This video is a followup on some creaking, crunching noises coming from the front suspension of this Ford Fusion. I finally found the culprit. The front sway bar links needed to be tightened.

He is right on with my problem, didn't replace them yet but I am going too. Greased them with a grease needle and 90 percent disappeared. Will be replacing these asap!!! Thank you so much for the video!!
Thank you for your input on this issue! It’s been an ongoing problem for 6 years now
How can you tell if strut is bad ? I took severe hit on drivers side wheel and CV axle , lower control arm and the inner tie rod was damaged need replacing . The strut looks fine but some say the strut is likely shot and needs replacing . Took it to this shop yesterday and hopefully start working on it Monday . Some shops sell you on things you don't need . How can I tell ?
Have you replaced the front sway bar bushings? It’s a pain on these fusion to access them?
Hi we have a 2014 Ford fusion. The steering wheel grinds when it is being turned. The steering wheel also locks up on occasion. Any ideas?
I have a 2011 Lincoln MKZ and “crunching” is the word I’ve been looking for. Thank you! Mine is doing the same thing.
My 07. Just started making sqeaking noises at low speeds or turning the steering wheel, just started happening in the very cold weather. Wonder what this could be? Car has 73,000 miles on it
I sprayed and wiped down all the rubbers one the front end with silicone lube and simple green it helped a lot
I’ve got a 2011 Ford Fusion that has this awful “popping sound” whenever I turn to the the left or right, going forward or backwards. Checked out some online forums and I’m leaning towards the problem being the CV-axles, though I’m still not entirely sure. Any thoughts?
It sounds like the CV axles, but the sway bar links can make a popping noise too. I would change the sway bar links first since they are super cheap and easy to change. If the sway bar links don't fix it, attack the axles.
I have the same problem on my 2012 I inspected everything but I cannot seem to find the problem
Replaced both front struts and outer tie rod on the passenger side where the noise is did nothing you could be right

The youtube channel FordTechMakuloco has some very good videos on suspension noises, like:

Ford Fusion- Hard To Find Suspension Noises Solved
if its a clunk its a tierod
mazda 6 same year same problems,, could be sway bar bushings
Yea, I just bought the Fords cousin Mercury Milan. I have front end random noise. A squeaky noise that's annoying. Like he said have someone. To check all of your front suspension components. It could be a lack of lubrication one or two of parts. Can also cause a noise to be heard.
I have a 2008 ford fusion that i love driving with the same problem, i replace the sway bar links, tie rod ends and right axle and its still making those noises i dont knkw what else to do im beggining to believe its the shock absorbers that are causing that noise
Cracked welds in the subframe. (Ford fusion forum)
I just bought a 2011 fusion I hear that noise. Did u also feel it in the steering wheel?
Going through the same problem
@@amandagibbs7552 I'm bringing mine to the shop in 15 minutes lol they told me Friday it has nothing to do with swaybars ect. Theres a recall on the motor for the power steering I do know which could b it
@@amandagibbs7552 I just got off the phone with a ford dealership by me they are fixing 3 recalls for free for me. Call a ford dealership near you they will run your Vin through there system and will let u know if u can get it fixed for free
your suspensiom has nothing to do with the motor. the rack and pinon and electical compotent for the rack n pinion connector was recalled nothing to do with the motor itself only suspension
The rubber joints in the top and bot control arm. Take off a front tire and 🔧 around. Some 💦 lubrication is a temporary fix.
I have a 2014. During the summer it creaks over bumps and turning at slow speeds. And if I push on the front end.
I replaced lower control arms but that didn’t solve it. Thoughts?
Same problem with my 06 Fusion
My 2012 is doing the same thing seems to get worse in warmer weather replaced both front struts and one of my outer tie rods and I still got the noise
@@katielovesutube have you done anything to fix it and did it go away
I have the crunching creaking noise only in hot temps. Just replaced lower control arms in front. Still have noise. 2012 ford fusion. Its very annoying.
Glad I’m not alone with this issue. Notice the same thing on my 2012 fusion sel in the summer in the humid weather it sounds so creaky mainly at lower speeds. Spent $1,800 to replace front struts and tie rods and the noise is still present. Grrr!
Say, what would make the ass end on this vehicle sag?
If the car is making these noises is it unsafe?
No
Note if it only happens when foot on the brakes
Has anyone had issues with a fusion hybrid making a creaking noice when accelerating from a stop? Doesn’t do it when using the battery to accelerate and as soon as we get going it stops. A lot of the mechanic in our area don’t want to work on it because it’s a hybrid!
Mine turns out to be rearward control arm it’s the bushing
New seay bar or fix sway bar with welding and new holes of proper size, that way the the links won’t have room to move and make the noise.
mine is bracket that holds front subframe on, its a triangle piece steel.
What vehicle?
@@AdrianTechs 2009 fusion 2.3. There is a triangle bracket that holds subframe
@@rob_v_nj thanks man
Mine as well. The CV axles are done. I'll add a subframe attachment bushing set, maybe all of the control arms. Not looking forward to it and it might be time to trade it in. After 180k miles, parts wear is expected, but it's a great running car. 2012 Fusion. All the parts can be picked u;p off Ebay as generic "prior to being" labeled parts and they are the same as labeled parts from a decade of major car repairs with Ebay/Amazon dealers for all of our vehicles.
The problem is the sway bar holes had enlarged and has to much play, welding and remake the holes will solve the problem, nothing else.
Make sure to get Motorcraft struts
Mine was always good, smacked a curb, soundin shiesty
