Where have I been. I made a really nice microwave caught back in the early 90s 1993. I use Poplar. and I was told I couldn't stain it so I didn't. Now I know better. It's very hard and a little costly but well worth it and I I'm glad to see you're using it as an entire countertop. Love that Kreg Jig. That's a lady tool I wish I had had back then. This video is a keeper.
How did you do the edges. And how did you attach it to the counter?
Important info missing here.
1. What size wood?
2. Wood glue between boards?
3. Sealer for the wood?
4. Is the an edge piece on the front to hide the plywood beneath?
I love these videos I e never seen the products they use the color of the wood so you can compare I’m looking for some stain colors that would work for a farm house kitchenwithout being too dark
What did you seal it with?
I think a good option would be to apply wood glue to the bottom then you can always screw it down to the plywood and use wood filler to hide the nails or screws.
You sound like you should be a radio or sports announcer lol. I love these counter tops I'm trying to redo my kitchen and bathroom
big radio vibes. not saying that's a good thing.
what size screws did you use? and the front edge you used a trim cap, how did you attach it
I did it myself with the woodglut plans. I think this is the best way to find out how to build it.
Do you joint the edges?? Looks beautiful finished!!
Beautiful! How can I protect my counter-tops?
Andrea Bailey I want to know the same thing.
I've found great handbook on woodprix website. Good solutions for everyone I think
Is poplar, popular 😮
the 'creative' video angles made it hard to really follow what you're doing. otherwise, very helpful for my project. Thanks!
Make it wooden with the help of the woodglut instructions.
Was there a reason why you didn't glue the boards together before screwing together?
i know I am kind of off topic but do anyone know a good site to watch new series online?
@Wells Benedict i watch on FlixZone. Just google for it =)
@Caleb Danny definitely, have been using Flixzone for since april myself :D
@Caleb Danny Thanks, I signed up and it seems like a nice service =) I really appreciate it!
@Wells Benedict happy to help :D
How do I fix the table to the plywood?
Did they secure it to the cabinets?
Jmac Jonez that’s what I was wondering lol
Was just about to ask this
I came to the comments for the same reason, looking for how they secured them.
I really wish you would have said the color of stain you used, what size boards etc.
Why no glue ?
Yhea right, as if you can get a perfectly straight edges right out the store. He skipped the part where he strip table sawed the edges so it will be straight and flush. The most important thing left out . 👎💩
What stain color did y’all use?
No sealant?
Soooo he said use finish nails, but used screws in the video... 🤔 idk how I feel about this..
they were finish screws though.
Could you just use liquid nail on the sides instead of the screws?
Was this narrated by the guy with the podcasts about ghosts? Had to have been.
You can use woodprix instructions to build it in the cheapest way.
finish nails? screws
Lost me at pocket holes.
I did the same with woodglut plans :)
