I love how she called her Felicity the whole time instead of the doll and how she called it her skin. It just shows the care she has for it. I do have a question though wouldn’t the watercolor paint wash off the doll if it got wet?
Well, it can wash off but American Girl Dolls are not supposed to get wet in the first place unless you need to clean them. Acrylic paint also cracks over time and has to be redone more often than water color paint.
@@azaleawinchester a matte poly spray is what most people use on dolls, but it does make it harder to repair later on, as all the spray needs removed to fix the face. It also isn't as nice to the touch as the soft American Girl plastic skin. I feel like there should be something more permanent than watercolor, too... but tbh I cant think of anything that has fewer long term downsides than watercolor, despite its short life.
I found two Felicitys at a flea market once, and I was thrilled to discover her because she's not one you normally see sold at flea markets. I recognized her immediately by her distinctive red hair and incredible bright green eyes. And I noticed that both Felicitys had "Pleasant Company" imprinted on the backs of their necks, and that they had red-hair eyelashes. Which are both traits that show that they're original Felicity dolls. The newer Felicity dolls have black eyelashes and have "American Girl" imprinted on the backs of their heads.
@@ALT-vz3jn Of course! The lady selling them was more than happy to sell them to me. I got one Felicity's hair styled at the Doll Salon at the AG store near me (which has now since closed down).
This was so satisfying to watch. I have been restoring Barbie dolls for a couple years. The endless possibilities that are possible with American Girl dolls makes me feel like doing that, too! Great vid!
This is great! I love this doll’s era, and am an AG doll collector as well. Proud owner of 3 bitty babies, and 4 bigger dolls (AG Character dolls that I own: Blaire, Logan, and Grace, and own a Truly Me). This vid makes me so happy 😊
Also, if you are wondering how to clean your doll, this video showed it perfectly. Use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser with room temp water. Avoid eyes and eyebrows, and well as cloth. And there! The hair care is also good! If you want curls you can also spray the hair with water, brush it, wrap it with straws while wet, pin them, and then wait for the hair to dry. Boom! You should then have some beautiful curls (AG also has a hair styling kit).
I have a Sophie doll I got at a thrift store. She is probably a cheaper version of the AGD but anyways, the side seam on her right side has split apart and the fabric keeps fraying when I try to sew it together. What would you recommend I do as she doesn't have the string in her neck, it looks like a zip tie that the square bit has been covered with a small piece of fabric.
Sweet when I was in the 1st grade I saw one of these dolls I was 6 in March 1991 a kindergarten had it wasn't in the best condition all the limbs and head were attached but the doll was dirty though 😊
I have the entire original set that I got when they first came out plus a bitty baby. I didn’t play with them as I was adult. I’ve had them in a tote since year 2 of owning them. Maybe it’s time to get them out and see what they look like. I do remember the last time I saw them I noticed the elastic in many of their clothing was disintegrating, I assumed that was a quality issue in the first issued dolls.
I grew up with American girl dolls. I have a box full and I plan on buying more of them. If the American girl store will still be around in ten, twenty to fifty years I'll buy my future child an American girl doll. I always loved how all the American girl dolls came with a time period and a story, other knock off dolls are just dolls nothing u ique about them, American girl dolls take the cake because they come with a time period and a story but because the whole business is trying include boys and those with disabilities into the mix, that's what I love most about American girl dolls.
You can tell that this doll is older but not one of the originals beacuse the cloth body is not white the first American girl dolls had a white cloth body.
I never had American girl dolls but I had monster high dolls- it was close enough. I'm 20 but I'd honestly love to have one now and have cute outfits for it, calling my inner child
Felicity was out in them dam streets living reckless … and you gave her a reason to live again .. bless you miss lady
LMFAO

This comment, tho 😂

I was fortunate to have American Girl dolls growing up (Samantha was always my favorite) and watching people restore them never fails to amaze me!
Yes
Same! Samantha was also my first american girl doll. (Molly is my favorite)

You can use a sealant. While I am unfamiliar with what sealant you would use I do know you can.

Seal it with mr super clear an it won't
pastels can be good, just be very careful with them lol@@extrules
I love doll restorations, they are always satisfying to watch
My mom restored American girl dolls when I was young to resell. It was not uncommon to see a bowl full off stuffing around her office
Go Kailey! She's an amazing agtuber and I'm so proud of her for being on this channel!
YES!!!
Hi ally!!
Omg I love your channel
What's an agtuber?

Lucky! Did you have to fix them up?
Did you get them? I hope so.

Everyone gangsta until the doll opens her eyes
Recently I got my aunt that passed away her Felicity doll which was an original and I have been working to restore it this video helped me a lot
Someone out there loved this doll very much! Good job at restoring her!😊
I can't believe I'm so old that I'm now seeing restoration videos of American Girl Dolls oh my god
This is so helpful! I just bought a Josephine with a broken leg… so nice to know how to fix this.
Congrats Kailey on being featured by Refurbished!! You always do a great job on the dolls!
So awesome to see Kailey on here!! Congratulations 👏

Detached is the word.
Yes, same…
I need someone like this to fix my dolls for me I don’t trust myself 😂

"Alright, you've peaked my interest."
My toxic trait is that I'm gonna somehow find time to do this to my doll i haven't touched in years tomorrow
I don't know why but I love the popping sound when she removes the cups from the limbs
What a labor of love! How did you learn to do all of the cleaning and removable of limbs? This is amazing work!
“Now that all of her limbs are attached to her body I’m restuffing felicity” I fell asleep with UA-cam on autoplay, and this is what I woke up to
i always wanted felicity❤️ good restoration!
I literally still have this doll and she's is great condition!
Even though I did not have an American Girl Doll, Felicity was always my favorite because of her movie, books, and story overall.
She turned out so nicely! I love her make up/face paint

Beautiful job!
The most surprising thing about this video was that her before condition was worth $55. With one missing limb?!
I was gobsmacked by that as well! Crazy!
Fantastic work! She looks great!
Do you have a video that focuses on the restringing process?
Good job Kailey. You made her look as good as new.
Why is this so calming to watch-
How do you tell which American girl dolls they are? I recently got one online for cheap and I refurbished her, but I can’t figure out who she is.
Should’ve washed her hair and give it boiled wash and then style it. That doll’s hair was dirty.
So literally no one is talking about Kailey Hopkins the person having the same name as a girl of the year doll Kailey Hopkins???
Very well done and easy to understand video. I'm wondering how hot you set the straightener.
you set it to the lowest temperature possible. i have mine around 225 degrees fahrenheit, not sure what that is in celsius.
Congrats to the Dolls in the Rain for being featured on this channel!
The doll almost looks happy and giddy after the restoration
Thank you! I just pulled my Felicity out of my doll trunk the other day and she needs a little TLC ♥
Please, what Kindle of pinture do u use in lips and theeths? Thank u. How do u restore a doll withaout a finger?
Very good job. Thanks for sharing the info. I've restored a few myself and it is always interesting to see other people's tricks.
Total Toy Story 2 vibes, love it 😍
Everyone in the doll community’s like this is normal
Beautiful work! ❤
I wondering if it would be easier to paint the teeth first in case you accidentally get paint on the lips.
Where did you get the other hand again?
‘Acetone can damage vinyl’
*dollightful has left the chat*
what kind of color you use for painting? I don't understand
lighter more muted colors so the appear more natural and not like clown makeup lol
I loved this! ❤️ I restore dolls too, but I've yet to redo any paintwork😊 Mine is cleaning them up, and sorting their hair out 😊

How do you secure watercolor paint? It can erase after washing her face
spray sealant
That’s awesome! You have an amazing gift-thank you for sharing it with us!
Shes fixing a doll, not painting the monalisa
Wow she looks new!!! Beautiful 😍
Wow this was very impressive! You are so talented.
I have a Felicity AG doll from when I was young. Love it!
Makes me wanna restore an old doll too
It's not as easy as it seemsA
Restoring dolls is so much fun! I just restored a Wellie Wisher today, she’s a smaller American girl line
At the beginning…
POP!
How nice to start things off.
Beautiful restoration.

This is deeply unsettling if taken out of context.
You could say that for basically every doll repair video, really.

Mine doesn't have that string at the base of the head. Its a plastic zip tie instead. I need to re-string my dolls leg so I need help 😩
Hi. What exactly is the magic eraser you use? I have Felicity and Kirsten and they are both pretty greasy.
“Mr. Clean Magic Eraser”
@@laurad3497 I heard people say magic eraser without the Mr. Clean part. Plus it is said in the video
Removing the head would freak me out, but do your thing.

I just look up how to fix an old doll. Happens to be I’m fixing felicity lol
thankyou for your tips im 21 I have special needs but im still quite normal I love my sagie and I love the AG songs and films
This reminds me of that one scene from toy story 2
Is she saying de attached? Or am I hearing things ?
She did an amazing job!!!!!!!
I wish I had the steady hand and patience to re paint dolls and fix hair!
It's that scene from Toy Story 2 but in real life
I have felicity, my mother bought me her when I was little, it’s so weird to see the doll I grew up with getting a makeover..
This makes me remember the 7 ones In my closet
I would die to have a felicity doll 🥺🥺🥺🥺
omg i have Kailey Hopkins!!!!
Good but this is nowhere near the level of the old man from Toy Story 2. The one who restored woody.
That was "Geri" from the Pixar short, "Geri's Game," one of the first of their shorts, and still one of the funniest!
Can you talk About Kaitou Joker?
I have an Elizabeth and felicity from 2008 still in box
Wow you did an amazing job!
I have a Felicity from the same time period. I'm still working on her hair.
For the record, "de-attached" is not a word. The opposite of attach is detach. But re-attach was correct! :) Just thought you should know.
My daughter’s first AG! Need to fix her hair but otherwise in good condition
Her little salon cape! Lol
Wow! This was so cool to see!
Cool! But does it haunted tho🤨
