 and I Wana ask your opinion over the Cleveland niblick 49
Yes!!!! You know iT works then!!

Exactly. Do not understand the video
That was good i enjoyed it right up to the point that you edited the final swing... would have rather seen your first effort.

Great drill I will add this to my practice.
I'm not clear. If you square the clubface to the box how you show, wouldn't that take out all the loft on the club?
Great tip. BTW, I'd watch your videos for your name only (my given name is Elliott, and my son''s name is Alex).
So the question is what to do when you practice this drill and the ball still fades or slices.
I've been in the woods looking for a box and seems they don't get spanked into the woods
I aim the clubface like im putting, no matter the club
Why the edit at 6:28?😁
Maybe strengthen your left hand a touch, that will help you square the clubface up
Can’t miss
50% swing 233 yrd, me swinging as hard as i can 220 yrds 😢
but anyway if it wasnt about your tip for hitting a tee with a long irion drill I wouldn't owend my long shots
I close the face to much. Snap hook everything.
His 50% is my 125%
Are we now Mr. Beast with the very annoying and oversized subtitles? Other than that I like this drill. I have the issue of the closing the face at impact and hooking the ball horribly for my misses.
Hey, I think there’s someone pretending to be you and trying to scam people in these messages
Hi, where was this on please?
I hate the titles to these videos
