You could try adjusting your trim angel pin up a bit , should give you some higher rpm

you should kept the 535 they come standard with a cabin, the sheltie the one you had doesn't have the cabin i guess.. as my 535 has a closed cabin with a door. I got an Evinrude 70 hp 2 stroke on mine.. it flies along at 39 knots ;)

I have the same motor but it doesn’t have that white air intake attached to the front of the carburettor. The cylinder head is also attached the opposite way around so the plugs point out towards the pull cord side rather than next to the fuel tap. Plug leads are also a lot shorter that way.

Hi, do you remember how you got the "baseplate" for the waterpump out? The thicker plate that sits furthest down in the stack, right under the thin wear plate. Mine is giving me some trouble.

It is an 86 or later, in 1985 Merc used an Ugly Brown on it Cowl

Trade the 90 for a 40, the boat will be much safer!! Also mount a bracket for a 2.5hp emergency engine, also good for line fishing - a worthwhile mod!!

Story of my life with the stuck bolt. Lol I think you were on the right track with the big flat hest screw driver. Some screwdrivers have a hex shaft thst you can get a wrench on to loosen. Stabbing the lower can be tough. Lining up shift shaft, drive shaft and water tube requires a second person or somone who identifies as an octopus.

Nice job! Try taking out both plugs when you check compression and open up throttle to wide open.

when adjusting points never loosen the point plate screw very loosely, keep some tension on the plate, now go to the points adjustment screw and turn it open to a big gap insert feller gauge and close points just to snug the feller gauge, now leave feller gauge in and go back to screw on plate and tighten it down,your points should not have moved and have the correct gap. Your Welcome

How do you get the lower unit off ??? we have removed the 4 bolts at bottom off and it moves about 1-2,mmm but we cant remove it
