A Croatian cook would NEVER put that many competing flavors things into one stew, capers, olives, leeks, potatoes, etc.. etc.. local food is far more simple so you don't get lost in all the flavors happening there. The mix of seafood is common, but from there it gets a little overwhelming. Simple food = simple ingredients.
@@dnodna5094 i think our cuisine is too peasant. Not any combining of flavours, just very simple things. Yeah, it tastes good, but it isn't cuisine if you just stick fresh scampi into a pot and pour olive oil and garlic over it. That's tapas
Croatian here. Apart from ingredients, this has nothing to do with Croatian cuisine or the way we prepare food. This is how to ruin perfectly good food in "Under 15 minutes" the Gordon Ramsey way.
It not because I’m Croatian, but i dont think that anyone in the world have that much beautiful places in so small country, but its not just about beauty, we are probably the best nation in sports based on population so i would recommend everyone to come here and you won’t forget it. Gordon is currently in Istria and its very nice region, but when you see Dalmatia you will fall in love even more. Greetings from Zagreb
I'm born and raised in Croatia and this is pretty close to something my mom would make for lunch in the summer. But our cuisine is really varied and in winter we might eat something completely different like Hungarian style goulash or German style sausage with potatoes and sour cabbage, at least in the continental part of the country. And then there's the classic spit roasted lamb which a lot of people dont seem to know about but is absolutely divine. Lot of good food here
Croatia is hands down one if the most beautiful countries in the world. It's a tourism Mecca and is only going to become more popular. Google these towns, Rovinj, Rab, Varazdin, Rastoke, Porec, Betina on Island Murter, Sibenik, Primosten, Makarska, Dubrovnik, Korcula, Pucisca, Plitvice, Hvar.
the best food in Croatia is prepared in the continental part of Croatia, especially Slavonia and Baranja. I would recommend Slavonski Brod, Požega, Vinkovci, Osijek, Ilok, in addition to good food, good wine is produced. The wine from Ilok is drunk by the Queen of England and her family.

I really like this version of ramsay's character, he's like a weirdly intense food goblin, who basically interacts with the world in the same way regardless of whether anyone's around to see it - just like, unending mantras of "beautiful. that right there - be generous, with the most - amazing - literally, just - dice. sear. drain. drizzle - with a little extra virgin olive oil. now. pan. in." like a mad culinary profit, narrating his entire life as it happens. he's practically a demi god in these. I love it.
Hey Gordon, olive oil is even better in Dalmacija. For me at least. It is totally different and has got nothing to do with olive oil from Istria. Like its oil made from a different thing when you compare it to Istiran. Istrian is much more bitter and has taste like meadow, Dalmatian tastes like olives :) Some people prefer Istrian some Dalmatian. You would like Dalmatian oil even more I bet.

Croatian coast is obviously the most beautiful coast in the world but continental Croatia is seriously underrated. The combination of the two is what gives Croatia it's unique soul, it's the only mix of Slavic, balkan, mediteranian and austrian cultures on earth.

The amount of him saying beautiful is absolutely hilarious 🤣
I want a 3 hour long compilation video of him saying “ beautiful “
It's ridiculous. It's like he's trying to convince us, say it enough times and maybe we'll be brainwashed enough to believe it.
just a touch of beautiful this time
I know lol
gues the title of Croatian anthem?
Fun fact: This is how its done in Istria, Rovinj. In Dalmatia, southern province, every island has its own way of doing stew and there's a lot of islands :D, some versions look similar but most of the time You can notice the difference. Shrimps are mostly used in different kind of dish called "Buzara" where they are the main ingredient. Stews are done mostly with fish instead of shrimps & shellfish, on some islands even fruit is added, red wine etc...
Yes, yes and yes. ALL of buzara and brudet recipes should be thoroughly researched and documented. They should coexist together in harmony among islands. And at the end- they should be eaten. Even more thoroughly

Looks amazing
Croatian seafood, olive oil are second to none. Lovely setting as well...guess it's Rovinj?!
Yep this is Rovinj
Europe; the most beautiful, cleanest continent.....
Australia & Antartica a the cleanest ,Croatia is superb !.
I disagree. We forgot the great ingredients from the past. You need to know how to marry these flavors, they arent competing.
@@deansusec8745 Either way Gordon made it how he likes it

Barbieri properly showed that in his tv show.
You can tell how much respect he has for the culture not just the food b
It not because I’m Croatian, but i dont think that anyone in the world have that much beautiful places in so small country, but its not just about beauty, we are probably the best nation in sports based on population so i would recommend everyone to come here and you won’t forget it. Gordon: "Nicely seasoned."
Me: "Gordon did u throw salt over ur left shoulder?" 2:20
Assuming he dropped some and threw it over his left shoulder as it's a superstition that if you drop salt it gives you bad luck unless you do that
He was talking about the sea too.
Lot of good food here
Great that he finally came to Croatia. We call it brudet! And it is great.💖👨🍳
Well..let say a kind of 😁
Croatia is hands down one if the most beautiful countries in the world.
Dont forget about supetar.
How he makes amazing food in little time is beyond me.
experience as well as editing trick
the best food in Croatia is prepared in the continental part of Croatia, especially Slavonia and Baranja. I would recommend Slavonski Brod, Požega, Vinkovci, Osijek, Ilok, in addition to good food, good wine is produced. The wine from Ilok is drunk by the Queen of England and her family.
This city behind him is Rovinji.it’s really stunning and if been there many times
I dont like it. In winter there is like being in a horror movie

that little sequence with the electric guitar while he rants single-word ingredients and instructions is just wild. I love it.
i was high as hell when reading the title and i though it said "Gordon cooks up a Croatian man in under 15 minutes"

@@ivanprtoljan5003 The motives behind the war is what should be learned, although its changed via the victor. Aswell as sheep people.
@@asterixx6878 a lot of non-croatian people think that this country is still unsafe and dangerous, covered in minefields and devastated cause of the war. I worked in tourism, traveled, have relatives abroad and not once I've heard questions about safety in general and cause of the war. So yes, I, personally, believe that it is important to say, yes, we had war, we had minefields and destroyed cities but that was 25-30 years ago.
