Trade the 90 for a 40, the boat will be much safer!! Also mount a bracket for a 2.5hp emergency engine, also good for line fishing - a worthwhile mod!!
yes, that's correct, you can check it if you heat some ml in a glass tube carefully. If you do hear it a knock (or small explosion ;-) ), you have water in it.
I think a newer 90hp 2 stroke is the Same weight as one and a half 65hp outboards when the sheltie was made in the early 80s just make sure transom is solid and stick a thin stainless plate where engine is fastened for the torque difference..Simples i wouldn't worry about it😊
@@austenwest1011 in case you didn't understood me..MAX HP FOR A 535 includes a sheltie is 65 for the normal 535 and 70 for a sheltie by manufacturer specs if you go over those specs in either weight or HP your insurance will be null and void if you ever have a little bang, doesn't matter if you bought it like that or not, ignorance is no excuse! but heyyou do you.
@SailingAnja that's not the question any way sailor boy the question was the outboard size what was on the sheltie and the 535 offshore can be insured with a 75hp so stop being a loud keyboard warrior and stick to your sails and 4 hp back up on your leasure 17 pal 👍
@@austenwest1011 Alright , lets see 75...90... sure maybe in yank land and btw don't have a leasure 17 i have a 535 with a 70 and 2 other boats.. yeah sailing you should try it.. but i bet its too hard work for ya.. good luck bud
That is a monster of a engine
LOL Doesn't look like there's water in the oil!!! Im guessing this is your first boat 😂
Hi Poul. Nice video as always😂.
It looks like there is a lot of water in the engine oil. Be sure to check the oil in the near future.
Happy sailing 😊
Yes, you can be sure that I will do that. I actually think it’s a lot of unburned fuel.
See part 3

i think it could be emulsionated with watwr both in the engine and in the lower unit

Try a 3 blade prop at 14 degrees also maybe fit a pair of trim tabs to the back of the boat
just thinking you must be careful with the power and the safety of the construction of the bow/boat
water in the oil not good
LOL Max HP for a shetland is 65HP.. lets put a 90 on it.. poor transom
Yeah, but I bought it like this
