Love that since both Elvis and Peter Sellers are two of my heroes. I heard/read that Peter Sellers was one of Elvis' favourite actors. Peter plays Elvis in Curse of the Pink Panther.
What an amazing lineup! Both Denis Norden and Steve Race were participants in my ever-favourite radio series 'My Music', and some of DN's song selections for the final part of each MM were the highlight of the show. As for Peter Sellers - numero uno in voice impersonations. Sorry that I didn't recognise the other two, but I enjoyed their humour.
Thanks to whoever is responsible for deciding to share these great clips from some much-underrated programmes, although I'm sure many of us could quite happily fix our attention on some complete episodes occasionally, as well as the (I'm sorry to say) clumsily-edited four-minuters that are the staple of a generation born missing an attention span (they won't be offended by my comment though because they won't have made it this far....).
Oh I miss Denis Norden. So well informed and so witty. They just don't make programmes like this any more. Programmes in which individual egos take a back seat. Programmes in which informed nostalgia is the order of the day, not just pushing your latest product. Then again, it was made in 1975, a much better time in which to be sane.
I remember Libby Morris was in the original episode of The Plank (Eric Sykes, Tommy Cooper & loads more) she was the photograher's model who fell in the horse trough
Along with Sellers of course, I was able to identify Steve Race and the great composer Arthur Schwartz, but couldn`t identify the lady. Most interesting though, and I do wish it could have been longer!
@@MrDavey2010 Thanks for that! I`m an old boy of 73, and for the life of me I can`t ever recall seeing anything of her in the 70`s or even later. It sounds as though I may not have missed a great deal!
toff358 No problem. She was around from 60s to early 80s I guess. Appeared on many tv variety and panel shows but beyond me why as she was never funny.
Yes things have changed a bit since the 70s these bits of furniture look like they’ve been dragged out of somebody’s home. Nowadays it’s the black sofa and dark lighting
We used to watch `The Jimmy Durante Show` weekly when Durante signed off with the song that Peter Sellers impersonates so well. About Arthur Schwartz..not very nice..he apparently is the one who told Lena Horne when she considered buying in Beverly Hills, `Do not. We will get a petition up against it. It will lower our house prices`.
Peter Sellers had the rare gift of being able to capture the essence of a character.
I know I am kinda off topic but does anybody know a good site to stream newly released tv shows online?
@Peyton Emmitt try flixzone. Just search on google for it :)
@Tommy Garrett Yup, have been using Flixzone for since march myself =)
@Tommy Garrett Thanks, I went there and it seems to work =) I really appreciate it !!
@Peyton Emmitt Glad I could help xD
My old fella once told me
" Amerca gave us Elvis '
And we gave America ,Peter Sellers "
He loved them both :-)
A good deal in my book

Superb. Thanks for uploading.

Oh, you must know Arthur Schwarz, surely. Singin' in the Rain was based on his back catalogue of all the songs he wrote with Howard Dietz.

I met Peter Seller's and he never knew his own real voice!
Libby Morris is still alive and will celebrate her 92nd birthday in 2022.
I remember Libby Morris was in the original episode of The Plank (Eric Sykes, Tommy Cooper & loads more) she was the photograher's model who fell in the horse trough
Dennis Norden - the Richard Osman of his day.
more correctly richard osman is the Dennis Norden of this day, a rather pale imitation though.
Along with Sellers of course, I was able to identify Steve Race and the great composer Arthur Schwartz, but couldn`t identify the lady. Most interesting though, and I do wish it could have been longer!
The lady is an irritating comedian called Libby Morris - back in the day. I never found her remotely funny.
