Everybody Wants to Rule the World - Greatest Drumbeats in Rock & Roll History II

"Everybody Wants to Rule the World" was a last minute addition by Tears for Fears to their second studio album "Songs from the Big Chair." Chris Hughes, the producer, programmed the unique 12/8 shuffle to this new wave synth-pop song including the electric shaker playing steady triplet 8th notes and the hi-hats playing a syncopated cross-rhythm. Manny Elias was the drummer for the band's first two albums and appeared in six of the band's promotional videos in the era.
